Here is my contribution. This was my first try, although it's only 929 league points. I experimented with tanking a few days ago, and haven't gotten back up to where I should be yet. Don't have a lot of time to play during the week so perhaps I will try again. By the way, I didn't ditch other bots, I just dropped the Gary and lasted the whole game. It was actually good practice. iOS

With the option of not killing off all bots at the beginning I would be willing to give this a try.
That would mean that any game where the Gary did not last would just not count.
I will say, the higher the league the tougher it is to survive with just one bot. I have played (old mm) low bronze with a destrier before and lasted easily the whole battle - but if I were to survive in silver 1 using a single bot appropriate to the level I am at then I would be very surprised.
It would probably be well worth levelling my Gary a bit more before I try it. (currently 8/9).

NIce! mijapi300 But you technically didn't get the medal for capturing beacons so i'll put an asterisk by your name on the scoreboard. Also what map was this on?

Why not just start the Gareth, if you lose him before match ends it doesn't meet criteria anyways. Then just play it out like any other match.
If you're able to hang on in the little thing the whole time, then bravo.

Not killing bots off at the beginning makes it much easier to capture beacons, and it also diminishes your survival instincts. You will only become a True Gareth Champion pilot by not cutting corners on the challenge. It is a Gareth Challenge because you are only driving a single Gareth in every match until you win. Running other bots if Gareth dies is basically just playing normal War Robots. That said, try a variation you are comfortable with because it is still lots of fun. Your score will still go on the board but with an asterisk if you can complete your version of the challenge.

If you're able to hang on in the little thing the whole time, then bravo. It's not a "Gareth Challenge" if you are running any bot other than Gareth. You are supposed to play the challenge until you complete it. Not just play War Robots normally and hope for a completion of the challenge goals.

I'm just saying that way if you don't complete it the match altogether isn't done even if your challenge is failed.

I'm just saying that way if you don't complete it the match altogether isn't done even if your challenge is failed. If you want to try doing it that way it's up to you. But I think you'd have better results if you played the challenge as written. I'll still give an honorable mention for doing things your way. If you want to simulate ejecting from four slots at the start, Just wait 10 seconds after the match has started to start playing (the 9:50 mark). That is the quickest I have ever finished ditching my bots.

「fluffernutter」 it. I'm going to give this a try. The grind has made this game a boring chase for silver. Maybe this will at least make it interesting. Thanks for the idea!

There's no way around feeling like an ?poo place? in this challenge. Oh, well! Edit: I should at least give the courtesy of stacking the bodies up

ΜØØSE I swapped out all my other slots for destriers level 1 and no weapons before starting the challenge to avoid that 「bum-bum hole」 feeling.

Yeah this challenge in diamond is... a bit hard, to say the least. You need to cornershoot every single bot you encounter, cap all beacons as fast as possible at the start of the game, avoid the heck out of ANY midranger, not take on too many plasma bots (if at all possible), and to top it all off you have to try and beat all of your other teammates in damage. I can see how this is possible in the low tiers, but to be honest i don't reckon it's very likely in the higher ones. I'll give it a few more cracks

i gotta mention, ditching 4 bots is going to hurt the psyche of the rest of your team. if i see somebody on my team ditch 4 bots in a row in the beginning of a match, it immediately puts the idea in my head that i'm going to lose anyway, so why try?

I guess we will be ranked by league points?
I just had a go during lunch and died super quick. Sadly I like to start off with my Golem first, whittle down the opposition with excessive corner shooting and then deploy the Gareth at about half-time.
Will try again after work. Great challenge btw!

Yeah, I definitely had lots of players on Blue looking at me at the start of matches once I finally got into my Gareth. Though, if your fellow blues aren't trying as hard, it should be easier for you to take top damage. The point of ditching all your other bots at the start is that is jacks up your survival instinct. The match is over if you die. Playing the challenge correctly and to completion has made me a much better Gary pilot. I do more damage and survive longer in the Gary now in my Gold level squad matches with my clan. If you want to be called King of all Garys, then you must only drive 1 Gary till you win the match and all the medals without dying!

I gotta be honest with you, I always drop my gary first to get some early beacons, and then suicide bomb the center just trying to hold it down long enough for the heavier-bots on my team to get in place to help defend center before i go down, and come back with something heavier. so, my Gary is thrown away in the first two minutes. I've noticed though, if it lasts the taking of center then my Gary is pure chaos on the battlefield, like an untouchable God and lasts to the end of the match

But the difference is the opponent's weapons. If there is a lot of plasma on the reds, I do great. Tridents and Tulumbas end me, however.

Just don't mech out your first 4 bots and play with the Gareth. If you survive to the end, it's all good. Otherwise just keep playing and try again next game.

And just like that, I dropped two leagues. I'm not sure there is enough HP on the opposing team in bronze to actually rank in this challenge.
