I realize that this game is not pug friendly. Put alot of resources into this Weyland as a very good healing support over my Mender. My ring healing is huge and my heals are ridiculous. But for some reason, every-time I try to support a team full of pugs, I end up getting screwed. One example is my last pug game, I had the perfect position to avoid being shot at from both missiles and projectiles. Other team was a 5 man premade party and we were winning due to keeping everybody alive. Suddenly, one of the ARES went around the corner and tried to backdoor us to get to me (suicide mission).
But of course, this Lancelot see's this Ares. This should be easy for the armored Lancelot. Just block him, I'll heal him, wait until Ares shield runs out and then finish him off.
So this Lancelot instead just runs around the corner to avoid getting shot and lets me get blasted to bits. Team goes after Ares and kills him but it's too late, team gets blitz due to bigger bench and better spec Mechs premade party.
I am soo done with support now. I should have just leveled my Mender instead of the Weyland. At least I can do things on my own if team is acting a fool. Is it so hard to protect the healer?
Only game that I have experienced this is when I am with a 4 to 5 man premade team that guarded me like I was the President of some country...

That sucks that the random team lacked the teamwork you expected. Unless you're playing in a clan with well-defined parameters, you are lucky to get that much support. I remember people complaining that teammates kept moving along and not allowing the support bots to heal them. Maybe the Lance was low on HP and didn't want to risk sitting still when one shot would, and did take him out. In the end, it's a game of individuals with different goals. Maybe he got tired of protecting your backdoor? I try to make use of healer bots, but I move a lot faster on my own and get more Beacons and Kills by going solo and it works better towards the win in my opinion. You get good games with good teamwork and some with poor teamwork. Just enjoy the good.

Quick question, what's a "pug"?
Anyway, it sucks that you're not having fun with the Weyland. I'm not a fan of the spider bots so I never thought to pursue one for myself. I love my Mender though, even though I don't use it much for healing others. I did have this one game on Carrier. It was one of the most frustrating games I've had. It felt like every single one of my bots were getting killed without accomplishing much or doing much damage. My Mender is my trump bot and I usually run it last and it felt like I finally was getting into it. Killed 3 bots but we still lost. I thought for sure I was gonna get a negative score, but I ended up coming in second place with over 800k damage. Man, that Murder Turtle is bloody useful!
If you can stand the grind, definitely go for the Mender!

And I am starting to see why I should have went with the Mender. Now all that resources that went to the Weyland (my idea was that a healing turret would be amazing, instead you are now the #1 target the 2nd you make yourself immobile) was almost a waste. I may have to deal with it until I am done with my Fenrir before I start on the Mender. I think I will enjoy being a mobile healing tank when I am done with the Mender. Right now, I am focusing on my Fenrir, so I can't stop with the Weyland and go somewhere else. I did play a game today where this Spectre ran into a group of 4 just to attempt to kill my Weyland. At least the team did attempt to kill him when he tried to go on his suicide run with his vortex setup. Came out with 8k health left (thank you last stand) when he died only to have a Loki sneak up behind me and finished me off. At that point, all I can do is tip my hat to the other team...lol.

Some people just don't deserve the heals.
Lately I've been trying to work Tyr into my lineup. My biggest problem (besides his lack of speed) is I can almost never give any healing.
Either I have bots right next to me at full health or I see someone in trouble and by the time my slow bot gets there they are dead.

Maybe you use the Weyland wrongly? Instead of defensive, please try play offensively. This will ensure you get top 3 almost every battles and at the same time, you're farming Ag.

Yea, maybe I am using it wrong. Currently, my only Avengers are on my Ao Jun. I do have 2x redeemers or embers (no glory)...maybe I should level them both and put them on the Weyland? Whats your thoughts?

Weyland can be a brutal brawler especially in Expert and below. I run a L9 with L10 Avengers and I have frequent 1m+ games. I also run a Mender in the same hanger (3 bot hanger) and it is also brutal, more so than the Weyland due to its mobility but both are worthy of any hanger in my opinion.
Pilot skills make a huge difference for both the Mender and the Weyland. I stacked them with True Ace, Module Expert, Mechanic and Armor Expert, the Mender has Deft Survivor which is amazing. Anyway, I wouldn't give up on him totally, just change your focus to brawling instead of support. You won't be disappointed.

Generally dont like spider bots but i was looking for something to replace my 3rd specter and wanted to add healing and a tank and thought maybe weyland could do both. I started using it as a brawler from start meaning 2 weapons (glory + ember) and actively looking for fights. I like it and it is currently my fav bot next to spec storm. Granted i have adv healing that i will use when needed and training my pilot. Added 5th skill last week: inc DR when ability on, which is already noticeable at lvl3. Have 2 speed skills in order to keep up with team, maybe add the 3rd as well. Used last weekendβs reduction to upgrade ember to 12 and weyland to 10. Building 2nd ember for it in WS. It is very good in BR to save contested beacon imo and effective against TR falcon and invader when duking it out in a beacon. Im in low Champions League 5400 M2c.

I might go back if getting a champion chest takes too long...five days to go before reset

Indeed. Tyr is slow as hell! As a support/heal bot it should be able to get to "injured" mates with some sense of urgency! But, nope! Some people just don't deserve the heals. Lately I've been trying to work Tyr into my lineup. My biggest problem (besides his lack of speed) is I can almost never give any healing.
