I'm wondering if I should have spent all this time and silver on this or should I have gotten a different bot? I run my Phantom all the time, and I love it, now I'm wondering why I just didn't get a second one. What are your options?

Falcon is a good bot, based on the degree to which I dislike fighting them.

If you like the phantom i assume you like speed and agility which is my forte too. try one of these, also the strider is solid

Variety is the spice of life. Falcon is fun, but if you're planning on doing the T-Fal thing, you have to invest in getting its level as high as possible, only to run a glorified Schutz. T-Fals are the tankiest bots short of Titans, but with only 1 gun, you have to make sure you max that gun up too.
I run 2 Falcons in two different hangars. The Dragoon Falcon has been a mainstay forever and is a powerhouse at 600m. But, Titans have pretty much made it a paint scratcher. It's still great at catching and killing bots that are making a run out in the open though. My second Falcon is currently running Avenger/Exodus (used to be Exodus/Glacier but I'm trying out the Glaciers on my Ao Jun). This is a great beacon capper that either takes one or two other beacon cappers or die in a blaze of glory.
Some good Falcon builds:
Tempest - great counter to Titans, especially Ao Ming. If you go this route, make sure to get the two Tempest skills for grouping and speed.
Trident - decent MR splash build but takes practice to hit at 600m. The Trident nerf really hurt this one bad cause I used to love shooting at corners, but you almost have to hit a target square on now. Still packs a helluva punch though.
Dragoon - probably the best MR build for Falcon. Vaporizes non-tanky bots and can usually chip away decent chunks out of tanks. Don't get cornered though.
Exodus and/or Glacier - great DPS build and one of the few that can still one salvo kill most things. Very expensive to get and upgrade though and really needs decent HP levels on the Falcon.
Avenger or Viper - similar playstyles and both are great against tanks - just make sure you don't take on tanks alone cause in Fangs Out mode, most tanks will out DPS you. Avengers obviously great for shielded bots while Vipers are great against DR bots and Anciles.
Chimeras - great successor to the Hydra Spectre, and is great for picking off targets in cover and can deal a huge amount of whomp to bots in the open, but ultimately, it's a boring bot to play and not very effective in Champs.
I don't have any Nucleons so I can't really comment, but I feel guns with infinite ammo are wasted on a bot that can only use those guns every 10s for about 10s.
At the end of the day, don't feel remorse. I like the Falcon, and the Legendary Pilot is decent, but if you're goal is to go MR/LR, then get Basil instead.

Falcon's a great bot. I have two of them! It's a great 2nd drop following a Phantom start. Traditionalist is most effective but regular Falc is admitedly more fun.

Since resources are hard won, I find it is ideal to play around with stuff in test server to see if I like it before investing in it. No sense acquiring and upgrading things I won’t enjoy a lot, especially if I can make multiples of my favorites

Thanks guys, I feel better now. She should be done in a couple days. I'll park her in hanger 2 until I get my Ao Jun up to lvl9....maybe.....maybe I will get the Falcon up to 5 or so first.

Well the T Falcon is probably the cheapest top 10 meta build.
I have one and have kept it in the hanger over a lot of fancier bots. I ran it first as a mid range with Dragoon’s. it was good, but the meta doesn’t really favour dedicated mid rangers at the moment. So went to a brawling Falcon. Didn’t like that to be honest, and found that the opportunity to go fangs out were limited. So went Tfalcon. It’s a proper tank, it can just walk onto a beacon with three bots on it and just outlast them.
I wouldn’t go calling it a fun build, but it is very very useful.

My TFalc/Ember and Phantom/Taser are two of my oldest most-loved bots. If you go TFalc do your best to put a pair of leveled heavy armor kits on it. And bring lots of power cell for advanced healing, but, as a first or 2nd drop (before Titans) you are very tough to kill. PitA tough.

Falcon is a super fun and versatile bot because of it's unique ability, I love mine. It can be insanely powerful tank if you like that kind of playstyle. But I prefer keeping my 2 heavy weapons for a surprise mother「fluffernutter」er playstyle Glaciers work just fine

I’m not a fan of running more than one of a particular bot.

Sometimes I think my Phantom may be too fast. Last week I was playing BR on Shenzhen, and at the beginning of the game I take off right, round the corner, drop my puck and accelerate. When I hit the steps behind the Civic Center I'm going so fast I launch myself past the beacon, past the other set of steps right into the range of a red....it was pretty funny looking back at it. But yes I like the idea of adding more speed to my hanger.

Falcon was one of my first bots that I built in Workshop. Still a mainstay in my hanger. It is now MK2.2 with Avengers MK2.3. You need a tank to balance out your hanger.

I have 2 Phantoms in my regular lineup. I also have a T-Falc that hasn't been run for close to a year now, he made way for the second Phantom once it was built.
Falc is annoying in play but about as much fun as watching grass grow. Just mindless walking forward with no real strategy in mind and press the heal button every 40 seconds.

I almost bought an AM, but on reading the forums I realised you need to invest 3,000+ PT into it to get it into a semi-competitive state. It isn’t PT wasted, but you need to save for a long time to make it useful.

I don't run a Falcon but it is definitely in the good investment category of cheaper bots that seem to punch well above their silver costs. For me, Strider fills that role, but in general having a few of those kind of bots is a good economic strategy.

I run mine as a T-Falc with a fully maxed Avenger. Great for waddling up to the Red beacons and swatting opponents.
Due to being used up close and personal the Avenger is great.
One thing to remember with bots that use damage reduction. Titans have Defence Mitigation on the weapons which can completely nullify your tanky DR.
So use your Falcon early. I normally run it 2nd bot out.

Every bad thing they say about TFalc is true. Every word of it. But! When my clan absolutely positively needs me to take and/or hold center, they give me the ball. "Now that it's blue, hold center Ollie." It is NOT glamorous but I love a squad win, and it's a team game. Not everyone can be Quarterback somebody has to be the Center.

There is so much variety to be had with a Falcon, I absolutely love mine.
He has been a T-Falc with Avenger, Calamity and Redeemer, but I got a bit bored having everybody shoot at me (totally understand the squadding imperatives though). He is now a triple Avenger Falcon, which was an absolute nightmare at 400m until the nerf. Next month he is going to be a Nucleon Glacier Falcon for Arthur hunting.
They are really superb fun, more so if you can snag the Road Hog ability.

If you like fast bot, Phantom, Bliz, Loki are all good choice atm. Don't really need to build the same bot twice

Or maybe put a Tempest on center, with the Nuc and Glacier on Fangs Out as a GET AWAY FROM ME defense.

I use my Falcon with 3x Glaciers. I jump into range and Surprise! Maddafakka! As someone said. Lol. Or I can sneak into range and jump away when the Mf comes for me, if he survives.

It's an awesome bot but takes like 3 months of practice.
I built one and added Cormac...with an ember and two Glaciers I can kill 3 bots if I play smart.
Trick is using the jump and three heavies at the right time/cover and going back in DR mode right after.
Defense is key so build up a lot of tankiness on pilot skills.

To stretch it a bit, Fenrir is my defensive end (I call him Alvin Mack ), Nightingale is that little halfback that gets behind something beefy and causes havoc if he gets loose, Loki is a War Robots wide receiver Tyr is a cross between the trainer and Jeff Gillooley, and Bulwark is Bill Bellicheck with a sniper rifle. I told you I was going to stretch it.

Played my first game with her, and even at lvl 1 I had a blast. Capped center on Yam with my Phantom and after that Falcon was my number 2. I walked her up the ramp and hung out with a Kid for a while, jumped down and messed around damaging reds. I had to sacrifice her to stop red from liberating one of our beacons.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your new toy. Variety is the spice of life and that bot had an unusual mechanic.
If you have 3 Tempests try that you won't regret it.

I took mine out with a Glacier and Exodus on the wings. I don't know if it will be a keeper long term, but jumping into a group of reds is a tremendous fun!
