I found something interesting on facebook. A player was banned when he and his clan mates left while the match was going on. I don't know if this is legit since i have never contacted pixonic before but maybe some of the people here who do have some experience contacting the War Robots developers can confirm if this is legit or not. if it is, we can say pix has somewhat solved the tanking problem.

Too many angry letters and player reports for them to ignore. We did it!

Too many angry letters and player reports for them to ignore. We did it! If they are doing it, they need to say so publicly... this is a tree falling in the woods with almost no one to hear it. They need to get the message out if it is real!

Nah, no need to make a public announcement. Ban enough tankers and those emails will grow legs and find their way onto FB and here.
Free social media word of mouth and all that...

Although it's nice to see Pix doing something, they should give out notice. They can make it pretty by saying thinkgs along the lines of 'disrupting game play of others' which would cover tanking, ditching and flaking.
One problem being addressed. Now to fix the MM.

I guess Pix proved recently all too well, that as a dev they are now 100% money-driven. Tanking? If it's bad for their business, they will ban/isolate etc. In case there is no direct translation from tanking to profit loss, no pinky-finger will ever move to do anything about it.

I'm skeptical until they fix their connection issues And the game freezing issue on Android, although I have read Pixonic know the difference between tanking and connection/freezing problems, at least i hope they do!

It's facebook hence fake news. I'll believe it when I see an official announcement or an official policy change.

I can hardly believe that, especially if players did pay real cash. Tankers do not use hacking software, do not abuse the game in any illegal way. They simply use the tools given by developers in a less-than usual fashion. In case pix gives such players a ban I believe they are in violation of the contract made with customer/player and could potentially carry consequences of doing so. Again - tankers are just using the game in a way allowed by the app and induced by questionable decisions of developer.
I've never tanked a game, and I'm not supporting tanking, but this seems like an empty hype spread around in effort to wave a stick at tanker population. Dear Pix, instead of b.s. like that (real or not), please fix the game, the mm more specifically and repair the freeze / lag bugs.

...... but this seems like an empty hype spread around in effort to wave a stick at tanker population. Dear Pix, instead of b.s. like that (real or not), please fix the game, the mm more specifically and repair the freeze / lag bugs. . Agreed. I'm seeing tanking as bad, if not worse, than it's ever been. And my definition of "tanking" is when you see 1 to 2 players who blatantly never move for the entire game. And that goes for reds or blues. I now constantly keep an eye on the red spawn point for one who doesn't move. Great way to blast 1 more robot into tanker heaven...... .

Yep, no point in making a Tanker Queue if they are just going to ban tankers outright.

I agree with what you have said ...if you download an app it's up to you how you use it...it may not be in the spirit of how the game was designed to work but nothing illegal is happening I can't see how they could ban someone unless they were hacking...

What happened to that much-anticipated anti-tanker league?
Oh, really? Nothing. Hmm.

I imagine it's easier and more cost effective to ban the offending parties than to create a special playground just for them.
If it was my call, that's what I'd do.

If the vendor forbids the behavior, they can still ban you for it. I agree Pix would need to announce that. Whereas putting those players in the tanker queue wouldn't need an announcement. Is it a punishment to put you with others of your ilk? Not if the behavior is perfectly acceptable to the player. -Amid

The developers reserve the right to refuse a client for any reason. Unless they're banning all black people or something; then it's a different story.

They first have to post a rule code where it says that leaving a game on purpose is a bannable offense that can end up in banning. There is no conduct rules whatsoever and we are free to use the game as we want so long we are not using outside software that hacks the game in any form.
That said there are no rules against exploiting glitches either.
This means that this is a free for all application where you can exploit glitches or abuse the match making system to your favor and it is not against any code of conduct established by pixonic.
Sure for some reason there's a lot of people 「female dog」ing about people who leave the game.
Let me establish the point that this is a war game. You destroy others and celebrate your victories.
Crap you can even make hundred dollars if you sell your account.

They can ban whomever they wish just as they could opt to shut down the server tomorrow and we would be powerless to do anything. Yes it may generate bad publicity but there really is nothing we could do.

If pixonic did not want tankers, they should not have instituted the current matchmaking and league system. Smart tankers can't be stopped......it's impossible.

Looks like off-line mech games on the PC may still be an option giving overall more fun. No risk of ditching the money, no problem dealing with idiot players or ppl who abuse game, no bans, no ridiculous changes & tests made by dev, etc... Anyhow - bots (here: npc controlled units in game) are nowadays "smarter" than most players lol
