I just checked my gold total and my heart sped up a little when I saw I had 5150 gold.
Yes, I’m not a purist. I can appreciate Van Hagar, too, while preferring the OG lineup.

It's a great album. And I found the DLR vs. Van Hagar dynamic in the MTV era to be deliciously tense.

It's a great album. And I found the DLR vs. Van Hagar dynamic in the MTV era to be deliciously tense. My wife and I saw them in concert a few times over the last ~10 years. The first had DLR when they teased he was back with the band for their Greatest Hits album. Then we saw them with Sammy -- don't remember why he was with them. Then we saw then with DLR again.
I'd have to say that the Sammy show was the best. DLR had plainly lost his best and 2nd best stuff in the final concert. The last concert was just embarrassing. His dancing around the stage was awkward and stiff. It's like somebody was in his ear saying, "hey Dave. Do a high kick" then he'd pause and do a bad one. The mic levels were off, too, as if they were trying to drown him out. Also, they'd had their falling-out with Michael Anthony so Wofie was playing bass and it just wasn't the same.
At least I never saw a Cherone concert. Don't think I could stomach that even though I do kind of like Dirty Water Dog.

What eldritch language are you old nerds speaking because it sounds older than the sun They're speaking the language of the Old God, Van Halen, and the relative merits of the High Priest David Lee Roth and his successor, Sammy Hagar.

Sort of like the last Beach Boys show I saw. Mike Love looks like he should be using a walker on stage, but other than him and Bruce Johnston, the rest of the band is fantastic, and they've been having Mark McGrath perform a lot with them because he can sing Mike's parts perfectly and has all the charisma in the world. They put on a killer concert, but Mike & Bruce are just kind of there.
