"Old Guys" clan, ID 28115 / Android
We're a casual clan, I think Master is the highest league anyone is in. I don't care about what is in their hanger or weapons, level, trophies, how good or bad they are, only asking for active players. We squad battle a lot, there is a "regular" group of us.
My intention when I started this clan is to recruit older players like me ... older players who have family, kids, career, mortgage, car payments. But the nature of this game I think about half of our clan are youth which is 100% fine with me.
The clan fills up every month. What I do is when there is about a week left in the operation, I clean out newer players only that are still in operation level 1 meaning they've been inactive for about a month. After a team battle, I usually look at people's profile and try to recruit that way. Again not looking at anything except operation level for active players. The clan usually fills out by the middle of the operation and empties a bit about now with a week left.
How do you run your clan as the leader?
Is it a competitive clan or a casual one?
Do you do social media? Discord? Facebook? Website?
Do you have practices? Are they mandatory?
How do you organize squad play?
Do you have rules?
How do you recruit?
Do you look at their hanger / weapons?
Do you have performance standards? Try outs?
Edit: got a question - do you understand how the clan rank works? That is the three trophy icon you win or lose some per battle and its listed in your clan player roster? How is it calculated? What is it for? Does it affect your personal trophies (the single trophy icon)?

I technically have a clan. It's got 18 members I think.
One of which is actually active. Which would be me.
I now seem to be getting these clan tasks for free stuff, not sure how more active members would help that.
It's difficult in my timezone to have players on at the same time, that aren't already in a clan, or noob.
My clan rank seems to be climbing slowly though... not sure how the calcs work

I don't lead, but I contribute to NEXT.
You have a lot of questions so I'll just pick and choose:
We are a casual "S" clan. You can run what you want but you need to keep up. Our average for bots and weapons is 2.1, but, we have a few guys that manage to kick butt at around 1.10. Titan spending not mandatory.
Discord use for voice chat is mandatory. We use FB, (but I don't.)
We have the odd practice but rarely.
Our average age may be about 35.
Recruiting. We look for clanless players and maybe send them an invite. There are those in the clan that are MUCH more in-tune with what's going on the the War Robots world than I. They know what clans are having in-fighting etc. *ugh* I'd just rather play.
We have organized squad play. Have to.
Try outs? Often your stats speak for themselves. If you struggle with being a team player (FTW!) and you don't listen we will boot someone. This rarely happens.
Somebody needs to get around 5000 cups per month. That's the "rule" but it is a little squishy.
Rule #1: Have fun! Rule #2: No DRAMA. Rule #3: No DRAMA. :-)

My clan is a bunch of old guys for the most part too. Like others, you must use Discord as well squad a lot. I require a minimum of 2000 cups a month but most pull between 10k and 30k cups. Because of the current layout of clans I make all my main people officers to keep someone from going rogue and kicking others. My main goal for Anarchy has always been to keep people active and on coms. Finding like minded players is really important and keep those who create drama out. My only real rules anymore are you must stay in Champ league and I do not allow people to try and poach players from other clans. It just creates bad juju with other clans. Anyway, Hope this helps.

I just became our “leader” last month. I don’t have any rules as I don’t feel it is “ mine”, which I like. We are pretty chill. We look down upon tanking. We try to play a decent amount. Squad sometimes. Chat on clan chat a decent amount. Have fun!!! Some of us have decent hangers but none maxed. Us champs are there to help the lower players if need be. And like others said, no drama. Pretty sure most of us are older dudes. Whomever does the recruiting goes through their battle history and invites a bunch of peeps. Seen BB on the list a bunch of times but hasn’t joined. One can only hope.

Started my clan (Armored Ronin <AR> on Amazon) mainly to squad with my son, and for a long time I had an "anyone" policy, no matter how low-leveled they were. Eventually, we started to climb ranks due to the work of about 1/3 of the players, and I started to get a little more selective about who remained. Basically, I look for positive cup growth (for people who can stay) or no progress in operations or qualification (for those who get booted). I also will review player hangars and use the clan chat to tell players to fix messed-up bots, where their weapons are mismatched or their pilots aren't set up right.
My son and I alone almost outscore everyone else in the clan, though. We're #1 in DDD on Amazon; #2 is like 5000 cups behind us.

Ok, have played a number of games over the years...most have now shut down. Started a group and pulled in players...early on it’s hard...everyone wants to join a top group not a new one... But after a while you start to build up ... pick new players that you can give advice to, you have found what works - share it. Higher level players bobbing around new groups are probably going to come with some baggage (if they were that good why are they bobbing around). Players that stay with you probably always will - take friends and family whenever you can - again they will stay with the group. Rules? I always try to keep it family friendly...if your kids can’t read the chat, it’s the wrong kind of chat - now and again things do come ‘out’ but try to move towards an inclusive fun place to play. At the end of the day this is a place where you want to play, have fun and move up...if it becomes a stress it’s no longer fun!

If people are running support bots like Tyr, Menders, Weyland, they're not going to get as much HP or kills. But their willingness to run those heal bots in random team play I figure would be a great addition to a squad based on clan members. Can I ask how you organize your squad play? Who does it?

Thanks it does help although you're in a league way above me and my clan. Question, not that I'm ever going to do this, but how do you invite people who are already in a clan? I gotta ask, I'm a guitar guy too. I play Hamer USA's (Chaparral's and Standards) as well as Ovation acoustics. You?

Squad play: Pretty much on Discord. And as you can appreciate, if you treat War Robots like American Football, going in to any given map the squad will already know what the play is. "Everybody scatter and grab any ol' beacon" is not how we roll. We have enough active players in our clan that it's probable that at least one other person will be on from 8am to 10pm. So that's a duo. The more the merrier. 6pm to 11pm EST is probably prime time when we might have a squad of 6 and maybe another squad of 3 or 4 rolling. Sometimes we post on Discord, "Hey, I'll be on at 7 pm tonight" but that's largely unnecessary, somebody will be around. Discord is fun and helps a lot. "I'm going to center, suppress for me." "I'm going right, Bob you coming with me?" "I need help on center." "They are pushing for our home beacon." "Loki on the field!"

They must be clanless first. second. I play it all, I have a bunch of hot rodded strats, a couple les pauls, amd a few other weirds ones. I had my time with Hamer guitars. Good stuff. Had a Purple Chapparral wit hthe boomerang inlays back in the day..

I co-run ours with the leader so I am not the actual leader but: We are casual, all we want from our clanmates is them to play at least a bit (if they are inactive for more than a week or 2 without mentioning anything ahead of time they get kicked). We only really squad if there are people on and someone wants to. We all like to squad but we never say "this is when we squad, if you want to squad be there, if you aren't too bad". We do use a different chat-room as of late although we don't have many members who want to join so there are only about 4 of us at the moment. Our criteria for joining has been expert for a long time but as agreed between myself and the leader we will be trying to only get people from masters and up now so we can slowly move up the ranks (although we won't just kick those below the criteria). We basically recruit whoever isn't in a clan and shows up in a battle with us, if they speak english, don't turn it down and are active then we let them stay. As for practices, nothing really other than the squadding whenever we can and someone wants too. The activity trophies are what you are talking about, every month they reset so every time you play you earn or lose them (I think in the same amount you get in battles). If you are doing really well and playing a lot it can get really high (one of my clan members, the leader actually, consistently gets 1k, I usually hit 500 at the lowest). It really doesn't tell you much other than how much they have played and how well they are doing compared to what their trophy count was at the start of the month. As for our clan ranks, all the new players keep the lowest ones, those who have stayed for a long time or actually talk in the chat usually get a promotion. Basically if we trust them not to kick all the people on the lower tier they get the promotion.
If you want to know anything else just ask.
