Well, two month ago i was on Galahad's wave as best universal bot ever (before Hydra and Aphids update)
I enjoyed constantly shooting plasma and actually having 200k shield was awesome protection even against (rare) Rhinos and Lancelots. But...what we see right now?
We see many fast enought Aphid bots, Fury adn Carnage (Tridents), Hydras/Sprilas campers, moreover - RDB and DB bots. And i actually saw that Galahad with 120k (even fast without shield) became obsolete im my hangar - just from practice i stopped to use it very often. Again, because 120k is just TWO shots from 3xTridents or RDB. Also in Schenzen/Powerplant you will receive Aphids on your head on top.
Do you use Galahad often still? Which map? I see that Galahad alone is non-go for me. So, see this bot only maybe as clan fight with support. It's awesome bot for quick rush still.

In my tier, (6/8 heavies)it is still very much an MVP, but yes Hydras and Aphids are bad for it... hugging the wall and continuously moving helps, along with using the shield as an ECU while running... I have gotten pretty good at turning my shield while running to eat the Hydras. It is hard though, because those things will curve in to come at you from the sides and you have to anticipate it before they strike so you can turn the shield at them.
Aphids... just have to keep moving fast and, again, hugging the walls. But there seem to always be a few that get through if the Aphid salvo hits close to you. If it isn't a pop up attack (if they shoot the aphids at me without an obstacle being there to cause them to arc up) the shield will eat most of them, too.
I don't see as many Tridents in solo play as I do in clan play, but if I do I always get in my trident carnage (or whatever my ranged bot is) and try and take them out b/c yes the Galahads are deffo weak against them.
But they are absolutely sniper killers... being able to absorb, with the shield, a lot of sniper fire while charging them, damaging them and distracting them from shooting your team, is nice.
It seems like they are still part of a balanced hanger, to me. Having 1, at least, gives you a great plasma-proof, beacon manager for those battles that are heavily populated with plasma or even thunder bots (although to a lesser extent). But even against splash, if I can not get cornered so that I don't have more than 1 attacker at a time, I can usually come out on top. Especially with Aphids on the Galahad's light hardpoints, allowing a nice way to counter DB bots... and other aphid bots, as well, from behind cover. At first, they were new so the balance hadn't been found, so they did seem to dominate. Now, counters and tactics exist to contain them to a degree, but they still do fine in low gold and high silver for sure. I can't speak to the Top tiers, other than what folks there have told me.

I am just moving into gold Low or Trash? Maybe I'm in Sterling Silver - 6/7 hvys w my Galahad at lvl 3/7 plasma. For me it is an all arounder!
With Speed/Shield/Plasma - it is so useful!!
I just dont know where I stop lvling the Gala as I move my weapons to lvl 8, keeping the heavys @ lvl 6? Also in the mix is my Rhino @ lvl 4?
I dont know about high gold, if that is your tier? With high lvl tridents I imagine the damage is immense! Dont see that many! Good thing! But the Galahad is a med bot & maybe reliable use runs out before high gold? For me until then, I might by another one!

Socal, with this hanger: I've had no problems with facing opponents that were too high, it's been quite the opposite, really... So treat your galahad like a heavy as far as mm and leveling up is concerned and u should be fine, in my experience.

tricky48, we are on the same page.
I was replying to OP. I dont know his tier, his sounded like he is in high gold.
Thanks tricky48 on the lvling advice!
My bigger (pun) concern is the Rhino - with other hvys at lvl 6, what is equivalent for Rhino? 4-5, or is it not enough to make difference w MM variance? & just lvl to 6 as well?

This is still the best bot in War Robots. It is fast, has durability, and can bring enough firepower to take down heavy bots. Piloted correctly, it can dominate the field. Aphids should be used by galahads too. Kills stalkers and non-shielded heavy bots easily. This is all in gold. I have not played the galahad outside of gold. If you are getting hit too much by Aphids, you need to move the bot. Level it up to 6+ and truly learn how to pilot it and dance for your supper. It will reward you with top damage.
