Not a bad idea and I've done that against the Greek bots when I used to run a homing missile bot. I still prioritize them when I run my Vortex builds.
But, the Leech...it's really hard to tell a Leech from 600m away behind cover.

To satisfy my own curiosity, I ran a quick test on whether or not the corrosion damage from a Viper is included in the damage that gets Repulsed back by the Leech. The short answer is no. I used a Level 1 Viper, and emptied out the entire clip (about half a clip during two Repulses) and then looked at the damage done by the Leech. From the screenshot, you can see the Leech did 18,900 damage which is exactly 35% of the 54k regular damage a Level 1 Viper does. Also, having never used a corrosion weapon in the past except for Skirmishes when they were included, I wasn't certain how the damage is calculated and shown on the wiki. Is the corrosion damage included in the damage total shown on the chart or did it have to be added on? Turns out, you add on the corrosion damage to get the total damage for each weapon level. For example, a Level 1 Viper does this much corrosion damage: 39 (damage per charge per second) x 150 (# of charges) x 5 (# of seconds) = 29,250 corrosion damage over 5 seconds. So, the total potential damage of a Level 1 Viper should be: 29,250 + 54,000 = 83,250 Although, when I tested it on a Leo, the total damage came out to 81,987. It's possible I may have missed some of my shots, but it's unlikely since we were standing still at exactly 100m apart and the Leo has a fairly large hitbox. You can get the damage by subtracting the damage total in the first screenshot (Leech only) from the damage total in this one (Leo, then Leech). Not sure if there is anything here that you guys don't already know, but my clan member Koalabear , encouraged me to post it. So, here it is. So, cycle damage of a lvl 1 viper is 54150 damage yet you only did 33939. Leech returned 18900, so 33939+18900 = 52839. Where did 1311 damage go?

You have to add the corrosion damage to the regular damage to get the cycle damage for the Viper, which should be 83,250 at Level 1. I showed the math in my original post.
Since Corrosion Damage is unaffected by Damage Reduction, the amount of damage I did to the Leech breaks down to this:
Corrosion Damage + 54k x (1 - 90% Damage Reduction) = 33,939
54k times .1 is equal to 5400, subtracting this from both sides we get:
Corrosion Damage = 33,939 - 5400 = 28,539
Again, the corrosion damage is lower than 29,250 it should be, based on what I calculated in my original post. I think possibly the damage might not be counted over the full 5 seconds since it is damage over time, and maybe some time has to pass before any damage registers, but I'm not certain.
I could run more tests to try to pin it down, but I don't feel it's necessary since the purpose was to try understand the mechanics of the Viper, which I feel I do now.

This has been known for QUITE some time now. You're a bit late to the party. Dude, FWIW, I didn't know this. I was curious about it and the timing was almost perfect when RONIN1 started talking about setting up this test on our clan Discord. I was going to try to do it with him but the timing didn't work out for us. Kudos to my clan mate for doing this test and posting the results and a shout out to all my Nitro family mates who are on this forum! :Reads post: Why can't I see Koalabear on Discord? :Reads *clearly* visible in game name: There it is!

My in game name is Omega Guyver, named after a character I created in one of my short stories that I wrote a millenia ago. It was a fan fic with elements taken from Guyver Bio Boosted Armor and Underworld. When I joined the forum, I felt like I needed a change and chose Koalabear as it's a play on my real name. I tried changing my in-game name to Koalabear but sadly, it's already taken.
