There is definitely strategy involved on Yamantau. If you're fighting another decent clan or even just high silver/low gold players who know what they're doing, then it's one of the maps that rewards good strategy the most, and punishes bad strategy the worst. hmm, can you explain what strategy works on here? Maybe I would like it more if I had something other than "make it to the center beacon alive by dodging noricums & Kang-Daes" type of thing. there is very little cover besides the actual center beacon, so trying to move towards red team is always just a slaughter fest.. This is the only map where long and mid-range bots have all the advantage, whereas other maps favor knife-fighting bots, so its the only one I struggle on because all I use are knife-fighters

Makes for a slow game but it's a surefire way of winning. If midrangers push up a bit you will need team support, but the same is said for most other maps. Trying to flank to the enemies side beacon is a death run, but can be effective if the enemy team is unaware. I have tried pushing past the center beacon many times with knife fighters with no success. Pushing past center in knife fighters only works in a squad or a good team of randoms (and goodluck finding one of those ).

I will even go so far as to say, take centre beacon and then retreat. The ramp in behind centre beacon isn't as easy to get to with tridents. Unfortunately aphids and hydras seem to get everywhere.

Unfortunately aphids and hydras seem to get everywhere. if there is an aphid user on the enemy team with some strong backing close by it, along with not much support from your team, then don't expect to win that match

Hate Yamantau with every fiber of my being. haven't played it in weeks. every time it pops up i just hit bail. Springfield is my favorite especially when i'm just capping beacons to get a gold task or to get a win total. it's funny that so many people hate springfield when i have no trouble playing that map. the one flaw i can find are all the noobs who have no idea how this game works. springfield is one of the worst maps for noobs not having a clue that you must capture beacons. they can chase down a bot, kill it, then walk off from the beacon 10 sec walk from them that needs to be capped cause "oooOOooOO.. i must chase down another bot to get another kill" .. cause you know.. that's how you win a match

thanks @camper & Moody, I'll try that out, but thats exactly why I don't like Yamantu. first, "take center beacon and retreat" is the most boring strategy, but the fact that trident, zeus & aphid users have such a huge advantage on this map just grinds my gears. Vicious Jester, totally agree, I personally really like Springfield, but thats probably because i still use a lot of light/medium bots. for people using leos & other heavy bots, i understand why they would hate it. maybe they should make Springfield only available for bronze & silver tier (ppl who mostly use light bots) so that fixes the Tour-De-France problem people have?

lol everyone who hates Springfield obviously does not run Aphid gepard, mini DB Gareth, or even Aphid stalker. All are fine in top tier and especially help win SF matches. I'm probably biased because I like long distance maps, they make planning and brainstorming fruitful. You don't have to use long range weapons when speed becomes so significant (although a slow heavy sniper can control light's paths). You can keep your short range dumbfire thinking to yourself

DC Tight corridors everywhere, uneven terrain, small. Not sure about a map, but if you are talking about a woman then.
