Mag/mag/taran is the most versatile setup.
I also like mag/mag/orkan, which is a good counter to other plasma Galahads at the beginning of the match when you need to grab and hold beacons. I don't like aphid/taran build, but I know some people does.

Plasma Galahad is the best. Aphid Taran is OK, but it looks better than it perform. Orkan Pinata is a Plasma Galahad killer but I would only use it if there are not a lot of Anciles.

If I only have 1 Galahad, it's all Plasma. IF I only have 2? Usually, also... all Plasma.
If I do run something different on the 2nd, I run Ork Aphids instead of Taran. Mainly because the Ork playstyle, for me, lends itself to the Aphid playstyle better than Taran. What I mean by that, is that I play the Galahad with Aphids on the light spots as an Aphid bot more than as a Taran or Ork bot. Meaning, I stay as much in cover as possible and try to hit and run and flank... exactly like I would in a Patton Aphid or a Leo Aphid.
Tarans seem to do better in sustained engagements, exposing the bot more. Orkans are much more apt to playing a hit and run game: Come out of cover to change position and to shoot... but then find cover again, asap. Orkan AND Aphids hitting at once is a lot more quick damage than Taran. Granted, there is a range difference between Ork and Aphid, and there is a case to be made for the Aphid Taran being a better kite bot... meaning: stay out of range until Aphids are ready to fire, shoot, then back out, regardless of cover. If you are pursued instead of allowed to leave the area, you can shoot back with the Taran better than with the Ork. I can see both being valid... but I prefer the shoot and scoot burst style, personally.
IMO, YMMV

I was considering: Gekko×2+Orkan
.. but that's my playstyle

The Orkan piñata Galahad seems to be in vogue especially for those with multiple Galahads. Usually the Orkan piñata variety is deployed first to deal with the popular brit bots.

I run two 2 Galahads with full Plasma but have tried just about every build. Aphid Orkan is fun but when comparing it to other Aphid builds, the reticle is smaller meaning you can't shoot around corners as well as you can in others. In my Patton I can almost turn to a full 90° to shoot around corners without exposing myself. In a Galahad you can only turn maybe 60° meaning you have to expose yourself more. Orkan Pinata only does 98,000 damage in one Salvo (assuming everything is maxed) which will leave the other Galahad with enough health to chase you down and break your shield. True but in all likelihood you would probably end up killing the other galahad at the expense of your shield. So you are still coming up ahead.

Yup, if I'm running the Splashahad and I don't kill a rival Plasmahad with a full salvo, put shield to the side, turn so it faces him, and RUN! lol Get to a corner and by then your Ork should be reloaded enough to finish it if you can get around that corner and catch him just as he reaches it from his side, and then retreat to another corner, where, if they weren't before your Pinatas will be reloaded and ready to ensure the kill. Again, another build that will benefit from the coming rocket retooling... having even a small amount of Pinatas reloaded will help a lot in situations like this.

I have a single Galahad to my name, and I'm currently running it with the Mag / Ork combo. It's not quite as much raw damage as the full plasma or rocket builds, but combining the two makes it dead useful in just about any situation except ranged support. I can peel plasma Britbots and Carnages off of a beacon, I can still corner-peek with it nicely, and it's great for going in on a teammate's six to provide back-up.

I don't have a Galahad, but the ones I have the toughest time with is Mag/Mag/Taran. The constant damage from the Mags and the Taran is a pain since I use a lot of Heavies.

Why no mention of a plasma/orkan build?

Meta: all plasma For fun: play what you like. I have done hellfire (mag + orkan) with some ok results...but now run two full plasma galahads. They are my go to bots and workhorses.

I run two plasma. I've tried all the common load outs. Always come back to plasma. Very versatile and good against Ancilots.

Why no mention of a plasma/orkan build? That's what my post in this thread is about.

Gotta add: Just tried a few matches with Aphid / Aphid / Orkan, and I'm freaking loving it. Bursty as hell, chunks damage down in big enough swipes that it makes most Reds backpedal in confusion. It's an axe-murderer. :-D

My personal preference for a Galahad load-out would be Plasma Galahad and Hellfire Galahad which is a good counter for red's Galahads. By the way, I'm still saving up for a Galahad though.
