About this video.
Have people been having similar experiences? What have been the results of the "beneficial" silver rush in lower leagues?
Its obvious what Pixonic were thinking when they introduced this. More food for the whales.

i personally don't think the silver rush has anything to do with it since while it's easier to get silver ...if you don't have gold to speed it up it still takes days for it to level up anything , 5-6 days at a time means the silver rush means nothing really unless you buy gold.
the BIG part of the problem is everyone is being pushed up the leagues by hidden bonus's (not viewable to players) to points earned in games ....i've seen a great many many games with people having level 9 or lower gear (mk1) in top expert to high masters ...places they shouldn't be with that gear at all, don't get me wrong there are some skilled players but this many should be impossible and they are literally fodder (free kills) to anyone with a brain or high level gear ....this is happening to feed the spenders , i've seen on forums and FB pages these high spenders time and time again bragging about how good they are but they are literally facing what might as well be cossacks but it's the pixonic way of feeding the sharks.
i've been around a while and through that time it took a long while to learn and master bots but now you just jump into games and boom you're promoted , boom promoted again and you don't have to put in any effort while before it took time to learn to play smart , these days everything is so simplistic.
then you have the rigged matchmaking system that this is absolutely abysmal ....you have low expert to master ones (in super low level gear) mixed with high champs with max meta everything and it's just a feeding frenzy for champ players and it's done this way to feed the ego of players and make them think they are good and spend more.

killmenow I didn't think about the gold cost. However gold is somewhat cheaper than silver, so maybe more players purchased that. Since memoriam, it isn't as hard to get anymore. Pixonic pretty much only want us to use it for speeding up upgrades now.

Great video Wolfy!
The new system doesn’t benefit casual f2p players but benefits the more hardcore f2p that were stuck in high Masters.
Casual f2p don’t have the rss to keep up in the upgrade marathon.
I noticed some hardcore f2p players who had a expert-masters level hanger now have genuine low level champ hangers because of changes such as allowing small YouTubers to host latest drone and bot giveaways and also giveaway 7 weapons as well the big increase in the number of YouTubers hosting. Also PvE was a massive game changer!
Most f2p aren’t hardcore grinders so your video makes a lot of sense 👍👍👍

I guess the other thing that they factored into; "Evil Plan #98 - Silver Rush", is that they`re missing out on revenue now from people buying all the MK2 bots & weapons in offers and therefore not spending to level that stuff to MK2, so have now made it far more expensive for them to level stuff further and thereby raking back some of that lost revenue.

So, personally, I like it. It's how much upgrades should cost across the board to begin with.
However;
It's easy to buy silver and equipment, and there really isn't a mechanism to separate the skilled from the non-skilled. So new players buy 「dookie」, level it up and then dominate their "peers", rising in league solely based on equipment, and then get to masters and start playing with champion league players. Then the vast gaps
in experience and healthy play habits becomes super apparent. And there's no going back; they are addicted to the power they bought but don't understand how to properly use and fail over and over. Adrian is always complaining about how players don't live up to their hangars potential and hasn't really seemed to figure out
why; and it's because they don't spend NEARLY enough time in their appropriate league to garner the skills they'll need later on to survive and thrive in champion league. But they'll chase that power forever, and never get any better as a player.
They'll blame their results on ANYTHING but themselves; matchmaker, being out spent, internets, the depths of their denial goes on and on. And then they wind up on one of our teams, struggling to figure out why they always get vaporized when they blindly charge around a corner.
And then we lose.

And to expand on what Thunderkiss , you get rage. Either rage quit or rage spend. You arent gonna go out like that, not gonna let some unknown person in another part of the world beat you, at an online game! Hell no. So you spend to get even with someone you may never play against again. Had a bout of it recently when I logged in for a few matches and haven’t played in a while. After 4 games I was getting flustered with nothing but Ophion/oochicooochie/newton love fests. It’s annoying as hell when you just get tossed around like a ragdoll. They need to dial back the magic and special abilities and get more back to basics. Skills, tactics, a game plan of sorts. Youll have a beacon runner or two, a few killers looking to dominate, and then some that play the field according to TEAM NEEDS. And THATS why I run a juiced up healer Weyland. Mid match that comes out around the time a few titans drop in. Keep them functioning longer by healing them up gives your team longevity.

Hello all,
Almost ftp since start of crises era.... Ive been able to upgrade at a decent pace with how ive always played. Tue change in silver didnt seem to have a ton of impact. I kinda just accepted that one i guess.the main diwn point is i am not getting any new gear.... Pehaps a single wep here and there.
I feel I'm a better tactician than fighter. Ive was that take my new stuff and shove it up your face. Lol like many of the ochos i see.... Its funny to me..... Now.
Having to make do with what i have now that i dont spend and have to maximize what i have and what works. I am noticing and feeling i am becoming a better player.... Using the abilities ....match up selection...ie.. As stated earlier maximizing the bot/hanger. When the matches are without cheats ....can be still very fun.
Skill isnt purchased....game smarts etc..... Power is for sale tho...
The game really does rely on alot of rage/frustration to fuel the spending. But if you want 5 ocho hanger..... Whos to say diff? Pix does what pix wants... We are renters...not owners

i just want to put emphasis on the post i made earlier , hangers like these don't belong in master or even expert league and there are a great many of them. i've sat and watched them play time and again and i mean no disrespect to them but they try and fight and they die in mere seconds often getting one shot time and time again , they barely scrape by on damage or kills and often fall towards the bottom of end game stats and time and time again my teams are flooded with them hence why the game outcomes are to extremes (me pulling in the millions and them pulling next to nothing and simply being sitting ducks) throughout expert and master leagues this game is now flooded with them .....they are forced up the ranks as fodder .....they lose over and over yet they STILL have a 50% win rate consistently and always seem to be in the same league.

Seems this "event" is pretty much permanent now. MK 1.12 is the new MK 2.4 for me.
I'm not in lower leagues as such but I refuse to level anything above 1.12 now because the cost outweighs the benefit for most weapons and bots.
Pixonic moronic "balance" cycles mean I am multiple times bitten, twice shy to over invest in things like modules and drones so I take things to a useable level and stop there.
I've lost count how many years playing this game but I have never had as much silver as the current era of this "event". I will just save up gold and wait for 40% upgrade discount day and level things to 1.12 or maybe 2.1 waiting for the day this event finally ends.........

OP. Great that you bring these matters up in your vid.
However, the silver rush is not the causation of people rising fast into Champions League. It is the new points system. IMO the silver rush is there partially to give the krill a chance to level their bots and weapons to mk 2.1 quick. Then I reckon pixonic hopes that the illusion of being competitive takes traction with those players. However, the issue is that drones, modules, newer gear, ultimate gear, pilot skills and alike is what really produces the huge gap in capability.
I personally don’t mind the silver rush because it introduces a flaw into match making and allows me to have cracking games in Champions League when match making is manipulated.
But indeed, you nailed it, when you said something to the effect of the capability of most Champions League players being too low compared to strong players introduces huge asymmetry between players in Champions League which can make the game boring if you play the game strictly according to the intended rules set down by pix. The big unanswered question however remains, do most maxed players want competitive games or want to feel good by dominating. I reckon it’s the later.

IMHO over the last year Masters League imploded. Whether due to drone ripoff, MM , hacking etc. I like my mk3 Hellburner but it is not the reason for me krillevated up into M1. Also the MM would pit me against player an entire league above. As an example if I would climb into E1 would generally get players in Masters League, sometimes even champs. The game has always been geared to seal clubbing and unlike you a lot of players want that.

This game has so many flaws that it’s impossible to hold one or two things up to the light and declare that THIS is blah blah blah and THAT needs to be blah blah blah. I feel that pix abandoned the player base and its concerns long ago, and now just sees us as pathetic junkies that will NEVER leave the party, regardless of how obnoxious and daft they act. Its their world and they can shift any aspect of this game further in their favor and keep handing us poop filled pastries to pacify us in the meantime.
If that sounds cynical, then there ya go. Find your fun while you still can

Mail.RU was a master at pushing it to the edge and reeling it back in.
MyGames pushed too far, and has driven too many experienced players from the game. We’re circling the drain folks.
But a new competitor emerges and it might be a really fun Christmas.

This is more so emblematic of how much Pixonic has eroded player trust in my opinion. Pixonic has been doing silver rushes or upgrade discount events for years, which players always being happy to see them, but now that we have all been conditioned to doubt everything they do, even these innocent-enough events are not above scrutiny.
Really, you could spin every single nice thing Pixonic does as some way of pushing players up the leagues or encouraging engagement: Pixonic gives us free things to entice us to spend more, Pixonic supports YouTubers because they advertise meta equipment, Pixonic made ultimate equipment to bank off nostalgia, etc. It really is just about how cynical you want to be with everything. We will never know what exactly they are thinking, so it is all up to speculation.

I cant even imagine how much more money they wouldve made if the game was balanced and fair. Likely a lot more with a loyal and grateful player base with respect as a foundation. A grifting model does the exact opposite over the long run, as is steadily materializing now.

We will never know what exactly they are thinking, so it is all up to speculation. the thing is that it isn't really speculation when there is ample evidence of certain things such as people with super low hangers being pushed up the ranks (as my post showed) and them being fodder , rigged match making has clearly been shown a great many times , yes they give free things but extremely minimally while everything is designed for the huge cash grab and so many things we ALREADY had changed to accommodate another cash grab over and over , nerfs , changes to equipment , bots , modules , drones and the extremely low percentages on win rates of anything even if you do pay .....as for the youtube thing lol like i posted on one of manni's vids .......manni : here's the list of the most overpowered setups to date , please don't use them they are way to strong , what he meant was here's a list of the most overpowered stuff for you to buy and level mugs!. the core problem is pixonic doesn't do nice ..they simply don't care and they thrive off of the ego of huge payers by selling massively over the top stuff then nerf it ...we all know the cycle....the test server serves as little more than a testing ground to find the most over the top setup of new stuff thus that is what to buy when released , things are rarely ever fixed until long after the fact

I've been playing 1.7 gear in Expert I, II, and III for more years than I care to admit. Maybe I'm one of those skilled players I don't want to play masters/champs because the "bonus boxes" for masters/champs take too long to get.
The key to understanding why people get dragged up is the honor scoring system: if you finish 1-2 in the games you lose then you will keep moving up. So if the more powerful players tank in the games you lose then even a weak player that plays to the end ends up 1st or 2nd.

Wrong. As other posters here have pointed out, Pixonic moves the power of robots and weapons to match where they want them to be in order to drive people to spend on new "powerful" equipment.
While we're here, I'm not convinced the post-game "Report Player" is anything more than a placebo and that it is actually used to train their match-making when picking who should be in which team when deciding whiich team to stack for a win/loss.
