I don't really know how to explain this well.
I don't clan and I have rarely squaded. I have rarely fought against squads. Playing 6/8 heavies plus a pair of Galahads.
Every battle starts this same. Assess who is around me and choose what to do.
After that the battle will usually be hard fought with tipping points, a close eye on the bar, lots of fun, lots of action. Sometimes my teammates are useless and I will see the bar spiral out of reach.
But there is maybe 30% of battles that go differently. Either all the enemy seem to be standing still. Reds drop left right and centre. All the beacons are blue and the game ends in 5 minutes. Or, I go into the field and just disintegrate on sight of the enemy. All the beacons are red and the game ends in 5 minutes
Either way I will look through the summary at the end which shows we were pretty evenly balanced. I look for signs of clan coordination, or over powerful weapons and there is nothing.

I read your post twice and still don't know what the point of this thread is...

Yeah I get that too sometimes. I think it's just luck, be it good or bad. I've had matches where within 4 minutes we're storming Red spawn with 4 to 5 beacons, sometimes I'm still on my first bot. On the flip side I've had matches where the only blue beacon lit up is the one I just flipped, there's at least 3 Reds on me at any given time and I wonder '「whiskey tango foxtrot」 is my team doing!?'
That's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. There's too many variables to list but sometimes you roll out a plasma bot and there's not a shield bot in sight. Yay! Or your plasma wielder gets ganked by a Galahad, two Rhinos and a Raijin. All at once.
Sometimes you have a good run, sometimes you have a bad run. The joys of Randoming I guess.

I read your post twice and still don't know what the point of this thread is... I think his point was the game is balanced reasonably well. He is saying you win some, lose some, get owned now and then, and own sometimes. And not being in a clan may be a way for some to avoid clan squads.

I read your post twice and still don't know what the point of this thread I can not explain it well. Sorry. It is a description of a feeling I get in certain games that just feels like the two teams are working on two different levels I think it's almost metaphysical. A given group of people are working like a well oiled machine, just by chance, The other group Wandering around bewildered wondering 'what just happened?' I feel as if I should have the situational awareness to avoid these complete slaughters for example. It isn't as if I have significantly different equipment.

There are definitely matches where I feel like every time move out from cover I get hammered by what seems like every red at once. But in the same match, if I stay in cover, I'm actually dying from hydras and zenits. It feels like 1 vs 6, even though I see all my teammates are still alive.
On the other hand, there are matches where I feel like it's me vs 6 but I'm wiping the floor with them. Running the same hangar as when I was getting slaughtered.
The joys of MM.

I don't know what it is but for the last couple of days I have been going through a long run of losses, just now I have played 5 games and lost every one without even finishing a game.I am currently trying out different weapon setups to try and change this but I am now down to 48% win rate which is the lowest its been in a long time.

That is exactly the feeling. But you then look at your opponents in the aftermath and think... 'They don't look so awful'?

I get this, play 6/8 heavies too. Very one sided matches at times. Like spawn raiding one sided despite both sides seemingly well matched in terms of bots. Random games are carried by one to two good players and seeing which side has less noobs. It's really hard to win when teams are evenly matched but reds have tridents and treb furies while your team have two zenit Natashas. Even if they have good bots, it doesn't mean they are good players who can contribute to the flow of the match. It just means they have been reading the wiki, forums or to their clan.

There are times when it seems my clan tag is drawing attention to me (especially with the indirect fire weapons - other blues are closer/more injured but I still get to eat the spirals/zenits), but there are other times when my teammates are timid / wandering / sedentary and I'm just the obvious target. I try to keep a close eye on the movement of my teammates and do my best to play off what they are doing, even if it makes limited sense... because getting your head blown off trying to do the right thing on your own isn't a recipe for success either. I have noticed a number of games recently where, upon checking the final summary stats, my strongest ally has scored zero (or close to zero) damage. Everyone else did okay based on what they had, but missing the contribution of that one big hitter essentially determined the outcome of the match and made it feel very lopsided.

Yeah, a lot of AFK players in the past month or so... averaging 1 or more a game, easy. Either on my side or the reds... but almost constant... I have had a rash of DCs lately and I tend to think that is the reason for the AFKs that I see.

I'm glad my stream of consciousness has at least caused some discussion. Sorry for being so vague.
As to the AFK players. I've had disconnects in games - some nights better than others. Absolutely horrible being caught out in the open when it happens. Absolutely incredible when you reconnect 30 seconds later and discover that you have been totally ignored by the enemy.
