So, I really want that event Rog. To make the grinding better and faster, I'm thinking of getting a Gareth. I have just enough gold now, and still time to upgrade it to be effective.
If I don't get the Gareth now, then instead of it I'll probably have a 7/7 RDB Griffin, or a capper Cossack 9, or a 6/7 Zeus-Gecko Leo, or a 6/6 Trident Natasha. And of course 1250 more Au.
I kinda have the weapons for Plasma Gareth too (will have to replace one Mag with a Punisher and use one lower level Taran in my PDB, or something else slightly sub-optimal).
The obvious risk is winning a 2nd (or even 3rd, that'd be just so typical) Gareth from the event. I could live with 2 Gareths though, because I just hate running slow bots, and would love a Stalker-Gareth-Gareth-Rogatka-Carnage/Rhino hangar. So not a big risk here...
Should I just grind 2 weeks with my current bots, or get my 1st Gareth?

Just buy 3 or 4 Stalkers.

Just buy 3 or 4 Stalkers. I don't have the WSP to do that before the event, so not an option...

The problem is we dont uet lnow the other requirements to get the event rog. The other 4 tasks might be something Gareth isnt well suited for.
I say get a gareth if you want one, but not because of event.
The odds of winning the event rog are likely on par with opening the super chest through play alone. I hope not, but seems likely.

I can't speak for event since I don't know what will be in the event. However, I think Gareth is pretty good at lover level when there aren't many Tridents Fury. You can save your WSP for Taran, Magnum, Trident or Carnage without buying a Stalker and be an effective beacon runner if you have a Gareth.

Don't get a Gareth. A Trident Fury can rip 3/4 of its health out in 1 salvo which will severely impair your ability to capture beacons.

Don't get a Gareth. A Trident Fury can rip 3/4 of its health out in 1 salvo which will severely impair your ability to capture beacons. TT Furys are rather rare beasts in Silver... at least currently in Android Silver. Usually no more than one or two in a battle. But more importantly, the way league based MM works, if TT Furys become so common they impair my ability to help win battles with Gareth, then being last in damage most of the time makes me drop in leagues like a Cossack hit by maxed Trebuchet Fury in midjump. That's the beauty of this league system, you can literally run anything, and you will be competitive (and it only takes a few hundred games with a stable hangar to get to the right league level...). In other words, I can play with Gareth (or even a Destrier), and remain competitive in the league level I get to.

Do you see Trident Carnages then? 1 salvo takes 1/2 of your health off.

Do you see Trident Carnages then? 1 salvo takes 1/2 of your health off. There are some, sure, but Trebs and Zeus are a lot more common threat than Tridents, and the shield of Gareth should be very valuable against those. Trident players tend to prefer heavier, slower or camper prey anyway, because it is possible to miss with Tridents. Relatively speaking, Tridents are not a major concern in Silver.

Then if you really want a Gareth and have 4x Orkans, at least 2x Aphids and a Galahad, go for it.

Save your gold. If you don't win a Rog, you'll be halfway to buying one. Nobody knows how hard it will be to actually win it, but it's a safe bet that it will be extemely difficult.
Historically, events are a great way to boost your gold and silver income. So, if you're already halfway there, you'll be even closer after the event.
Another consideration is that you will probably want Gareth OR Rog in your hangar, not both. Rog is basically an OP light bot, and having more than 1 light bot in your hangar at any given time is going to limit your potential on the battlefield.

Do you see Trident Carnages then? 1 salvo takes 1/2 of your health off. Same with Galahad. Everything has a nemesis. I have had a gareth save a game for me so many times. A gareth is fast enough that it can go the long way around and avoid a lot of midrange.
