To satisfy my own curiosity, I ran a quick test on whether or not the corrosion damage from a Viper is included in the damage that gets Repulsed back by the Leech. The short answer is no. I used a Level 1 Viper, and emptied out the entire clip (about half a clip during two Repulses) and then looked at the damage done by the Leech. From the screenshot, you can see the Leech did 18,900 damage which is exactly 35% of the 54k regular damage a Level 1 Viper does. Also, having never used a corrosion weapon in the past except for Skirmishes when they were included, I wasn't certain how the damage is calculated and shown on the wiki. Is the corrosion damage included in the damage total shown on the chart or did it have to be added on? Turns out, you add on the corrosion damage to get the total damage for each weapon level. For example, a Level 1 Viper does this much corrosion damage: 39 (damage per charge per second) x 150 (# of charges) x 5 (# of seconds) = 29,250 corrosion damage over 5 seconds. So, the total potential damage of a Level 1 Viper should be: 29,250 + 54,000 = 83,250 Although, when I tested it on a Leo, the total damage came out to 81,987. It's possible I may have missed some of my shots, but it's unlikely since we were standing still at exactly 100m apart and the Leo has a fairly large hitbox. You can get the damage by subtracting the damage total in the first screenshot (Leech only) from the damage total in this one (Leo, then Leech). Not sure if there is anything here that you guys don't already know, but my clan member Koalabear , encouraged me to post it. So, here it is.

That's why I changed to a Viper on my Weyland. Let that little sucker get what's coming to him.

I swapped out Avenger on my Mercury for Viper a while back. It's a semi decent counter to Leech.
Jump backwards when you are targeted and just let rip with the Viper on them. They are still taking more than 600 damage per snowball whilst only around 300 is being reflected back for a lvl 12 Viper.

Was there confusion on this? We know this is how corrosion works. Was this a test to verify this?

Verification is needed AFAIK.

I'm confused.
Assuming you shoot Vipers at a Leech while being Leeched, and the Leech isn't shooting back, do you incur any damage?
Is the initial shot 90% retributed while the corrosion damage isn't, or do you take in 0 damage altogether?

Is this true of Pantheon shields? (I know the shots do not penetrate, but if I miss a different target and hit the purple, will corrosion be absorbed for their counterfire?) Does VIPER fire take down AEGIS shields faster? (Corrosion + impact)

If I'm reading this correctly, the "instant" damage is transferred to the bot caught in the LEECH ability(at the advertised percentage...which I cannot remember at this time) while the corrosion effect damages the LEECH at its advertised level. So STING and WASP should be more effective against a LEECH than they are against any other bot. (YMMV)

Was there confusion on this? We know this is how corrosion works. Was this a test to verify this? Personally, I never paid any attention to any of the corrosion weapons because they seemed a bit pointless. They all seemed, at least to me, to have better alternatives in each of their respective classes. So, I ran this test in part to see for myself how corrosion works, and in particular how it works in relation to Repulse.
I get that none of this is new and there are probably several threads/posts stating as much, but I still wanted to see it for myself. With there being so many bots and so many weapons with varying characteristics, it's hard to know how they all interact.
While most members might already know all of this, I posted it because I figured it might benefit a few members who don't.

Is the initial shot 90% retributed while the corrosion damage isn't, or do you take in 0 damage altogether? The Viper does two different types of damage, regular and corrosion. As psychopsyd explained, the Leech only Repulses (redirects) the regular damage portion of the Viper to whoever it's tethered to. If you look at screenshot, the 18,900 damage (54k regular damage x 35%) my clan member did to me, was only from the Repulse when I was tethered to him and shooting him with the Viper.

Corrosion is point but for leeches and titans. Itโs marginally useful for falcons and fenrir at range, but the reality is that both these platforms will rapidly close to melee range with you. If you want to get revenge on the leech, tbis is the weapon for you. Otherwise most circumstances the avenger is better

Correct, Pixonic said that only the base damage is transferred, not DoT. Likewise, suppression is the same; it only effects the weapons, not Repulse.

In squad I use Vipers to counter all the Leeches. When solo I use Avengers as I donโt get nearly as many full clans.

I'm wonder if Viper is going to be future-proofed these new bots are coming out.
Maybe a buff?

I was curious about it and the timing was almost perfect when RONIN1 started talking about setting up this test on our clan Discord. I was going to try to do it with him but the timing didn't work out for us. Kudos to my clan mate for doing this test and posting the results and a shout out to all my Nitro family mates who are on this forum!

Now we need weapons that only do corrosion damage They would need to be missile weps, like a SPIRAL, or they would get you killed quickly.

Thanks for doing this and sharing the results! It's what was advertised, but always good to get confirmation and periodic tests over time. Cheers.

In squad I use Vipers to counter all the Leeches. When solo I use Avengers as I donโt get nearly as many full clans. I definitely see more Leeches when I squad, but I'm starting to see enough Leeches, even when I solo, that I feel I need a hard counter.

Yes I think that's why we are all levelling vipers now. This was actually my motivation for running this test. I'm building the first of two Vipers, and I wanted to know what to expect performance wise before I sank all that silver into them.
