Because the Meta is turning people off playing - well at least for me.
I was playing the first game in about a week, a red Ochkochi got in the blue spawn zone, and after it killed me without me even scratching it, I just quit and haven't been back. But this problem isn't new to Ochkochi, I've been zapped by Crisis/Reaper within seconds and my response is the same.
Maybe Pixonic just don't care about F2P any more and are simply trying to build a product that the whales will keep on handing over money to be on top with. They don't need people for that, they just need some kind of automated thing for the whales to shoot and be happy about shooting.

Interesting to see if whales would actually stick around and still "invest" if it was just them vs each other and some irrelevant NPCs.
I think the only time whales complain is when they get out whaled by a larger species but everyone wants to "be like Mike" so they keep investing.

I think the biggest spenders would care whether they are fighting bots or real players. Beating up real players is like some power trip for them I would imagine. Don't know for sure. I am pretty sure though that Pixonic doesn't give a rats 「bum-bum」 about the F2P players. If they can replace them with bots and not lose any revenue, they will do just that.

Because NPC’s don’t have emotions, judgement or reason, so they can’t get disgusted and leave the match early

Because NPC’s don’t have emotions, judgement or reason, so they can’t get disgusted and leave the match early I guess they could program them to rage quit. 🤣

Does Pixonic make more from ad views than they have to spend on infrastructure to support F2P players? That the question!

I would guess that the real point of why they came up with Extermination was to develop and perfect AI bots that could then be introduced into the real game to shore up the numbers. Why else would they spend time and effort on a part of the game that gave out such good rewards whilst not really forcing the usual obscene amounts of spending.

This might be why they're so weak. For instance, the spiders are meant to attack en masse, but instead some get stuck behind walls or around corners, etc.

Because NPC’s don’t have emotions, judgement or reason, so they can’t get disgusted and leave the match early They can't be bargained with, they can't be reasoned with. The don't feel pity! Or remorse or fear and they absolutely will not stop!... ever... until you SPEND!
