So, I've accumulated 1500 gold. As with many people, gold is in short supply and, obviously, pilot costs went up. Although I've "broken the seal" and am willing to shell out a small amount of money on the game (wisdom be damned), I'm not willing to pay what Pix has been offering of late ($20, $30 "deals").
So here's the quandary I'm trying to work around:
I have a few guns that could use going to MK2. Namely a Pun-T on my Tyr that is currently 1/12.
On the same Tyr, I'd like to take Sigrun Valka past 40 and get her either the Armor Expert, True Ace, or Physical Shield Expert skill.
So the question is: Do I MK2 at least one weapon (take advantage of the comparatively cheap silver upgrade costs and use the weaponry to greater success) or hold out, stay the course (thousand points of light) and get the pilot her needed skill to make the mech less squishy?

My thought would be to wait for drones. Unfortunately, we might be forced into purchasing them.

Save it. Or spend it on MK2. Im not your doctor.
I wouldn't wast it on the pilot yet. Wait until you can fully pick what you want.

im saving mine for the drones. I probably will purchase one tire 4 drone at most to start, depending on the cost.

Save it. Neither of your proposed spending routes sound urgent. Both can wait. I would keep saving it for a while after drones hit the live server.

I expect a complete rework of Au economy (pilots, modules, etc) after the initial spending phase on the drones.

I am hoping they all will get discounts after all Au reserves melted away to promote another round of spendings.

Save it .I have good bit now but it goes very quick when you get into mk2 each upgrade in ag may be like 16 -20 some mill but the au to speed it up is 400 too 500 and some au each pop .A round about to speed up 8 lvls say 4-12 mk2 will cost you around 4000 au to speed up ...Thats without adds of course.But I use to do the little deals and just keep saving.It adds up quick but it goes quick too.Like in old days grandparents give you a 5 spot and chuckle ? and say don’t spend it all in one spot...

The weapons I have in the queue are all 1/12. I'd only be putting in the 500 gold to take 1 weapon at a time to 2/1 to start upgrading beyond that. Once I got it to 2/1, I'd just be shelling out the silver for the upgrades toward 2/12.

Poopface I would promote Sigrun. She's worth it. I promoted her to Major because Tyr is a TANK. I can always count on doing a ?dookie? tonne of damage with my Tyr. I often wade into battles against 2 or 3 Reds, a lot of times unintentionally, but can wear down Falcon and Ravanna alike. Of course my Tyr is MK2 lvl 12, but my Pulsar/Shredders are MK1 lvl 9. I would try to save more Au first though. I like to have a bit in the bank before a big purchase, especially if you're contemplating MK2 on bots or weapons. You don't want to blow your wad in case you need it later on. Besides, you might want to have some around to purchase that desired skill if you don't get it for free.Or: ?fluffernutter? pilots, MK2 your bots and weapons. Pilots have become a bottomless pit for Au since the rework. If you pull a T1 Skill, you still have to Boost it to T4. I am no longer dealing with pilots. I have almost 6k Au right now, but I'm going to focus on MK2. It's only 500Au for each bot and weapon as opposed to 30k Au for one Pilot maxed(maybe more).

So....you're recommending that I either promote my pilot and buy the desired skill or ignore the pilot and go after the weapons. Got it.

I was initially backing the Pilots, but as I was typing I remembered what crap the reworked Pilot system has become. Rather than deleting, I thought you could benefit by the thought processes I had gone through to arrive at my recommendation of MK2ing your weapons. More Power!  |

What im doing is waiting for drones, even though i have a few skills i can upgrade, i think i may have enough for 1 silver drone with 1 t4 for each of my bots

From your options I would use it on your Tyr pilot skills if you plan on keeping it in hangar for a while. I love true ace myself.
Otherwise I would just save the gold for now if you.

I just spent 2k Au to get next Tier for ARH for my Loki. The rest of my Au is being saved for MK2. Now if they ever do the 1Au deal I will have four 1.12 weapons ready to go. Then its Ag and ads to get them back up to par. Until then, if if it never happens, next overdrive I will do one at a time to get to 2.12.

In my limited exp ive found that armor expert, true ace and physical shield expert are mandatory pilot skills you want on Tyr. Costlty at this point yes |

spend it!!
Drones may cause you to Quit, you never know so you might as well enjoy it.
i just Blew threw 6500AU alone last nite getting the Pilot Skills i been wanting to try, along with a brand New Sting with no Regrets.
though i have only 5 lvl12 weapons i have no desire to Make them green and i'am ok with this decision.

I cant decide what to do with mine either! Spend s bit here and there but am sitting on 12K with no real idea. Pilot skills are just awful.
1000 gold for .1% improvement in mechanic? For real?
So I continue not to spend...

What's your goal in game? Climb as high as possible? Have a variety of weapons at max gear? Have high level pilots for bots you enjoy playing? How relevant is pursuing the meta to you? If meta pursuit and climbing the leagues are top priorities then hord resources. If playing bots you like with weapons you like and meta be dammed then spend it however you see fit. What do you like more, the bot or the weapon? Put it towards that.

What do you like more, the bot or the weapon? Put it towards that. This. I generally finish Top 3 win or lose with non-meta gear. The closest I have in play is a Scorpion. I just won my first Cryo weapon. No Ares, no Leech, no Ravana  My goal is to get a few mech setups that are “go to” and dependable. Going to likely need to replace my Ao Jun and adjust my guns on the Hades. Yeesh. Lot to do. |
