Although this is my first post, I've been playing for quite a while. I'm a pretty casual player, but my hanger is okay. Because time is limited and don't usually spend cash on games, I don't tend to have a lot of gold to spend on stuff. I've read Strayed's gold purchase list and am glad to see I stand pretty well vs the list. I already have my 5th slot open, a handful of Orkans, and a few Rogatka's, Zeuses, Aphids, Gekko's, and Gepards. I mostly play as a bit of a knife-fighter in iOS Diamond 2.
Thanks to the anniversary event, I'm finally approaching 5000 gold again. I have none of the knight-bots so I'm considering getting a Galahad or Lancelot.
In doing a bit of reading, there seems to be a school of thought that either or both will become less valuable in the future with coming developments for a rush ability.
Could some of you folks recommend a path (or few) forward?
Thanks a bunch!

Consider this. The only hard counter to a Lance is another Lance. TT players use The Thunder ork lance to counter the Ancilot. The TT Fury lost it's dominance because of the Ancilot. In most encounters the Ancilot will come out on top except against a Thunder Ork Lance and a Plasma Galahad.
So ask yourself this, how many Lances do you see in your game? If you see more than 4 or 5 Lances per game you are probably better off getting a Lance yourself. If you see more Griffins and Brit bots than the Galahad is fine.
The Galahad is great bot and I would rank it second to the Lance.

A galahad can take out a lance. It takes forever and you'll come out a without a shield but it is doable.
Edit: Lancelots are incredibly boring to play.

The Thunder Ork can boost and chase you down. You have a choice or raising the shields against the thunder but risk being blasted by Orkans or lowering the shield and eat the thunder fire.

The Galahad is great bot and I would rank it second to the Lance. In my games, it's a reasonably even split between Lance, Galahad, and Griffins. Most Lances are are of the Ancile variety and most Galahads are Plasmas. Personally, I have more trouble fighting the Galahads. I can often out maneuver the Lances and eventually wear them down (or help comes) and Griffins take a fair amount of damage while getting their shots in. The shield on the Galahad is a PITA, though, and unless I can hit them from the side/rear, I try to get away to hit again when they're distracted. 1v1 without distractions, I typically lose vs a Plasmahad. Since I used to exclusively play in Bronze/Silver before the new MM came out (and I quickly took a break from the game from frustration), I'm still behind the curve with upgrading my bots and weaponry. I'm slowly getting caught up, though. As my hanger/loadout levels up, my difficulties should improve, too. My issues are generally not due to tactics it's more from being outgunned or some of my bots still being weak/slow. From what I'm gathering, it doesn't really sound like there's a wrong move to make, just a debate of which is better to go for first?

Also consider the possible Orkan and rocket buffs on the next update. This won't affect the Ancilot as much as it would the other bots.

Or you could turn your shield facing the Lancelot and run sideways to avoid all the damage.
