DPM of Pinata is probably so poor, that Hellfire (Magnum+Orkan) Rhino is still better option than DB Rhino. With the rocket change, purpose of Rhino shield is more and more just the extra speed. Then again Orkan damage boost cuts both ways, if Rhino gets to its dedtination, it's going to deliver even more hurt. Only way to find out is test both DB and Hellfire... Ok. How about Pins and Orkans on the Rhino? Use pins at 400m make sure you cause some good damage then charge in n aked and fire the Orkans to finish the opponent off? The pins when levelled up can do some good damage and from 400m you will get the chance to beat a retreat if you see that the Orkans will not finish off the target (but most of the time pins can do good damage from level 9 onwards) I've been thinking the same thing... but my best Pins are level 7 only and kinda pointless to even test for this. Other options for long range softening-up are of course Molots and Punishers. If they (or was it just Punishers?) start to eat up physical shields with extra effectiveness, that might be interesting setup. Time of plasma may be truly over, we shall see.

Because it's easy silver/easy kill. Maybe with an inexperienced pilot, but to quote Ron Raul: "As others have pointed out, Rhino draws a response from red team that is ONLY equaled by the response to a Lancelot. Why? Because a bad one is easy meat, but a good one is a major threat to be eliminated at all costs."I think that says it all. Like I said it's not because it's a threat, it a walking bag of do nothing easy money. That's why they get eliminated early on. As has been pointed out in numerous threads before, anything a rhino can wear, a Griffin wears it better.

You're probably playing in the top tiers but I just don't see it at Gold level. I've just been taken down by a well played griffin, but that's the exception rather than the rule, and one of the Orkans was new at level 5. Most of my hangar weapons are level 8 or 9 and the Griffins I take on in my Rhino don't usually outlast the Rhino.

The Magnums just don't have the same impact as rockets against shielded bots. I know you have to wait for a reload but I find that I'm more successful against shielded bots with rockets than Mags. I've tried pins on my Rhino and although they have better range you're going to do most of your fighting close in with Orkans so I think you're better off with Pinatas. I've also tried punishers and they're quite useful for knife fighting too.
