Suggestion: Add a second version of the Rhino, which replaces the Rhino's twin medium hard points with a single heavy hard point. 10% increased bot HP to compensate for decreased firepower; in addition, bot has inbuilt side-mounted shields to protect from sniper fire. Each side shield has 1/3 as much HP as the frontal shield. Speed remains the same as the current Rhino.
Why should this bot become a reality? The Rhino is a tough bot, but...this one would be much tougher. Albeit with considerably less firepower; the Black Rhino would be a support unit, since it really wouldn't have enough firepower to singlehandedly defeat another Heavy bot. And we need more bots with Assault mode.
Why wouldn't it be OP? Again, not enough firepower. With an Ancile equipped, this bot would be a harder kill than an Ancilot, with much greater speed to boot. However it would have only half the firepower...trade offs. The Black Rhino is primarily intended to support the standard Rhino, providing either protection or simply additional firepower. And to make big maps smaller.
Why wouldn't this bot be redundant? Because the Rhino can't carry a heavy weapon. And Lancelot isn't fast. And light bots can't duel either one of the above.

I like this idea. I would like to have more variety of choice of robots. I, too, think this won't be overpowered at all, as single bot won't get close enough before it gets destroyed by splash (just like lance or normal rhino) constant availability of assault with less dmg makes him more of mobile support platform too (to quickly bring needed dmg spike of thunder pinatas i.e.) unlike lance with short speed spikes and higher dmg. fast mobile platform with ancile should be useful for team too. can assist fast bots at start or get to action faster on huge maps as for carnage - these bots are afraid of different types of dmg

On the current rhino, when assault mode is activated you lose use of the medium hard points. I'm assuming that we will lose use of the heavy weapon hard point when activating assault mode on the black rhino. My question is would an ancile deactivate when assault mode is activated?

Or how would it block the barrel of something like a Trident or Trebuchet? Overall I feel the bot would be a fail. The only 2 weapons that you could use for knife fighting would be the Thunder and Anicle. The Lancelot can equip those and still have more firepower and though it wouldn't have the hp of your bot it is still a tough nut to crack. If you want a range bot the Leo has an extra light weapon slot and it isn't exactly soft. I just don't see a valid use for it other than to give a slightly weaker option than those mentioned above just for the sake of vareity. Even then it would probably be a 5k gold bot that was ignored for the Lancelot.

Just chilling in turtle mode with Ancile-2xAphid...
Energy shield + Assault mode + 2 Pretty Much Ecu's + 2 Aphids = recipe for OP

@ Person-whose-father-is-named-Samuel, I thought about the gun blocking thing. What they'd have to do is create a mechanic where the main gun rotates the barrel upwards as the shield goes up, until the barrel is pointing almost vertical and is on the Black Rhino's back as the shield faces forward.
Now, the Black Rhino would ALSO lose use of its two Light hard points while in Assault mode, as they would be hidden behind the frontal shield. This bot is designed for high-speed beacon-running with more HP and firepower than any Light bot - it's not really a true brawler. It's designed to support more heavily armed units, with high mobility and durability. Why not run Lancelot instead? Because Lancelot can't move at 60kph for long enough to capture beacons. This bot would be able to move with relative impunity on the larger maps, without danger from snipers. Throw an Ancile on there, and you'd be immune to Tridents as well.
@ salt-lover-who-likes-changing-his-name, this bot has the firepower of a Vityaz. If it's wearing an Ancile, it has the firepower of a Stalker. Sure, it could move and would be exceedingly hard to kill. But firepower would be so pitifully small as to prevent it from being OP. Stalker can run and hide - this thing couldn't do that thanks to low agility. The Rhino, and the Black Rhino, are designed to charge headlong at the enemy. The Aphid is a weapon to use behind cover. So somebody puts Aphids and an Ancile on a Black Rhino? Stay 360m away and ignore him! Or else run an MDB Gareth or Galahad up under his shield and hit him in the face.

No. Ancile would remain active. Also, the Light weapons would be mounted inboard in the Black Rhino to accomodate for the side shields, so the light weapons would also be blocked by the frontal shield. So, the Black Rhino loses all firepower when in Assault mode.

No. Don't even bother. Why not make it something original, modeling it as another faster, heavily equipped Quadrupedal robot? Four legs can still haul and tug three large shields. Come up with an original robot design.

I clicked yes cuz its similar to my Juggernaut bot proposal, althouh it has two shields besides of three and can carry 2 heavy guns instead of 1 heavy and 2 light guns(which is practically has the same firepower),but thats another topic. And they say my idea is OP

I say Rhinos should have their horns cut off and made into aphrodisiacs.

I'll change my vote to yes, but only if you name the bot King Hippo. Armored sides, Two heavies in the mouth that must close when it charges. Put a couple lights on top to round it out.

LOL... I've known Strayed a LOT longer than you have... He makes worse jokes than that if I don't keep him in check LOL. And it WAS a joke. But sorry I offended.
