I got Rhino Instead of Fujin; bad idea?
If it is a wrong turn, can you please explain to me why?

It's a bad choice if you don't have 4x Tarans and Magnums each, and 2x Tridents.

Yeah, agree with SATmaster728, not really comparable. However, in the current meta, both have their uses. Just depends on what you were looking for. Both have a learning curve... Rhino is much harder to be good with. Learn to drive it well before deciding on it. Give it a week or two of constant play. And don't try and just charge in to the fray... take your time, position yourself to flank with it, and you will do well. Plasma variant is pretty good for that.

That rhino will work. I'd rather arm it with magnums instead of pins so that you can constantly shoot. Then learn to drop shield, shoot tulumbas and up shield quickly is the correct method of play. That'll give you MRS and also close range plasma.
You'll be looking to do long range damage while still being able to bring heat into a close fire-fight.
Dejnov.

The Rhino becomes outclassed by the Griffin at around Diamond 1-2. Bring your Rhino to lvl 8, put some Plasma on it and start upgrading Griffins.

I think you'll get more use out of the Rhino. It's really tricky to pilot, but I think it will make you better in the long run. It's not a bot that I'm great with, but I've played with it just enought to know what to do and what not to do.
Don't think you are invincible because you have a shield. Unlike your Gary, the Rhino will draw all the fire from every bot in the neighborhood. And you have no reverse. Don't rush into the middle of a fire fight unless your on a suicide mission (which is sometimes ok). I've often used a DB Rhino to drive into a pesky Ancile and unload. You'll die shortly thereafter, but it's sometimes the only way to clear a big threat. Do use your charge speed for beacon capping Do avoid rockets at all costs.
