Yeah no shame in my game killin AFKs. Obviously, like the others said above... higher priority targets are... well, priority. But there is no mercy for AFKs in my book. For one thing... if you are taking a comfort break, you are doing your team a disservice. That should be discouraged at every level. Matches aren't that long and if you need a break, take it before or after for Robot's sake. For another, the name of the game has the word "War" in it... my thoughts are; that I take out the opposition at every opportunity, whether they are in their bot or not... even if they are having technical difficulties and will come back soon... that is one less bot they have to kill us with, it's not like they will know who didn't shoot them and return the favor for the rest of the game. As far as courtesy, I have engaged in the being a shield from time to time, even in my Gareth, running ahead of the non shield bot and drawing fire. Also, if I see a buddy going for a beacon and I see a bot heading toward him/her, I will do all I can to distract that bot even if I can't kill it. Another thing that helps is if someone is getting pounded by Hydras, if the Red isn't using manual lock on, I run around the guy getting hammered making the Red targeting switch between me and the other blue... and since I am usually in my Gala or Gareth, just let the shield eat the result. If the Red is good they will use the lock on feature and that becomes useless, but if not, I can sometimes get half the Hydra salvo to hit me, instead.

AFK-players are my last targets. First beacons, second enemy bots, last AFK-bots...

I admit I shoot at them, but like you, I know I shouldn't, both because they're probably experiencing technical difficulties, secondly because they aren't a high priority threat to you or your team, and thus shouldn't be a high priority target. I blast away, guilt-free. My team and I are intentionally eliminating contacts from the radar. They can't see that the pilot is AFK and not just camping. Eliminating the AFK bot clarifies the field and helps every Blue evaluate the field better. The only time I won't shoot is if I think I need the ammo to defend myself momentarily. If you take a "comfort break" mid-match or your connection drops the game doesn't just stop for everyone else. Sure, it can suck to lose a bot (or even a whole game!) that way, but sometimes you lose a bot/game. It's ok. Just have fun with what you have left and start a new match in a moment.

Not that I'm endorsing this type of 'courtesy' but there are times when you just can't resist. Spawned at Powerplant with 3 arty Nats as teammates (trebs, kwks, fireworks). Instead of leaving game (last one before bedtime) I go in and twice get killed...Nats still there. Third spawn I noticed a taran/fujin teammate desperately trying to push one of the nats down to force him to eject. I died and when I spawned, said fujin is still trying to push the Nat down but to no avail. No way I'd abandon a brother, so I get behind the Nat and push too and all 3 of us go down the embankment. I turn back and see Mr. Tenacity still pushing Nat and decide to continue helping. Beacons all red. Two reds approach and see a fujin and galahad pushing an unwilling Nat towards them. They shoot only the nat. Game over we lose but had a great laugh. Had the time not run out, I wonder if they would have shot us too or refrained out of (ahem) ... courtesy. This is non-partisanship in action. I did this with my taran fuijin once on powerplant, but i'm not Mr. Tenacity so this must be someone else. No luck, the natasha just decided to walk back to it's spot

Ok guys. A advice please. Am I right in assuming that beacon capping can be shared if 2 mechs arrive while the beacon is colour changing? I read someone complain about being followed to beacons and both mechs being destroyed simultaneously. Rather than one going for another beacon. But I know the life of my cossack in certain zones and where I have to be to max out its beacon potential. I'm not wanting to break any more protocols than I probably already do.

Yes you are.
I practice zero courtesies. I die a lot without even doing courtesies. I also dislike sharing total beacon caps.

I try to never shoot my team mates in the back when a game starts. Save the ammo for the enemy. However if someone unloads on me I will take 15 seconds and climb all over them, but only somertimes. Depends on my mood and whether or not meds have kicked in.
I will move at start to let faster bots go in front. Why should I take a hit from a Trebuchet.
Other than that, it's every bot for themselves.

When I rode and bronced, my granpa always said to trade my drawn straws with a younger guy. Many years hence in life and in this game,I try to watch them and give em a hand. But I do think i am a dinosaur, now. Cowboys are dead and honor is a word, not a practice.

If travel time is irrelevant, A and B should work together to increase efficiency on tasks X and Y. in War Robots beacon capping, travel times take longer than the tasks. therefore, logic admits that A should work on X while B works on Y to increase efficiency. therefore, logic then iterates that Cossacks should go to the side home beacon while Stalkers, Gareths and Gepards should go to central beacon. therefore, logic implies that Cossacks should never be seen in a pack with another light robot. you will only see me with a medium or a heavy, never another light.

I always leave enough room for the faster bots t o charge through, then follow them and use them as a shield Sounds funny but I'm sure they wouldn't mind that at all. i certainly wouldn't (as long as you shoot back! ) Use you bigger guys as shields and pop out either side of him while your both 'A train'n' and shoot. It screws up the enemies targeting your buddy shield. Works well behind a Rhino or any shield bot.

Me? I'm an a-hole (see if that gets changed to "bum bum") I've grown weary of blowing people off a beacon just to have a speed bot claim it at the last second. If you earn it I will give it to you but generally my play style has become:
Hey why don't you stand in front of me so I can use you as a meat shield while helping you kill this group.
Hey you're standing beside me and there is a beacon and an enemy approaching. The why don't you go for it and let me know what weapons they are using.
Oh you have a lobber on the edge of the ledge. Maybe you are stuck here I'll help *knocks off edge into the battle*
*When going solo against 2 opponents I've almost killed* Oh thank you for rushing in here at the last second to steal my kills. I'm gonna stand over here and see how that works out for you. *Waits till thief dies then resumes the battle*

I use my initial fast bot to beeline straight to the center beacon. Many a red has charged straight into oblivion trying to retake it prematurely. Big brothers dont like Reds picking on lone little brothers.

*When going solo against 2 opponents I've almost killed* Oh thank you for rushing in here at the last second to steal my kills. I'm gonna stand over here and see how that works out for you. *Waits till thief dies then resumes the battle* When I was new to the game, I posted a thread in here asking about KS etiquette, and the overwhelming consensus was that people preferred a dead enemy to some meaningless credit. Makes sense. Hell, you can even make the case that KS'ing is self-preservation. Since I can't see your life total, I have no way to know if you've got things firmly in hand, or if you're hanging by a thread. If I "leave you to it" I could very well be putting myself at risk if they finish you off and come for me next while my attention is elsewhere. I never hesitate to "kill steal." And I'm delighted when someone picks off an enemy I'm working on, so I can get to work on the next. Again it may be different if a) we could see ally's health, to know the situation, and b) kills counted for anything at all, but that's not the game we have.

Situational and positioning awareness. If I am fighting a red and I know I have blues behind me I try to position my self in a way that will allow my teammates to give supporting fire. I try to give extra room if my teammates are using rockets. It seems simple enough but its surprising how many times I can't help a teammate because they are standing in the middle of a pathway trying to serpentine around all crazy blocking any supporting fire while still managing to catch all incoming fire.
If I am in a tankier bot like a Boa and I see an ally in a squishier DPS bot I will try to go in first and draw fire.
Focusing Mag/Geps. Thunder/Taran Boa seems to do ok vs Mag/Geps. I lose a bit more health than I would like but I feel like it is my duty to kill them before they erase my whole team. I run from Aphid/Geps though. Long hair don't care. I don't know how to deal with them.

This thread is great - feel good moments and comedy all rolled into one...
I try to respect my allies... I have shared beacon caps, and flown into the fray as a living griff shield when weapons are gone.
But I think my greatest contribution to the war robots user base is dealing 99% damage to so many Leos, so that some cowardly Lion, Kang-headed Tasha can make his night by getting the "kill shot" he so desires to "help" his team.
But with three snipers on almost every sorte, it is often hard to feed them all...

When I'm in a gep and a rhino is coming through I get out of the way. It is much easier for the small more agile bot to clear a path than for a rhino to drop its shield and slowly go around. ah seizure!!!!!

I try not to kill AFK players. No point fighting someone who can't fight back. #Chivalry I kill AFK players for the gold, man. If someone gives you a gift, turning it down is rude. Its free damage! Thank you for the gift, man! Couldn't buy the robot to kill you when you are not afk if you didn't give me the gift! Iw ill now kill you so i can get more! Mwhahahahaha.

Old man is a toe to toe fighter. ECC's at 500m is longest weapon range loaded. Magnum's and Taran's 350m next. Orkan's 300m.
Old man has no long range weapon's.
But maybe I'll buy some to pick you off.
Sorry, last comment was snarky and untrue.
