No big mystery about the topic....
Thinking on building an AVALANCHE in the w.s....it would replace my EXODUS on my QUIZ when leveled. If I like it, try to build 2 more for my FALCON to run with an AVENGER....
Thoughts?

The only use case I can see for Avalanche is running with tulumbas or using a Fury

Well I could see an Avenger, dual avalanche falcon...
My Falc has sharpshooter thunders (with avenger) and I never looked back. Dropping fat targets in a couple rounds is pleasing... But having a midrange falcon is still a good idea.
But the quizo, no (unless tulumbas'd). One avalanche is just a tease.

In short, no.
Explanation is simple, avalanche is pretty pathetic when you just run 1, and If you already have a leveled Exodus than absolutely not.

I havent got my avalanch yet. It is at about 50% in ws. But Im a big Tum fan. No so much for inqi.
But I think leveled up w a pair of tums could be an assasin. Only one way to find out. Unless i missed something I hadnt heard they were lacking.
Personalky I like at least 2 of everything thats worth having.

I sometimes run dual Avalanche (lvl 10) on my Avenger Falcon. It does OK on bigger maps. But on smaller maps, Exodus performs way better.

I built an Avalanche a few days ago just because I like splashy rockets and want ‘em all. Before I was running a high level Tulumba Spectre and moved 2 onto an Inquistor with the Avalanche. It’s good but I think the Spectre is better as it has more fire power, more speed, a smaller hit box, and a slightly better jump. However the Inquisitor has more durability and stealth. Still it’s a fun challenge to learn to play it, haven’t played an Inquisitor in awhile because it’s too slow for my usual taste.
Definitely pair the Avalanche with Tulumbas or similarly ranged weapons. 1 Avalanche is about equal to 1.5 Tulumbas, actually less I consider because the Avalanche is expensive to upgrade. My Tulumbas are level 12 mk1 while this Avalanche will only make it to level 9 mk1. Anyways for brawling the Avalanche is much less effective than Exodus and at range Storms will only tickle and don’t have splash which I see as the main feature, and one Avalanche is not enough of a deterrent.

Have you thought about a plasma or a Leadhose setup with sharpshooter on everything? I run a triple Avenger Falcon (with sharpshooter, natch) for range and it's very good, a plasma setup should let you stay that bit further away too. I imagine that a viper/Pulsar setup on the Quiz would be very awful for the reds too. |

I am actually running the Ava+Tulu Inq (level 9 Mk1 all weapons and bot)... it has its moments but is not the end-all-be-all of MR. I do prefer this build for the Inq, as it has become a liability in close range fights, more often than not, when I used PDB, Leadhose, or even DB builds in the current META. Scourge + Calamity, Pulsar + Dragoon, Hussar + Dragoon, are good for MR builds on an Inq, too, but the burst of the Ava+Tulu build fits the ability better. That said, I try not to use my jump to attack*, unless it's a jump that allows me to get to cover after I land and still get a good bead on the Red. When those opportunities occur, this build is going to get you the most bang for your buck during the jump since it can pretty much empty out the rockets while in the air. Otherwise, I just use it on the ground with the jump being an escape option.
For the active Mod, I use Shield Breaker for now, as I have it relegated the Inq to anti-Ares duty in the hangar that it is in. If I get a bad case of Ares infection, this bot will typically go a long way towards curing it. I like hitting one that is not expecting me, preferably behind cover waiting on the moment to attack, with a couple of single shots from the Ava hoping the splash hits them, trying to force them to pop the shield early and making them try to figure out what is attacking them. If they decide to wait it out in cover then I try for more splash attacks on them when the shield drops. This is more of a suppression move to keep them out of the fight a bit longer. If they decide to ride out the Shield time with a rushed attack instead, then I pop an SB pill and give 'em the gift of splash.
In essence, for me, it's a niche build.
*It's a bit risky to jump nowadays since so many folk still run Quantum Radar due to the proliferation of so many AJs... everywhere.
IMO, YMMV.

Full disclosure....
My lvl 12 QUIZ has armor modules....armor expert... legendary Marine skin...STORM sharpshooter...road hog...
He deals about 50k damage per second with a full mag at 150-175m and can still lay a lot of hurt out to 300m.
I'm not unhappy with him....he's a brawly assassin that strips shields and knocks back corner shooters.
Long range maps are a problem for him....I have to drop him in spots where the fighting is more "intimate". If I capture center on YAM, upon dying I send him in to clean up any reds that try to capture it from us. (Stay just below the platform on the ramp and send a wall of hurt that stealth bots can't avoid.)
EXODUS just reloads so slow... thought AVALANCHE might have an edge there as well as range....
Just spitballing.....
