In the latest event the blue maxipads sees the arrival of everyone's favourite bot, Ochokochi. Unless it has been nerfed to 10% of its original capability, I can see rise of this bot in numbers throughout the lower leages really driving people away. Why? NS I
Because the whole forcefield thing pushes you around and they're hard to strike back at.
That makes me think, why would Pixonic introduce such a bot? A) fleece whales B) drive the non-whales away
I think it is well established that player numbers are dwindling and it is also well established that nothing is being done to keep players that aren't paying $,
When I put all that in the blender between my ears, what comes out is that Pixonic want the game to go away but are too afraid to just turn it off.

As a very small Orca (and growing smaller by the day) Pix continues to dis-incentivize me/us from spending. "OOOoo this is OP! Looks fun! Lemme buy and level it." Only to have Pix nerf stuff time, and time, and time again. I want an Eiffel with bendies, duh, I think I own one unleveled titan bendy weapon. Bedwetter Bedwyr with flames looks fun but i won't be buying that either.
I really want a bunch of zappy weapons, but nooooooo, they'll get nerfed. I'll wait, TYVM.

last thing I technically bought were a few of my unicorns(arachnids), and that was a yr or 2 ago. Think I phased out of minnow class and sunk to amoeba. hahaha

The ochosucky is very killable now. As is ophion. Bring em on. I don’t pay anymore and am having fun again. So I’m good with where we are.

i spend 15 dollars a 3 weeks ago for a reaper crisis which bumped me into champs...
might be the last time I spend money on this game lol

Ochotoki got smacked with the nerf hammer, so it being in the cheap data pads does not mean much. As for the free to play experience, I think Pixonic does not care about it at all. Pixonic only focuses on the whales since they are where the money is (a practice literally called “whaling” in the game industry), leaving the free players with algorithm-generated offers to maybe get a few dollars out of them. I do think the player base has shrunk enough to make them be a little concerned (hence all the freebies lately as well as somewhat increased community interaction), but it seems Pixonic just lets whatever happens to them as a result of their whaling tactics happen. To them, we are chum for the whales, so as long as we are simply playing matches, nothing else matters.

My Son showed me that the ChodiMochi ability can push away phased bots. He went at one with a Cruel Angler, and got smacked back while phased with the Angler ability, and I THINK took damage. That doesnt make a damn bit of sense to me.
With Pigsonic, its hard to tell if thats intentional or a huge blunder.

Their current pattern is absolutely game-destructive. They’ve never really cared about F2P, but now they are driving out the mid-tier spenders. I’ll still spend for fun, but not this crap. |
