I am now just getting to put Ancile on Lancelot L10
Currently running L10 Thunder / Orkans.
Will switch out to L11 Tarans when Ancile is leveled up.
I run in Diamond I, I see Gold to Champion tier 12/12 Hangars.
My only experience with Ancile is L8 Carnage with Tridents. I am wondering when the Ancile will really kick in, when will it be an equal or better trade to go with the Tarans, wait till level x??
I also run a L10 Plasmahad and the Taran swap will give me 2x Orkan L9 Griffins. I will maintain balance of 2 Plasma & 2 Splash along with my TT Fury.
What are your recommendations and experiences please.

It is already decent at level 7. Mine is only 9 but it does a decent job.

PS. half the time I use an orkan Ancilote. It's not unusable.

I think around level 10 is where you can handle multiple trident volleys, or (not and!) a full DB, and not just fold.

As others have stated, you'll really start liking it around 10, but, lower than that is still serviceable, just be more careful, when you shield is depleted, back out for a bit and let it recharge a bit before battling more.

Yeah I can survive for quite a while with an Ancile at level 8... not bad at all even there. Most of the peeps I see solo are using 9-11 tridents, too. So, I think you will be able to get use out of it where you usually play from about 8 or 9 and up.

I'm bull headed, I started using it on my lvl 6 lancelot when it was only a lvl 5. It's now at a lvl 9.... I feel its useful even at lvl 7. Mentioned above, be careful with it at first. I still corner shoot, and try to not depend on it. unless my hp is super low. then i'll back off for a while until its almost fully charged...

I have gold now & waiting for Taran to finish up. Trying to time it right but had some good battles and aquired some extra Au!
I will have tomorrow & will try to speed up with Au to get it up to speed!
Not to much left on my wish list except time on upgrades!

My Lancelot is L10 & will have L11 Tarans when I put Ancile on - are you using Orkans or Tarans? When I purchased the second Lancelot, which I knew the Ancile would go on, I ran taran ancile. But for me, I find I like the thunder taran combo. I used to run three boa's, one thunder taran, one thunder orkan and ran the third stock. I always liked the damage the thunder taran gave. Using ancile with the tarans, my "play style", or the fact that I kind of suck as a player I found that set up didn't work for me. I switched the ancile to the ork set up, and that one seems to work much better for me. I'd advise to run the Lance with ancile and tarans, as well as the orks. See which one you have better luck with. There are times I wish I had the thunder with the orks. I do have extra thunders laying around. But for now, the ancile seems to work just fine. The tarans I would find myself in sticky situations. Both weapons have to load, but with tarans they stop firing. so when I had an enemy that was super close to running out of hp. I'd just stand there running in circles waiting for the tarans to load. With the orks, you can still fire until that red is dead. Then let them load to full salvo. Just keep in mind that an ancile will not make you invincible. Its just going to help you last longer. I've been running the ancile ork for about a week now, and am just starting to get used to it. Enough so that I was able to last almost half a match with just the ancile ork lance. (It was the last half of the match in which it was one out of two blue bots left standing.) |

A Trident Fury does 4500 cycle dps and the initial burst is 60k, so you will survive 2 salves (120k in 17s) with HP to spare, and even if you get caught in the crossfire between two of those beasts (or a RDB Griffin, who has the same burst damage) you'll take only minimal damage. If the Ancile is only level 9, it has 70k and regenerates 2100, that means the Ancile is down for the last Trident volley, and in the crossfire you get almost full damage from one enemy. |

Mine is at level 9 at this point. I plan on my ancile and Zeus' going to lvl 12 while the rest of my weapons are at 10. of course, I have to get everything to 10 first lol |

According to the wiki, an Ancile level 8 = Carnage Ancile level 7.
My experience has been that it works great from level 6 up. Mine is at level 8 and I play Silver 2.

However just swapped to Thunder Orkan and loving it - average damage up 50k.

However just swapped to Thunder Orkan and loving it - average damage up 50k. This is why i recently stopped using the ancile. Its great even at lvl 9, but the loss of extra fire power. REALLY noticed it when I added a thunder to both sets up, one thunder/ork, the other thunder/taran. Damage goes WAY up! The Thunder taran combo is just deadly! |

I would say level 10 against max or near max bots. That is my only experience.
