So I bumped into Paps the other evening on Fιεχροιητ™'s excellent Discord server, and we got to chatting about some of the travails he's been having with tankers and ditchers. Me, on the other hand, the game is as good as it's ever been right now. I'm not seeing so many deadbeats that it impacts play, the matchmaking is lining me up very well, I'm seeing more D2 and D1 players than I did before, and I'm on a run of form (64% win). Talk about a tale of two cities, right? I know this topic's been done to death, so I'm not looking for a vent thread. I'd just like to hear from iOS users as to where they are right now. We've discussed on the Forum before the divide between the dismal Android and the vastly superior iOS platforms, so I'd like to see how that lines up with the issues of the day. Or am I just that one lucky schmuck? Again.

For me, there is guaranteed at least 2 ditchers per match. Ahh, but if it's one per side, then it's back to fair. EDIT: FTAOD, that's a joke

I had a bad run the other day, now today I've been on a really good run. It is definitely hit or miss and when it is bad, man it feel terrible just as it always has. Overall the game is solid for me. Ditchers and tankers are still a problem, but it looks like it is getting better. I am anxiously waiting the leaver protection league to pull the bad apples out of the general mix.
As far as I'm concerned the games are on average the closest and most balanced they've ever been for me. My win rate is give or take 50% all the time now and my league score is slowly creeping up in a yoyoing fashion and I'm just one good run away from knocking on the door of Expert I.
Compared to the old MM where I kepts a 70% winrate on random play and was banking Au, now it is more of a grind but the games are much much closer on average.

Ups and downs, i will have a win streak followed by a much worse losing streak here in diamond3.
Start a match, you will see you are missing 1-2 team mates, another would be a game will start great with full 6 man team in solo. After they lose their first bot, atleast 1-3 guys will quit on blue side.
In solo, a number of guys seem to think beacons are part of the map decoration as they tend to pass by a red beacon without bothering to turn it blue.
I think the God of robots hates me. Sigh,,,

It really depends on the times of day I play. If it's early morning US est between 1am and 5am it can be hit or miss. After that I am a fill in for Masters and Champions, which are rough battles, but fun. Once it hits 10am it settles down and I have some good balanced matches. About 4pm I am back to fill in role and that will last till 1am.
It is easy to spot the ones on their way down though, just from their stats and hangars loaded and from past history. I do seem to see less and less of them though. I don't ever see a Master or Champion doing it. They fight hard all the time in my opinion. As a fill in I still get my hits in and my stats aren't too bad and am usually near the middle and sometimes higher in the final battle stats.
Being a fill in I believe is just a part of there being less players on the iOS platform. I can say that because I see the same players over and over, where on Android I am constantly seeing different players.

It oscillates... I've had long streaks of no ditchers and then I'll run games where we get a bunch of ditchers...
I think right now what used to be power hour has been transformed to ditcher hour. They just seem to be more present in those late evening hours.
If I can get games in during the day or early morning, I rarely get ditchers.

It's good for me. I moved from bottom to top of D2 around the time of requalification, and I have now moved solidly into D1. Not really sure why, as upgrades have been steady.
I definitely see streaks. I don't keep good track of others' hangar or league levels, but it's clear that sometimes the competition is fierce and I finish last on my team while other times I finish first. Rarely is that because I played particularly poorly or well, so it is probably indicating I am playing more experts vs more gold.
Again, I don't track tankers, but they seem pretty rare. I guess I could start. Sometimes my damage is so low, someone might suspect me of tanking, but I play 5 bots to their deaths.

My iOS Gold-I experience has been mixed. Good games, but usually one or two ditchers/tankers every two to three matches. Not awesome, but manageable.

I'm finding it much better now that the league system is in play. I'm not getting mech'd out much any longer, and the teams seem pretty balanced. Most of the time, the only reason we lose is because no one is going for the DAMN BEACONS! Seriously.. There is NO REASON that I should be capping 4 or 5 beacons when I'm running an Aphid Patton, a MolotGriff, a PunisherGriff, and good ol PlodosaurusRex. None. But I am a beacon capping fool, cuz the blues are a bunch of morons when it comes to the beacon game.
Sorry. A bit off topic there. Overall, good. Just need to get my team to cap the beacons. In in Gold 1 or Diamond III, depending on the streak.

I've been bouncing around in D1. The presence of tankers over-determines match results in both directions, and its happening in the majority of games. If the tanker league is active, I'm not seeing it. If I excluded games with Tankers, I've had some good match-ups, but there are still too many D1 vs. Champion+ matches, and too many matches vs. top tier.

No, they wouldn't get that idea from my hangar. More or less 8/8 with RDB griff, DB griff, TarAph griff, Plasmahad, and Thunder Carnage. I like to think the times I am low damage I was facing all 12/12 opponents, but I guess sometimes I just suck. Or I face exactly the wrong type of enemy each time I deploy a bot. -Amid

Most matches in Diamond 3 have some level of dubiousness going on. Tanking, meching out with 1 bot, low damage etc. It's not uncommon for my butch zenit to get top damage ... (note, I only start with it when it's a camper map, and usually dump him soon after)

In Expert and the matches are ok.....just the rubber banding sometimes is crazy. Some matches are Expert and Diamond and some Masters. Other times I'm in with diamond players against a bunch of Champion players. What seems odd to me is that when MM goes crazy, it seems to load the red team. I mean I shower my bots and groom them frequently so I don't think it is something personal about me or my line up....I'm waiting for MM to stack my team and that has happened mayb once or twice in 3-4 months. So the awful matches cause me to literally close the game and play 8-9 rounds of Candy Crush.

For the most part good. Matches are even and close. If there is any tanking (like end of the month), then it goes away when I wait and play later after the kids (not mine) have gone to bed.
For me, I am trying to test new builds so sometimes I am running an oddball lineup. With the new matchmaking and league system, I try not to drop too much. My Molots, Punishers, Zenits, etc. aren't up to snuff with my main gear, so there's nothing I can do. I've had good games, but sometimes I have really stinky games that aren't a fault of mine (meaning I am trying to win with sub optimal gear, to see if I should switch and maybe level them up). Also, despite what I said earlier about matchmaking, today I noticed some odd matches I was put in that recalls shade of the old one. As many know, it tries to keep you at 50% so I am trying to game this fact when testing my Molots and Punishers. If I am going to lose with that gear on, then might as well lose a match that the Gods have predetermined. (No, this isn't tanking. I am trying to minimize my losses since it is not an easy climb back up after testing for an hour). I looked more carefully at the pilots on either side, and after I have a really outstanding game (place 1st, win, etc)., then I get matched up with higher tier opponents (Champions and Masters). I'm pretty sure I lose those 100% of the time. Either that, or I get stuck with a bunch of scrubs on my team (Diamond 3, 4 slot hangers) and the other side has 5 Experts. If the matchmaking gods are gonna play me like that, I am gonna play it back. Also when I put in my lower level weapons, I notice I get sent down a tier until I can prove myself. Then when I swap it out and put in my damage hanger, I get sent up to the big boys (like Masters and Champions).
On my secondary account, I noticed it was actually nice to me after I didn't touch it for a while. Before, the first match back from a break, I would be thrown into my tier and without any proper warm up, I would do terrible. But last night, I played an easy match first. Then it got a bit tougher the second match. Then the third match, it threw me in with the sharks (aka my tier). I say sharks since my bots are 2-3 lower level than other comparable hangers in my tier, plus I have a 4 bot hanger.

That is something I've noticed as well. Whenever I swap out bots or make a weapons change, the MM seems to get squirrelly. I'm not sure if that's just my perception or a real effect.

The game is good for me in D2 on iOS. There are tankers yes, but I'm in mostly competitive matches. I did have a 4-6 match on Springfield and we lost on beacons 5-0 lol. But again, for the most part things are great.

I notice similar issues as boomsplat but don't feel it affecting me as much. Some matches are of course tougher than others but on the whole I am pretty happy with the balance. I'm steadily climbing up the league, two steps forward for every step back, and am winning a little gold on the way. I have taken two long breaks from the game since I started playing when it was fairly new and am able to grind more gold now than anytime before. Since returning the last time (maybe 5-6 months ago) I finally got my fifth slot, a Galahad, three Aphids, two Zeus and an Ancile, while grinding for a Rogatka back in the days took me an excruciatingly looong time SThor

Well, the usual criticisms aside, the last 6-8 weeks have really been challenging on multiple levels but alas, Im still playing the game everyday and contributing to the War Robots community in various ways despite it all since November of 2015.
Theres much to be said about that... If I wasnt having fun I wouldnt gripe or continually shout on here or FB how much it sucks, Id just leave and stop playing.

Playing on iOS (iPad and iPhone). Gold II level. The issues with deadbeats seems to be like "when it rains, it pours". Some days I see only a few. Then days like today, ridiculous. I've played 12 games this morning over coffee. Trying to get to the win 8 battles for 30 Au deal. I've won 2 ! Every single match has had at least 2 tankers on the blue team. There's been a scattering on the reds as well. So it's shaping up like one of those "it pours" days ...... .
