a support robot, like when I send out Behemoth, with 4 zenit racks, Lvl 11's. Cant run worth a crap, dont have any other weapons. And of course, the reds focus on me, because we all know how firetrucking ( language filter ) irritating Behemoth with all zenits can be. Yes, I frequently take a lower score, so I can provide heavy rocket fire. Can't get beacons, and so on till Behemoth gets killed and I can send in Ares or Leech. Do these guys give a firetrucking ( language filter ) Goddang (language filter ) ship ( language filter ) about giving me any cover when I have two or three coming in heavy? Nope. Alot of the time, even if they would just turn around and fire half a clip in my direction, it would easily take care of things. Too pre occupied, regardless of the heavy rocket barrage I've been giving them. Greedy, clueless, blue team mates. No, not in a clan, invited to several, no one ever seemed to be online playing, so I keep leaving them. Need a Blue clan that maybe has its mudder-fudding- ship ( language filter, language filter, language filter ) together. Maybe that even works together, like the REDS do, which of course is why they typically win. Just impossible to get any cooperation, or coordination... SORRY< maybe should be in RANTS, apologies. Simple...Artillery builds are the most despised teammates in the game, ESPECIALLY as first drop. Granted, Zenit Behemoth with the long-range Legendary Pilot is the only Zenit build that might come close to usefulness, but I guarantee you, if Friendly Fire were a thing in this game, your own teammates would get you into that Ares or Leech in record time. I'll admit, in the case of Behemoth, or even Fury, that's a bit unfair...those builds an be a huge assist in the mid-game, particularly vs Titans. Just don't drop it as your first Bot. You're teammates aren't oblivious...they let the Reds kill you on purpose.

yup, look around after you drop that behemoth at the beginning of the match, you should see your fellow blues looking at you, might even shake their head at you or shoot you.

This game does not simulate real warfare. Artillery is basically useless at all stages of the game, especially the higher you rise. Behemoths, of any build or load out, are a big bag of silver for me. I will kill them as soon as I can. I do not want anyone else to get such an easy kill. If the Behemoth, of any build or load out, is a blue, I will not protect it at all. It is a waste of a bot during any stage of the game.
This is a beacon control game. Nothing more and nothing less. There is a thread on the forum right this very minute that explains passive play and how passive play is detrimental to winning the game.
Bottom line however, this is YOUR game. You play it as you see fit. Just know that you will not be loved by your team. If you really want to play a Behemoth, put 4 Avengers, 4 Redeamers, 4 Glaciers or even 4 Vipers on it, march it straight for the nearest contested beacon, and use it to kill as many reds as you can before you die. That helps the team win infinately more than any artillery build will.

as a side note to this, I reject anyone who applies to my clan if they run even a single zenit, noricum, hydra, or flux in their hangars.

I guess it also depends what league you are in but when I drop into a fresh game and the first thing I hear is that dreadful sound of flying marshmallows hurtling through the air from one of my team mates, I will most likely just bail.
I know we will be over run buy Ravana/Leech/Phantom/Ao Jun within seconds.

If you’re playing BR, drop a fast bot first and go for a beacon. Drop that Zenith setup later game to suppress attack reds if as needed.

I actually avoid shooting reds running Zenits. The longer they are in that bot the less they are helping their own team. I have however shot some of my blue teammates for camping :-)

My number one priority in ANY situation is to deal to Behemoths, including any on my team. My favourite move is to park my Ming in front of it and back it into a wall, over the edge into a river, whatever, just annoy and get rid of the stupid thing. Why? Because artillery is camping, and camping is for losers! And like another poster has said, put an artillery or rocket build in your hanger and I’ll boot you from the clan.

I'm often in duo games where lose while me and my teammate get twice the beacons of our 4 blueberries won't even defend the beacons we get, let alone get new beacons. Beacons win games. Players like you frustrate the hell out of your teammates.

Artillery does a little damage in low leagues where you're fighting Natashas that don't know how to play. As you progress through leagues it becomes completely obsolete.

I agree absolutely, and it makes strategic sense to let them live and waste their own time, but sometimes it’s just fun to kick a blue Behemoth off the top of Yam down into the snow below

Nothing to grab and push a bot like spider legs. But even on Carrier it's a long way to the water, as you can't push someone into water from the home platform. Best bet may be Factory now, as you can push it into acid

Play what you want, it’s your game. But ....
The best you can hope for is to trigger some BB’s, maybe even cause a player panicked PS or ability usage here and there, but your not helping your team a ton with this build.
Like others have said try a fast/support bot as a first drop in BR/DOM, or stick to TDM.

If I see a long range build on my team getting harassed I will put aside my personal feelings and defend them but I'm not camping with you to babysit you for the entire match. There are beacons to cap!
Back in day I used to run a Treb Butch. I would spend EXACTLY two minutes trying to thin out the herd of reds but then I would ditch it for my close range bots. I hope OP does this. He has some useful bots that could really help the team. At least he doesnt have an entire hangar of Behemoth and Fury

a support robot, like when I send out Behemoth, ... Goofy- as- all- ?cotton headed ninny muggins?-ly-pears ( language filter ) This cracked me up. Thanks. I feel your pain. Sincerely. My most beloved bot is my Chimera/Noricum Natasha. A support bot par excellence. It used to be wonderful at times for TDM. Poop for any beacon game. Today, I've even stated in another thread how much I love artillery, but to avoid Zenits all you have to do is walk toward them or away from them. When I found this out I no longer feared them, at all. In beacon games that I'm in lately, guided missiles and artillery are a liability for the reds and I don't like this one bit. Artillery should be part of the battlefield toolbox not a liability for the home team.

When I see guys first drop anything with Zenits, Trebs or Noricums I automatically assume a loss is on the way because basically it is 6 on 5 at that point. I get it if the bot is in the hangar for mid range etc just don't drop it first.

I loved the one hit Treb kills at 1000 meters bwaaaaa.

When blue drops with those I run to the other side of the map and let the reds have dinner. The sooner that bot is gone the better.

My son's got a Butch with Mk2 Zenits and Mk2 Thunders. I think he usually drops it second and works on dropping fire on low-health reds in cover until someone gets close enough to shoot back, and then switches to those close-spaced Thunders and starts punching. He's been running it forever even though he's got some meta bots too. He swears it works and he's been in Champs almost as long as I have, so I just encourage him to keep leveling it up.
