So........everyone knows that there's something really off about the MM. We can (and do) get angry about it in the appropriate location but sometimes all you can do is laugh, shake your head, and go down swinging.
This thread is for those who have that "oh maaaaaan" moment early on during the battle and don't quit the match.
I had one such moment in my last match.
Dreadnaught. Looking at some of the curious setups during the countdown, my Spidey Sense was tingling that something was amiss. Nonetheless, I soldiered on to A beacon then took my trusty Phantom* on to B and took out a better-geared Red with the help of a dual-Flux/dual-ECU Hawk that never used his BFG even a single time.
Okay. Plenty of matches have a lone numbnuts. Shake it off, Taylor. Move on.
I received my confirmation a few minutes later after defending our home beacon from a lone Blitz when I wondered why we were in constant beacon trouble and there seemed a curious lack of Blue assistance.
Yes. Five blues all focused on D where they had all felt the need to gang up on a lone Red. It was then that I had the actual thought of, "?dookie?. We're going to lose this one."
I was right.

I don't have screenshots but a couple weeks ago, while on the phone with HAL9OOO, I dropped into a dom match on Moon (Masters 1, iOS).
I started looking around at the initial bot drops and realized that everything my teammates were dropping were 6 Pack legal. All 5 of them.
I told HAL (something like) "Oh man, uh, DB Rhino, Stock Leo, Griffin, Stalker and Plasma Gareth."
He was just "You are so boned."
And we were. We were.

When 20 seconds into a match you can tell there's a coordinated dash-push into blue territory by Phantoms and Blitzes all running meta weapons setups (usually tasers and Shredders). You just know that even if you knock them back, they're coming in with metas in the second wave, and then at 7:30, the first Ming takes off.

Well I had this game, I think 4 of my team mates were teenagers that were not ready to leave home. Then we have this one where 2.4 mill damage only manages to get second last place in a losing side. Couldn't get a beacon without getting jumped on by 3 reds... sigh!

For some reason players will like to cluster in the corner of Dreadnought or all get up on the roof like cats and ignore the rest of the map. This allows reds to push center and into your spawn on DOM and have well defended positions to spawn camp you. At this point you will just get into 3 on 1s and die as you spawn. Better to see it coming before it gets to that point and then go join your idiot teammates and express your frustration.

That stinks, and im sure it has happened to all of us. The situation that i usally see unfold is the painc bar is dead even and we have 3 beacons at the end of the game. Next thing you see is all your teammates trying to grab the 4th beacon instead of defending the ones we have, leaving the middle unprotected. Here comes red Loki to turn your center beacon while you watch your teammates crash and burn from across the field while you keep your beacon protected. It happens so fast on a map like Valley that there is nothing you can do.

Two things that tell me we are going to lose first thing......
At start I am the only blue at center fighting 3 reds for 2 minutes or more and we still only have 1 or 2 beacons.....
I see 1 or more camper builds at start I see this often when playing BR mode!!!!! Idiots!!!!!
Otherwise later in game when we are up beacons I suddenly realize half my team is gone and not playing!

Hopefully, the new MM will save me from ever having to see a Swiss Army Knife Silver bot. You know the ones; they have 1 of each weapon range installed so they are ready for anything.
Note to NOOBs, Mags and Gekko do not belong on the same bot.

Like it or not that contested beacon is many times the difference in winning or losing a game. Often even if alone for a bit a blue comes and we win it. My win rates dropped to under 60% when I started doing what you are talking about. Now after adding a second speed bot back in and go hell bent to center I stay in the 70s 80s. If you are going to lose from crap teammates you might as well practice the right play anyway and get that damage in IMO. Happy hunting and good luck!

Phantom which is maxed then I normally drop my blitz depending on the sitution.

I still get bad teams in tdm but at least I dont have to stress about pushing for beacons and then getting all angry when Im fighting 2 or 3 enemies at a time with zero support. I prefer games with zero beacon awareness over games with blue Spiral Hydra builds sitting back and doing nothing for 10 minutes.
At least bad beacon games are over quickly.

TDM stresses me out. After playing BR most of the time i just want to rush in. I do not have the patience to sit back and have the fight come to me.

Theres way less hydra type spam these days, I rarely get even one in a match because they get taken out so easily. Robots like ravana/nightingale etc make it very easy cross into enemy territory and teach them a lesson.

On Canyon there are 2 situations where I know I am absolutely boned. 1) Early in the game I walk my Tyr onto the beacon that is (a) closest to our spawn point and (b) adjacent to the bridge with the critical center beacon.I’m thinking that my teammates can see the green circle and can work out we can make a good defensive position under the bridge. When the beacon I am on turns blue I turn around to assess the situation and I have 5 reds within 400 meters and zero blues. The rest of my team has fallen back to take up sniping positions. 2) Late in the game. I’ve just sent my Arthur in to brawl for the center beacon. Eventually losing big Arty after doing a shedload of damage to the red team and turning the beacon blue. When I respawn I look up and see 3 Mings floating over the spawn area taking long range shots at the reds and a 4th standing on our back beacon looking at a Loki.

I've seen a few of those over the last week. I very nearly took screenshots. I have a huge photo album of Frankenbot screenshots. I love them! Sometimes I'll put them together myself and run a frankenhangar for a bit. Funnily enough my win rate doesn't seem to suffer...
