I'm still struggling a bit to get the most out of my Rhino. I've tried several different combinations, including Hellfire, DB, PDB, RDB, and even Punisher. I think I just need to settle on one build and practice with it. What is everyone's preferred build and why?

Plasma Rhino is the best, but if I had to pick, I wouldn't use a Rhino anymore.

Hellfire Rhino! You need the burst, when you lower your shield.

Plasma Rhino is the best, but if I had to pick, I wouldn't use a Rhino anymore. I have to admit I find Galahad much easier to pilot, but dammit I have all that firepower sitting there collecting dust that I want to use! My current hanger has a thunder/ork Lance, two Plasmahads, a DB Griff, and an experimental 5th slot that I change up a lot (I picked up the Lance and a Galahad during the event, and they've forced the Rhino from regular rotation). I typically use either a Trident/Pin Leo, an ELO (Zeus/Gekko Leo), or a Zeus/Gekko Nat for mid-range support in that 5th slot, but they're somewhat limited on some of the maps and I keep thinking I should be able to utilize that Rhino to better effect. I've had some amazing exploits in the Rhino, but I've had many more missions that fell flat on their face (due to poor piloting). I'm hoping a bit of practice will fix that.

I prefer the Hellfire but started using the Rhino with a DB. I think that came with some hard lessons about entries and exits that helped me learn to be a better pilot more quickly. There is no margin for error with the DB or it becomes a quick run ending in a blaze of glory. I've read the PDB is more effective when you get to higher tiers, but I haven't taken to it yet (iOS D1, so I may still come to use it).
The more you run a Rhino the easier it gets to handle so my advice is to just keep at it. It's my opening power runner every match, except right now due to the event & tasks.

I use all the builds of Rhino. It depends on how my hanger looks. Plasma, DB, Hellfire, Tulumbas/Magnum, etc.

Orkan/Punisher Rhino.
The Punishers are used to take down Anciles at the 350-400m range to assist blue TT Furies and RDB setups.
The Orkans provide the punch to handle the energy shieldless Ancilots after that --- and at least make those pesky Gareths wary of you.
This setup does well against DB Griffs too, as the Punishers don't deliver neglible damage at 300-350m ranges --- which forces the Griff to think twice about trying to close the distance on you (and you have two Orkans to make them choose an easier target).
Overall, I prefer Punishers to Mags, Aphids, or Pinatas as the light weapons on a Rhino, the Punishers give you more engagement options and slightly mitigate the fact that the Rhino is sorta immobile at true knifer distances.

DB.
When you need to dump a full salvo of short-range rockets on a Red, you might as well go all the way.

Hellfire by far. for the rhino it is the most useful.

I will admit I have not tried Hellfire yet. Maybe I will and see if that doesn't change my preference.

Was using hellfire, but since I won an Aphid in the event, I am currently trying an exotic configuration.
Two Orkans, one Aphid on the right side, one Ecu on the left side.
I didn't know what to put to complete the Aphid, that's why I try the Ecu. It's not bad, add a bit of durability.

He's a griffin without dodge skills, just placed on the ground as a slow tower with good potential, but with ecus he 's only more funny to hit

I love the logic of this, I may have to dust off the old dung beetle and give it a whirl.

I'm not very good with a Rhino but tried the Punisher/Orkan setup after Team Alpha Strikes description and found it very effective. Did better with it than the Hellfire I was trying before. My Punisher are only level 7 but did a surprising amount of softening up, sometimes I only needed the guns for a kill.
At one point I got in the bubble of a Taran Fujin, hitting it with guns until the Tarans reload then drop shield, unload Orkans, then shield up for the next round of Tarans. Fujin must of been leveled up because it took several rounds for the kill and it actually blew my shield off at the end there. Only the 4th time I've seen a Rhinos shield blown off.
There should be a cutesy name for this build.
