Hi everyone, I'm new on the forum and I need your help! I've been saving 2500 gold in order to buy a Galahad, but last update has changed my plans. I was just thinking that galahad has become more vulnerable due to the rocket buff, while the rogatka jump ability may help in this sense. And another question: to avoid plasma, I'd like to level up the punishers mk2 trying to keep the 350 meters distance. How much is ineffective the punishers at that distance? It's just a waste of ag? Thank you in advance!

I would save the gold and wait how things develop once the dashes are out.

Agree with what novinov said, with dash bot on horizon, its better to wait.

Dash has been in the horizon for months. It'll surely come... before Christmas.
Seriously speaking, I think it'll be earliest for Midsummer of northern hemisphere, or maybe the US independence day, but more likely for August/September when many schools are starting and many potential players get new phones etc.
Anyway, so long off that saving for it already now is a gamble... as long as you're happy playing with your current bots, sure. But if you itch to get a bit more power, and are fed up with slowly lumbering Griffins, there's no point to hold off for a month... maybe wait for developer info about next update, and then see what to do.

Since the rocket Buff all Mecha are paper-tigers lol
But I have a Rogatka and two Garaths, which I haven't taken out yet. The Rogatka makes more tactical sense. I'm considering outfitting the Garaths with Gekkos and Molots ..

Nobody knows when the Dash bots will be released to live play, and based on the prices of the Wild West bunch, they (Dash bots) will carry a heavy price tag. So IMHO, simply saving for the "some day" the Dash bots are released is waiting for a day that may be months in the future. And who knows what price you'll have to pay? Would 1 medium Dash @ 5000Au (not an inconceivable asking price) be worth 1 Galahad and 1 Rog?
The Galahad is a great all-around bot, whereas the Rog is a great beacon capper and ambush bot. You'd have to be a skilled Rog driver to go 1 on 1 vs a Griff in a Rog, but a properly leveled Plasmahad can hold its own more easily. I have a Plasmahad and 2 Rogs in my starting lineup, and they're all effective when used properly, when you put/find yourself in the right situation.
Part of the decision depends on what else is in your hangar right now. Maybe post a picture of your hangar or add the bot & weapons details for more accurate advice.

Buy the galahad. Put rockets on him. I do like the rog though. Depends on how you like to play.

I run both Rog is way more fun to play but you need to learn pilot him in skilled hands he can be a nasty little predator (still working on this...) Galla is the more effective bot out of the box the rocket buff hurts him but ther still is plenty of 「dookie」 out there his shild will protect you from

Dash is supposed to be July or August according to the roadmap the devs published.

Don't wait till summer. You can earn your 2500Au back in a month as long as you do your daily tasks and get the most damage/beacons a few times.
I got the Galahad before the Rogatka and I would do it this way over and over again. It was my first ever shield bot, which was extremely welcome for me at that time. You will love being able to finally fend off plasma griffins.
Even after the recent buff, the Rogatka is still a bit 'squishy', as you have to expose yourself to do damage. I love to run my Rogatka, it's super fun, but the Galahad is a super reliable bot that is a valid competitor in all leagues, especially if the pilot is still developing his/her skills. Once you learn corner shooting properly, Galahads can take down Ancile Lancelots, which will plague your gaming experience as you progress higher in the ranks.
Ask yourself this - which bot causes YOU more problems when it's on the other team? Galahad or Rogatka? Your answer is probably the bot you should buy.

Both are squishier now. Rogatka is faster and more manueverable. Firepower is about the same.
Rogatka.
Or two Orkans.

Thanks you all, after your suggestion I decided... to not decide and wait a little bit! Even today I've seen galahads (once very strong) falling down like leaves in november. The rdb is the new fury trident (at least in diamond league)

Rest of your hangar - hangar shot?
Galahad not advisable 'right' now.

a galahad is so so tough and the rog is so so much fun. i like what DarkVagabond said. but also consider your gaming experience derived from having new bots. if you don't care that much than hold on to your money. if you are itching to get into a galahad than get it. and if you do get it you need to consider the time and money to get it to L9 where it starts shining. out of the box its junk (IMO)
The rog will need to orkans as well (2400)
if you have 3 slots - no question that 4th slot should be first. if you have 4 slots and you want to stick with the game 2500 is half way to a 5th slot.

Here's my hangar: (bot/weapon) Leo thunder pinata 9/9 Leo aphids 9/9 Db griffin 9/9 Plasma griffin 9/10 Carnage trident 9/8
I'd like to replace one of my leos with something more funny.

Make sure you have 4x Orkans in total first. I'd replace the Thunder Pinata Leo with a Galahad and not a Rogatka. The Galahad is a competitive bot and the Tulumbas/Pin buff is only going to weaken it, but it's still not going to change the fact that it can kill an Ancile Lancelot in a 1v1 and backpedal Orkans.

Galahad is still a good bot. Just don't start the Galahad as your first bot, as that tends to be bad for multiple reasons. On big maps, all the long range comes out first, all the RDB, Tridents, etc. so the Galahad won't survive long if you're out in the open. Also, on small maps, it tends to be chaotic, so you can be easily outnumbered or flanked, and your bot gets destroyed in an instant. I would play it in the middle or even last and leave it as your trump card, esp. if that is going to be your strongest bot. Hopefully by that time, there's less players left, and all the rockets bots have gone so you don't have to worry about them anymore. This is when the Galahad can shine and turn the tide of battle like its name suggests.
Rogatka is the opposite. I use it as an opener to counter all the light and fast bots out there. It'll take out Gareths no problem. You can hunt them down and get through their shield. You're bound to win any encounters at centre beacon against all the other beacon cappers. By the time heavier reinforcements come, you can decide to retreat or take them on. Once you cap centre, then head right for their base and watch as the pell mell ensues and they're running around like chickens with their heads chopped off.

Get a Gary and save half your money. Gary can stand up to anything and is fast enough to get anywhere on the field.

I love the Rogatka. It is super fun to play and I expected 2.9 to buff the Orkan Rogatka. Unfotunately, the opposite has occurred due to RDB Griffin Apocalypse. The Rog (and Galahad for that matter) are still great bots but they have both been weakened. Only time will tell how they will do as the meta shakes out over the next few weeks.
For now, I would suggest holding the gold for 2 weeks to see what happens.
