"Inspired by the arguement over the guns buff thread"
Golem has higher hp and speed over patton as well as having one of each hardpoint(heavy, medium, light)while patton has only 4x light.By now,we all know that nearly all medium hardpoints is an equivalent to 2x lights ever since Pix buffed the hydras(for me,hydra seems like 1.75x spirals) and now the guns to have the same damages but the T's do twice the firerate.Practically,Golem is nearly the equivalent of Leo with 3x light hardpoints and 1 heavy hardpoint minus the hp leaving patton with 4x light hardpoints.Does this mean that patton is outclassed by golem?Let us compare with the listed setups best suited for each bot with the same/nearly the same categories.
Trident/tulu/pin Golem vs pin Patton
Zues/hydra/spiral Golem vs spiral Patton
Thunder/taran/mag Golem vs mag patton
Thunder/ork/pinata Golem vs DB Patton
Thunder/guns Golem vs gun Patton
?/?/? Golem vs aphid patton
What are your thoughts and who will win in one on one but assuming with their best respective ranges.Pricetag is not included BTW

Aphid patton, all he has to do is keep lobbing aphids over a building.

Patton Is a more specialised bot. You can run a golem with higher theoretical damage than the Patton but will often find yourself mixing weapons that don't really work for the golem. Golem is more of a front line bot than the Patton, Patton likes to play peekaboo or keep its distance.

Winner in my opinion would be Golem: Trident/Tulu/Pin, Zeus/Hydra/Spiral, Thunder/Taran/Mag, Thunder/Punisher T/Punisher Patton: Quad Pinata, Quad Aphid, Quad Molot

Purely hypothetical but assuming 1v1 situation as suggested by OP, to counter the aphid patton, think golem could win by running zenith / hydra / spiral and constantly keeping distance >400m. At same lvl patton is never faster than golem.

Zenit? You mean Zeus right? If you did mean Zeus then yes, it is an effective setup against Aphid Geps and Aphid Pattons. If that was really Zenit though..I don't know..why is it there..

Yeah zeus would work too, but suggested zenith as aphid patts like to use cover, and can hide from spirals and hydras with good positioning. But zeniths fall at a steeper angle (almost vertical) and can do some damage if you're slow. Plus zenith has splash. This is by no means suggesting zenith is a good weapon, just saying it would be usable in this very specific hypothetical situation.

I very much disagree. You's be almost entirely wasting your time in such a setup since the patton would hide behind walls and be doing good damage to your teammates while you can't hit anything...

ShutUpAndSmokeMyWeed may be my bad but thought assumption of 1v1 meant only the golem and patton are fighting and nobody else...

Since the speed buff, Golem has always been > Patton except for specialist ambush roles. However, a Molot Golem? Why? Waste of the best knifefighter hardpoint in the game (medium) or a competent anti-shield mid range bot. I like Zeus/Molot as an additional support set up but only on vits and tashas, maybe leos.

ShutUpAndSmokeMyWeed may be my bad but thought assumption of 1v1 meant only the golem and patton are fighting and nobody else... although hydras and spirals theoretically kill aphid users the safest and easiest, they don't do enough damage to them to kill them in a reasonable amount of time. That and the aphid user will more than likely find safe cover to hide behind.

Yeah... it was just a hypothetical scenario that frankly has little practical relevance... I'm gonna give up on this one now LOL. Don't want to be known as "the guy who loves zeniths" =_=

I originally had two Pattons in my hanger and every since replacing them, have never looked back. While I can see an Aphid Patton being very good, my experiences with the Patton have been unreliability. I can't bring a Patton onto the field, use it in direct combat and expect it to be usable in the next confrontation. With a golem I can smack a heavy in the face, rip it apart and repeat several times.
Unless I could avoid direct combat using Aphids or Spirals, I would never field a Patton again.

Zenits are a terrible weapon in the hands of a noob, which generally who will use them. I actually take out some Zenit/Gekko/Malot/Noricum combo Tashas from time to time. It is fun to try to land the artillary, and a good change-up from close in and medium range. When leveled up the Zenit is actually useful at around 500-600 meters against a Aphid Patton. The arc and splash allow for an almost 100% hit rate at that distance and the weapon does actually have high damage at level 8+.
Staying mobile, matching the red by walking in the same direction, and staggering the Zenits by shooting 1 while the other re-loads can be effective. Just about every set-up is better than Zenits. Pretty much every single weapon except for Noricums do more damage and will kill faster, and more effeciently allowing for greater target saturation. Zenits are kind of like destriers, useful in the right situation but there is always a better option.
If you are looking to have some fun, leave the light points at level 1 malots, Zenits at level 5 on a level 6 Natty, go random, and try to sandbag your winning % lol.

It can do lots oft damage with two mags and double pinata, but what really makes it good is the fact, that others will hunt you. Since your HP are so low, most enemies consider you easy prey. Lure them away from beacons, damage them, as much, as you can and finish them with your Trident\Tulumbas\Pin-Golem, wich is your next bot, from about 500m afar. I do that really often. Maybe I shouldn't post that, or it wont work anymore...

I play a quad-mag Patton rather aggressively. I do think some changes are necessary..."Aphid Patton" is not a legitimate argument for keeping the current imbalance between the two bots.

I'm running my low silver hanger at the moment. My quad mag Patton is very aggressive. I think it made short work of about 4 bots last battle.

I feel that the quad mag patton is not a good bot because it is so fragile and the weapons get shot off. My patton uses three mags and an ecu and can take out most golems.

That's as good as twin Tridents with only a few seconds longer to cycle. Hydra is safe mode.

Actually: Dual lvl 9 Trident Dmg: 30882 with cycle time of around 13.7 seconds. This is adding the firing time(3.7 sec) and the reload time(10 sec) Triple lvl 9 Hydra Dmg: 29412 with cycle time of 22 seconds. This is adding the firing time(10 sec) and the reload time(12 sec) Misleading much?
