wow. been playing for a few months and i'm over it already. shortest pay to play game I've ever played.
the pros
concept of fighting robots, where there is no blood guts violence and its is only destruction and braking machines. good fun.
the very big con!, and only one i can really find which is very bad. $$$$$$$$$$
disappointed in deceptive rip off, to pay money for any Duplication of weapons, components, pilots etc. of the basic already obtained items, this is very deceptive business and a, rip off, cheap or whatever you want to call it. to me its called BAIT!
A deceptive sales tactic to persuade people to spend money on things they MAY or MAY NOT get showing visual items, tricking them into thinking they will get what they see. to call components a Reward, Free, bonus or a gifts etc. is a lie. its bait to spend more $$$$$ to get anything to use. its BAIT!
this is deception by the design, the developer's can change the random settings, but by designed they duplicate items and keep your money and bait you to spend more. THEY CAN CHANGE IT! So it is very misleading borders on theft to me. just my opinion
i REMEMBER, THE POLICY. when you spend your hard earned money here. in reality you have nothing when game END any time (its all VIRTUAL!!)
i don't care for this tactic. i see a turnover of players, and understand so sad, i kind of liked it. thank for the fun.
well bye.

Welcome to War Robots and the forums.
We’ve been trying to warn people, well I have, since 2017.

Yep, for sure, Pixonic is very deceitful, underhanded, greedy, despicable, and every other negative trait you can come up with. We did try to warn you.
"Hi and welcome. I think you`ll find there`s more older ones on here (and some in our 60s) than you might expect to find playing a robot fighting game. There is still fun to be had in the game but you`ll also soon find that it`s very, very, very, geared towards making you spend money on it".
"Endobot: You weren't quite clear enough in the above: "There is still fun to be had in the game but you`ll also soon find that it`s very, very, very, very, very, very, very, frackin' geared towards making you spend money on it."
That's better. You're welcome.
rambodave: Welcome! Have phun. Set a budget and TRACK YOUR SPENDING".

Well at least you caught on quickly, imagine if you tried to rationalize or ignore it for years like some unfortunate souls did. Good luck on wherever life takes you next!

Still waiting for that better mobile shooting game to show up in the app store so until then, I'm happy to play the Stockholm syndrome victim.

“deception by design” is pretty much a general descriptor of this world though. Successful models are always used and/or copied.
Many of us here have been playing for years and are well aware of the conditions/compromises of continuing to play. Fact of life is that criminals just happen to own and operate one of the absolutely coolest rock em sock em robots games/psy op scams that ever existed. Some of us can afford to blow a few bucks once in awhile knowing full well that a screw job of varying degrees is right around the corner. Others have morals and principles and codes and stuff.

Well of course, but none of us are in denial of what is going on. On 6 Pack for instance there are a couple of people who regularly post their hangars of 5 maxed Curies or Ochotokis like they are hot stuff, and the most we can do is politely say “This crowd is not into that kind of stuff” to avoid driving them off. Realizing there is no satisfaction to be gleaned from this game besides what you create for yourself (nothing wrong with self-satisfaction, you just have to realize that it all you can have) is often what shatters their glass castle. It is infinitely better to learn this sooner rather than later.

All computer games (or tablet games), where you buy things in-game are the same. They're all the same. Every single one of them. At no point are you ever in control of how much damage your thing does or how much damage a thing can receive before being inoperable.
You are never buying a thing to own, you are spending money to save real world time to get something that would otherwise take time to grind to get.
A large part of the spending in War Robots involves gambling, which in itself is a way to get people hooked on spending money.
What gives something its value in War Robots? * Is it rarity? No, once the thing has been created, making 10 or 10,000,000 of them has very little cost (unlike a phone) * Is it expensive materials? No, every item is just an object stored in a computer database.
That's not to say that War Robots is cheap, there's developer time, artist time, etc, that needs to be paid for in order to bring an item to life. Lets say, for the sake of an argument, that it takes a team of 10 people 4 months to create a new thing. Because they're Russian, lets say that it's USD$20,000/month (in total) to create said thing. To break even, 1000 of said things need to be sold at USD$20 ea. The problem Pixonic have is what do they create to keep people handing over $20 every month to pay for that team of people - the answer is devalue what was create last month through nerfs while creating something new that has unique abilities that make it desirable to have.
There's no intrinsic value of anything in War Robots - or any other online game. You're only ever buying convenience.
