So we had the spear weapons which were stupid OP on release and then nerfed multiple times because "balance" and stuff and now we have these new weapons for which I have no idea which ones they are since they release so much crap these days.
The medium weapons with 600m range do more damage than the heavy Puncher weapons but that's balanced.... For now.
We are back in the era where bots don't fear Titans again and just had an Ocho outbrawling my max level Luchador with sonic weapons whilst using "sniper range" weapons. It was on the battlefield for a while so no doubt got lots of juicy bonuses racked up but still.

I've got no idea what the new weapons are any more. By the time I've come to terms with one set, two more have come out. I'm just going to assume the pointy end is the dangerous one.

I do think I like the grenade launchers - Cestus and the others. I have dual Cestus on my Orochi and their auto-aim function (just like the Sting, tyvm) helps me accommodate for how fast the Roach can change direction.

I like them too but I think there are 3? other newer range of weapons since those last newer weapons were released and those hurricane (Zenit style) weapons seem very hard to get even though they underperform by pixonic standards.

Man, I don't know about the Hurricanes underperforming. Saw a quad set of those on a Typhon or Leech or something and they laid some smack on me. I gave the Splinters a test run when they came out and decided I didn't care for their firing mechanic. The projectile speed seemed slow, so I ditched them.

Well, Hurricanes are decent, but decent is not enough for Pixonic of course. There also is the classic point that four of any weapon is bound to bring some results.

i feel like everyone kinda forgot about the hurricane weapons. Yeah there was a reason for that. The damage is OK, just not good enough in champion league. Maxed shotguns done damage Ochokochis, so what good would they do? I'm actually quite curious to see how they do in lower leagues.

They range from mildly annoying to Ima die soon depending on the size of the seal club.

The one good thing about being on the receiving end of the Hurricanes is that if you can see them coming and if you have a bot with an ability like stealth on jump (hello Raven) or shielding (hello Fafnir), and if your ability is available, you can either dodge effectively or absorb the damage and convert it to firepower.

They also suffer from the same problem as the vortex class of weapons albeit slightly better with the splash. Smaller bots like the Mender avoids most of the damage by just staying mobile.

I built 4 to 2.3 as cheaply as possible and put them on a Fafnir. Complete meh. Poopface knows that he and I have wanted medium artillery for years and I’m not surprised that I’m disappointed, but I just had to try them.

I remember when the Mars first came out and the turret used to look awesome when firing at flying bots from the third person perspective. Looked like the C-Ram weapons firing at night and tracking a target.

I have always loved the graphics in gameplay. I do wish they'd return the jet engine flare in the Raven to the earlier flattened plume that better matched the look of the squared off exhausts, but that's miniscule compared to all of the "oh heck yeah" moments I've seen.

I will give credit to Pixonic for making the game look good for sure. I remember we had a thread showing off the last-minute frames of every battle where the UI disappears but the results banner has not appeared yet, and a lot of the shots looked really good. Whether people like all of the flashing lights is a different story, but it is undeniably high-quality. Too bad it comes at the extreme cost of game performance, as a pretty-looking but hard to play game is much worse than the opposite.
