Griffin is better if you are above iOS Diamond and Android Silver-Gold.

All DB setups on Andriod just got a boost from the rocket buffs. Even the mini-DB Galahad is a serious threat now.
The RDB Rhino is something to consider too.
These rockets buffs make many setups viable now and you'll be seeing a lot of diversification.

used to love DB Rhino, had two. Now only use one for old time sake. Griff is better suited for the large burst damage nature of the set up. Even you use Rhino, most time one hide behind cover and wait for targets to shoot.
Rhino does has the advantage of late game cleaning up where you rush to places, kill and get beacon.

DPM of Pinata is probably so poor, that Hellfire (Magnum+Orkan) Rhino is still better option than DB Rhino.
With the rocket change, purpose of Rhino shield is more and more just the extra speed. Then again Orkan damage boost cuts both ways, if Rhino gets to its dedtination, it's going to deliver even more hurt.
Only way to find out is test both DB and Hellfire...

The 2 bots serve different purposes. Rhino can stand in front of plasma for a good while, while dealing massive damage to the reds, as he has the best hard shield in the game. Rhino is good for causing disruption, especially in the spawn area, and holding the beacon for a good while too. (if you have good teammates to watch your back and sides) IMO, DB Rhino is not that great, since Pinata takes so long to reload. So you're just sitting there taking fire, while reloading. Hellfire Rhino is much better. DB Griffin cannot hold a beacon that is out in the open. Both will fall pretty quick from the red's DB bots.

Yep. It depends on your play style too. The best thing to do is try them both and see what works best. Weapons are interchangeable.

Rhino is terribad now, moreso than it was before, if that were even possible. Dont do it. Nope. Rhino is tricky to use...not terrible. I'm running two, one DB and one PDB. Damage is through the roof, even against maxed enemies. Rhino is worth mastering. It'll reward you if you do. Saving for a third...mark my words, Rhino will rise again.

Rhinos get murdered and there isn't a thing they can do about it. Any weapon config a rhino sports, a Griffin wear it better. Its been this way for quite some time now, and the new update just made it 10x worse. Run a rhino if you like, i know ill certainly like seeing them on the red team.

Alright, what I'm seeing, Rhino is High risk- High reward, So I'm wondering, Trident Carnage (I already have the Carnage) or Hellfire/DB Rhino (I already have both DB and Hellfire setups.)?

Am I the only one sensing a major Rhino buff soon? I kinda have the same feeling. It'd fit. However, part of me is saying, if it makes sense, it ain't gonna happen in War Robots...

If the DB Rhino is so poor why does it draw such an aggressive response from the Red side? Park it under the bridge in canyon and suddenly there are all kinds of bots attacking. Give me a Rhino over a Griffin any day of the week. You can't defend anything with a Griffin and it gets gobbled up quick quick trying to attack the centre point of Yamamato. Actually trying to attack anything in the open with a Griffin is suicide.
The secret to a successful Rhino is knowing how to drive it, patience and the right weapons load. I'm about to get my second and will retire my Griff when I have it leveled up. Actually I have a second griff that I use occasionally when I want an extra heavy, but it really is just a standby.

Play a Rhino right and it's more than a match for anything. As others have pointed out, Rhino draws a response from red team that is ONLY equaled by the response to a Lancelot. Why? Because a bad one is easy meat, but a good one is a major threat to be eliminated at all costs. I'm seeing many more Rhinos lately. As in, at least two or three every match. Scary part about the Rhino, the only buff it needs is a faster turn rate with shield raised. If the test server is any indicator...that's what it's going to get. And then, compadres, the Rhino will again become the raging destroyer it once was.

DB? Griffin all the way. Jump > Drop Anchor(shield) for a 300m or less ranged death button bot.
Plasma DB? I am actually switching back to Rhino myself. The extra 50m range of plasma gives some leeway and it's a better Ancilot counter.
Hellfire? Really no idea, I am no longer fond of mixing weapon types anymore.

Hellfire? Really no idea, I am no longer fond of mixing weapon types anymore. IMO Hellfire is the best Rhino setup. Just note that it plays differently than the other setups, and has some special tricks. It's one of the very few cases where mixing ranges and weapon types actually works, because of Rhino shield mechanics.

It's one of the very few cases where mixing ranges and weapon types actually works, because of Rhino shield mechanics. I believe you, a lot of people have and probably still do use it well, I have tried it as well and honestly, my problem is not that others can't make it work, but that I can't wrap my brain around the stutter start and stop, shield up, shield down, 50m difference, different target types/counters, can't rotate but can turn sloooooooooooooooowly and run fast, and dropped anchor but have full firepower and rotation... In the heat of combat, on a phone screen, it gets tedious. Again, freely admit this is more PEBCAC/user error. I either want to suicide bomb (DB), or be a Blaster (PDB) that has a bit more leeway in everything. As time has marched on, I prefer the latter for the Rhino, even over the Griffin currently.

I agree that nothing lasts under the bridge in Canyon, or any central beacon, but the only thing that might last as long as a Rhino is an Ancillot. I depends on the attackers, and whether they come in diagonally. In most games I've played at a Gold level they usually try a frontal attack.

I think the Rhino will rise again too. I see 2.9 bringing the demise of the Galahad and for many pilots the choice of the Rhino in the RDB or DB setup makes sense since they probably already have an L11 or L12 Rhino gathering dust in their inactive hangar. My 3 Rhinos have been shelved for a year, with only the Orkan/Punisher version being brought out to fight Ancilots. Now with 2.9, the Rhino is a good interceptor/flanker in DB mode and more durable RDB than the Griffin against all the MRS and LR energy weapons that have been brought out to swat all the RDB/DB Griffs being created. if Pix ever gives the Rhino its Assault speed going backwards, the Rhino will be forever in a top tier pilot's hangar. IMO the latest rocket buff benefits the Rhino and I believe the Rhino is back.

How about Pins and Orkans on the Rhino? Use pins at 400m make sure you cause some good damage then charge in naked and fire the Orkans to finish the opponent off? The pins when levelled up can do some good damage and from 400m you will get the chance to beat a retreat if you see that the Orkans will not finish off the target (but most of the time pins can do good damage from level 9 onwards)
