Upgrading some ice weapons for my phantom. At what lvl do these things become viable? Thanks

I run everything at lv8 to begin with. I keep around 5000 rating.
The bonus effects of cryo don't scale with level, just damage.
I am not sure if the defense down stacks with multiple cryo but I doubt it.

My friend, you should know by now that for Champions League, optimal performance really starts around 10 or 11 Mk1, assisted by mods, skills, and boosters, because opponents will be high level with damage resist, shields, and enhancements. I checked a few hangars post match a couple times of people who were dangerous with them, and people who had unimpressive cryo output. The L11 Mk1 with enhancements performed much better than the L10 with minimal enhancement. That’s my observation. A good person to comment though is Rollo Tomasi cuz he’s running a Glacier Rime Strider. Whatcha say Rollo? |

I used level 8,9 cryo waepons on Tyr and phantom for a week, and I decided to use shotguns again. In my observation, level 9 Corona and Halo deal more damage than Cryo and Rime. Still, I wouldn't mind if one of my teammates freezes an enemy and then I use that 20% more damage.

I did compare these two type of weapons in brawling situation. When you run out of rockets, then you are a dead robot if you encounter another enemy, while fast reload time of shotguns make you always competitive. Also we should remember that Corona family deal good amount of damage around 300m even without pilot skills. |

Corona might hit farther, but storm does not, but besides that, storms have twice the cycle period. So I don't really know if Corona is worth it if you supplement the lack of lockdown with halos.
What I'm really trying to say is mixing just one cryo can have more effect than you might think. Especially at a better distance like 300M.

IMO the corona’s initial burst rate (much faster than a storm) and the reload time of the coronas make it a premium weapon over a storm. Storms are good for shield breaking and when cheaper/faster upgrades are required. Once the clip has run out you wanna retreat into safety anyway (if possible) and not stay in the open (coronas make you engagement ready faster). But even during continuous firing, despite a slower firing rate the coronas are supposed to deal more damage than a storm. Mixing in one cryo with 3 coronas say on a leech is interesting. 4 maxed coronas put down 384K damage during the burst. 3 maxed coronas and a maxed cryo would put down 357 but you would also get the damage increase which may push the mixed damage output higher than that done by 4 coronas. But than the reload issue of the cryo surfaces. Either way this would be an interesting test because the theoretical figures don’t take into account such things as particle spread on a corona. Got a feeling this is why the orkan was nerfed, why the corona will be nerfed and the cryos buffed. |

But I’m back to my ExoMk2 on Strider, because I won a 2nd Glacier and the combo just looks way too wicked on DW Ao Jun. But, back to the OP, I agree with 10 as min level to really get an idea for a new weapon, keeping in mind that it will be 21% stronger at lvl 12.  |

Took them out for a spin at lvl7 and I’m actually impressed with how they perform a such a low level. Definitely gonna pour some resources into these things. Definitely hit and run weapons for sure.
It works perfect with phantom. Run in and cause chaos until just before Last Stand, then teleport back to safety while advance healing. Rinse and repeat. Pretty fun !!!

Tried the Rimes x2 and ignite at lvl 9 on my Phantom. Not impressed. I think I'll go with my gust/ storm build.

I've been running this for a week L6 with L6 Rimes and L11/10 magnums and he runs pretty good.  Lots of fun and I'm hanging to at least L8 the Rimes and i just scored another one. I think I want to pair them with two Sparks. Ambush freeze and runaway causing damage from further back. |
