Ok, if we're talking about which bot is better to have in general in today's meta, I would vote Rayker, even though I don't own one and I love my Mercury. Here's why:
The Mercury is almost a pure ambush bot. If you can't jump over an obstacle to ambush, or lure someone around a corner to ambush, it's out of its comfort zone. Sure, with Avengers/Shredders, it's got more range and harass options, but come on, if you're not using the Mercury to ambush, you're not using it right.
The Rayker on the other hand is faster and more mobile. It's ability not only renders your guns useless, but can do significant damage now too. The way the meta is shifting, the more useful bot is the one you can stay alive longer and do more damage over time. The Rayker can also halt enemy advances in their tracks.

I only have Rayker but face many a Mercury. So assuming equal levels, same modules and skills, good play on both sides in a 1v1 match Mercury will win. It has better speed, helldive and maneuvers better imho. The Helldive will get the win finally. I like Rayker btw. I have him with my beacon capper hangar. With 2 Sparks and a Viper he does good damage. Put Mechanic and Armor Expert on him. Kind of relearning how to use him as he sat on a shelf for awhile.

Originally when I got him for free, I thought it dies too easily. Decided to level him up and things changed. With Mechanic and Armor Expert, PS and Last Stand, it runs great. I've since replaced PS with SB, killing Areses all day long. I don't even wait for the Purple Panty bot to undress, I just use the SB, I've too much PCs to use anyway.

That is 9 km/h more than mercury's ground speed. Also a note on the maneuverability, I feel like merc's torso could turn a bit faster. It is already better than most bots, but I dont think it has the maneuverability of spiders.

I've both, it turns fast and the speed is way faster than a Mercury. Rayker is a beast when it comes to 1 V 1. As for Mercury, if you missed the HellDive, you have no 2nd chance. Unless of course as people said, loaded modules such as PS, AC and Last Stand.
I've seen a Mercury once, kept using PS right till his last sliver of heatlh...that is crazy. At least 4 times for the use of PS.

no pain 80 ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 I could only go by my experience as I dont have Mercury. And I usually see more red Mercurys than Raykers. So when Im in my TFal or Fenrir I have Merc dancing around me and he seems quite maneuverable. I lose more TFals that way, if theyre already damaged. Wiki says yeah Rayker wins a foot race. Raykers just seem to come stand in my suppressed face and shoot my bot. Just using what I see.

It seems like there is only one winner here when I put on L12 Avenger and 2x L8 Shredders on the Mercury or Rayker. Assuming a level playing field, both bots fitted with the same load outs, same situations, 1V1 against other bots or Rayker against Mercury (leaving player skills out for now). Without fail, bots you think cannot be killed , can be killed by just one of these 2 bots. Vote! had and ran mercury since about when it was released. Many changes to the game and mercury, even to the weapons I have used on him. Nothing can 1v1 me and win still unless they are equally skilled AND have a meta bot. Mercury is also a lot of fun to use. Rayker seems to be in the background of everything, doesn't work amazingly against the current meta because they most often have AC. Sometimes they can kill off 5 or 6 bots before they fall, sometimes they can't, so in my opinion I would use mercury and he would win

Mercury does well as an ambush bot, however using the setup you listed I saty back where I will be able to survey the field AND deal damage (not just harassing damage, really mean damage man, REALLY mean). I look for openings where I can steal a kill then escape, I search for any Quantum Radar and most importantly, make sure I don't hit a T falc with my jump. This setup also has more brawling power than a glory setup does (in other wrods I killed several mercury with glory, easily) while being able to get me kills and damage while getting into the range of my jump. I get to bait out QRs as well while taking close to zero damage. All I do is get within range of a suspect, jump straight in the air from behind cover and shoot at them. I then watch for the symbol, if it comes up I slam down behind my cover, if it doesn't I stay in the air as long as possible to get more damage and possibly bait it out if they tried to save it. What you said was ill advised and I kinda took offence from it since it was quite literally saying I run my favorite bot wrong. An average of about 2-4 kills per play of the bot and an average of 4mins in him does say quite a bit for the build and how I play him.

Run during your stealth and use lockdown on the sides so you can stop the enemy from following you. Think before you jump and plan it out better, then you have many more chances. Also, make sure you don't miss the helldive, I never do unless I jump blindly. Practice makes perfect so don't say that he can't escape unless you have practiced a lot AND tried pretty much everything. Also, that mercury is an idiot, PS is only really for bots with high speed since they can get away during its duration.

Yes, would be great to have a custom battle. But, putting aside modules and skills, the Rayker will beat the Mercury anytime. It's 3 ability charges is enough to kill the Mercury. The Mercury might jump and escape the first glance, but once it lands and it gets hit by the 2nd glance, the Mercury will be killed in seconds. I remember there was once on carrier map, this Spectre got suppressed before he did the jump over my head. By the time he landed, he got glanced again, gone in less than 2 seconds. I will try to get footage of how good the Rayker is as a silent and aggressive bot. I have a lot of fun piloting this little spider. I tried recording using the Windows 10 game recoder, it lags the whole game. here you forget the helldive and weapons, if I dodge the first suppress shot all I need is to hit you once or twice with my weapons then step on you, bye bye bug. Rayker only wins if it gets that first suppression shot and even then it depends.

I think the rayker would be the better bot most of the time on most maps because it has much greater ability to influence the outcome of the game by nerfing multiple opponents. it is a challenging bot to take on one-on-one with a mercury because it can nerf the mercury at range and again before it is close enough to hell-dive. So, unless it gets ambushed, it has an edge.
When I ran rayker, I loaded it with dragoons and Marques to match the timing and range of the 600m nerf weapon. I did not love it with avenger-shredder because Rayker is pretty brittle and that weapon setup requires it to be more exposed for longer periods of time. I think A-S is a better loadout for mercury.

Well, every day I kill Mercurys with Rayker and have yet to have my Rayker killed by Mercury. I can’t say the same vs Leech, but I have been killing a lot of Leeches with Rayker as well. This is not to say Mercury could never get the drop on Rayker, but I would take a R over a M every time for the reasons I mention in my first reply on this thread

Leech is just the OP bot for now...as usual, one meta bot all the time.
