In the 2+ years I’ve been with them, this is the first time it’s been very difficult to put together a 6 person squad. Nobody wants to play because… Ocho.
As more and more Ochos are out there I quit more and more games. That’s the only thing that keeps me playing; not wasting time with a sure loss. If I had to play to the end of every match I’d quit entirely. Pix really is just trying to cater to the whales. Spend or lose.
I saw a Hover tonight, poor bastage.

The ocho is so dumb. I too quit and go to the next game if I see a few. Or if some wise guy sits in our spawn unkillable, I leave. I’m not dealing with that ish.

For me, it’s not just Ocho, it’s Ocho hot on heals of Newton, Crisis/Reaper (cReaper), Rook, etc. Mail.RU was master of taking it to the edge and reeling it back in. Every few months they’d restore some quasi-balance (fix the GodMode sales “bugs”, have a release of almost balanced new content, etc.). My.Games is just relentless and doubling down on grossly OP bots with a heavy emphasis on skill erosion. And they’re not giving us a breather. My disappointment is enhanced by my own misguided expectations. In the Mail.Ru days, the Ocho release would have been the breather round after Newton and cReaper. I was hoping Ocho would be strong for sure, but…

For me, it’s not just Ocho, it’s Ocho hot on heals of Newton, Crisis/Reaper (cReaper), Rook, etc. This is what I`m finding is the hardest to come to terms with as well. And the fact that you don`t stand hardly any chance of getting the new stuff yourself, then getting it all levelled up and then having any fun with it before it`s already been made next to useless and replaced with the next new horror that you have to face on the battle field.

All I’ve been doing is capturing my 10 beacons per day while taking a dump at work and doing the Extermination mode once a week. After those two beacon task are done I’m out for the day.
Then I go play something else.

I think the Ochokochi really is rock bottom for this game. I know it may be foolhardy to say this, but I do think this is where things plateau in terms of terribleness. Like, how do things get worse than killing the entire enemy team with a single, unkillable robot? For me, they do not, as while you could make a robot that kills the enemy team even faster, that is not worse per se, just more of the same thing. I doubt a Ochokochi 2.0 would make us have less fun than we are right now.
Me and Eradicator 1 were having some fun last Friday on the time drops imagining what top level squad play looks like right now. Like, is it just 12 immortal Ochokochi players playing bumper cars at the center beacon for 10 minutes? The thought that people somehow find that fun in this shooter game is both baffling and hilarious. Pixonic may make robots that are even more powerful than Ochokochi in the future, but they fundamentally will never be worse.

Yeah, my LEAVE BATTLE button is getting a workout lately and I’m hardly alone. The data will show them that their latest dorkbot is causing numerous early exits from matches. Pix will blah blah blah and you know the rest

Yeah, my LEAVE BATTLE button is getting a workout lately and I’m hardly alone. The data will show them that their latest dorkbot is causing numerous early exits from matches, and then they will blah blah blah and you know the rest I’ve been doing that, working that leave button like it’s free candy for a fat kid. And I still advance upward. And I play wayyyyy more squads and s-clans than ever before. Mind you I have 120 champs cups. My play times have dwindled to playing time drops, but much much shorter durations since the BS gets to be too much for all involved, and we call it early. I may get in some warm up games thursday nites(not anymore, that is death clan central) or friday afternoons(rough, but ok for a few matches). it’s just not fun at all. What IS funny, we all were up in arms over the death button being released. Seems Pix turned it on themselves with ochoooo. Question now is, when will the whales get bored with the nonsense. im gonna go out on a limb here and make a prediction. This time next yr, this game will be completely unrecognizable.

Just seems every yr we are turning more and more into something different. Just overall different. Everything. Bots move so much different now, even how they walk. Not to mention what atrocities we will be forced to fight. How many new rebalances, death buttons, even currencies. just thinking what the lay of the land is gonna look like. Trying to see a direction in which they are going.

I'm doing things I wouldn't normally do, but 'business as usual' is just out of the question.

The thought that people somehow find that fun in this shooter game is both baffling and hilarious. Pixonic may make robots that are even more powerful than Ochokochi in the future, but they fundamentally will never be worse. Ochokochi goes down fast once it's out of the ability so during full ocho squad battles, we usually have callouts to have a couple focus a specific ocho and when it's ability wears off, it's dead in 2-3 seconds. Having full ocho hangars really only benefit if your entire team is also stacked with them. One person having 5 in their hangar won't be that useful because chances are you are going to last the entire match with just 1-2 of them anyway and I've meched out people with full ocho hangar several times without a single one on my team just by focusing him down - I do have to say my teammates during those matches were playing smarter than what I would normally get as teammates though...no shade to anyone lol. Fighting another ochokochi is pretty fun and completely dominating other players was very fun at first I'm not going to lie, but it got boring just playing the same bot over and over again. So instead I've been mostly playing other bots and seeing how they are after the nerf which wasn't even necessary in the first place after they released the ochokochi. I don't really care whether I lose or not unless I'm squadding with people. One thing that I hate and don't do is quitting matches. You ultimately screw your teammates over and ruin the experience for whoever has to join the match late to fill your spot. That's just how I feel about it - even back during the shocktrain meta, when my entire team left at the beginning seeing a full squad of shocktrain bulgasaris I still stayed and played. While I dislike people leaving matches, I won't fault them for doing so in this current game environment and I acknowledge the frustration that F2P/low spenders are feeling right now. Eventually people will get fed up and them quitting matches will end up becoming them quitting the game entirely. I also really dislike how F2P have no access to the latest stuff aside from giveaways. Stuff that P2W can buy, F2P should be able to get also by playing more which also means more ads are watched which will translate to more revenue. What you can't afford to spend, you should be able to make up with time. Like those event task chains that they used to have where you could earn yourself a meta bot or weapon by completing all the tasks but not as long. It would've been really nice if they had new task chains to do with an ultimate edition bot or weapon as the end reward so more players have access to the weapons they once really enjoyed using while still be able to compete in the current meta instead of it being stuck behind a paywall. I am a returning player, I've been playing for about...a month now. I was gone for 3 years this time and when I got back, I was pretty surprised by the state of the game. I thought the plasma ao ming and hawk meta was bad; this new company taking things to a whole new level and we are about to get a bot with 6 light weapon slots in a meta where the lights are practically just as strong as their medium counterparts .

Yeah, the F2P super-squeeze is inexplicable to me. One of the stupidest thing MyGames has done. War Robots cannot survive on whales alone.

What you can't afford to spend, you should be able to make up with time. Thats their business model, and its done with great intent. Social Engineering at its finest. They absolutely do not want F2P to be able to acquire much of anything worthwhile, in a reasonable amount of time, by grinding. They will give you enough stuff here and there to get you by, give some stuff to make you 'feel' like youre getting ahead, but in the end, its all already long been nerf'd... and you are just serving their purpose, F2P = krill, period. For Pigsonic, ads/grinding doesnt translate into 'sufficient' revenue to waste too much time on. Steering people to drop money is their only goal. They will take any steps, not matter how pathetically LOW, to torture, annoy, irritate, frustrate, F2P players. They have made their calculations, and have determined that is the best way to generate notable revenue quickly. I dont understand why anyone would grind away for days/weeks, getting steam-rolled constantly, just to get thrown a bone. A bone that can never be sufficiently sharpened to have any impact on whatever Death Star someone else just dropped several hundred dollars on.
The "Force" has a strong influence on the weak minded.

Eventually people will get fed up and them quitting matches will end up becoming them quitting the game. Lately I’ve been quitting matches. The Ocho is just toooo much. As others here know my play style is completely selfless. I run beacons in Dom mostly and spend powercells like nobody’s business in search of a 6th place win. There’s very little return on beacons compared to kills and damage and yet, I persist when given half a chance. At 15k wins and around 30k matches I’ve earned my chops to do whatever and whenever I want in search of fun. Pix is deep into my pockets and they have ZERO loyalty to me and the rest of the player base so loyalty amongst the other Stockholm Syndrome sufferers is just silly. We are all here to have fun and if it’s not fun we should all bail. The other night 4 blues quit around 2 minutes into the match. I stayed and that was wrong because it was a full clan of Ochos and I wasted my precious time… trying to do what I’m not exactly sure but I won’t be doing that again.
