So for the past 3 months, I've been playing almost exclusively Domination, leaving my TDM hangar to sit back and upgrade in the background, i was admiring my lineup as all pilots do and my Trebuchet Butch caught my eye, thinking about how i'd play it, and i don't think it would be effective anymore, since the game is so speed focused nowadays i don't know if it will do me any good anymore.
I haven't field tested it yet in the current game environment, i don't even remember the last time i piloted it, but i feel like it's sluggish nature won't be good to me anymore, i'm thinking of completely converting it into a Flux build but i won't even have my first Flux for a few days, I've also considered a Gekko/Flux Rayker, assuming it's ability has a long enough range to accompany it, i could just pluck the Gekkos off my Patton in my standby hangar, hell i can bring Leo back out, anyways, opinions? Tips?.
The rason i'm bringing up Flux and Gekkos is because that's what I've been being fried with as of late, so maybe there's something i'm missing.

If you want something quicker, try Spectre sniper with Molots or Ballista. Both are pretty cheap to upgrade.

My thoughts: If you're looking for a long-term investment, I use Gekkos and Fluxes and I'm quite happy with them. I used Trebuchets for a while, and I found they didn't fit my play style.
Fluxes have high damage output, can bypass Anciles and are effective at any range. Unlike Molots, Ballistas or Nashorns, you can very, very easily test a shot without waiting for a long reload time. With Trebs, Nashorns, etc. if your shot hits a wall, you have to wait a while for your next shot
Molots and especially Tempests are also super weapons. Very effective against big robots and Anciles. They can do more damage than a Flux when you're close to the enemy. I was thinking about using them, but you have to be at most 800 meters, preferably closer, to the enemy to use them. I prefer staying as far away from the enemy as possible when I use a sniper.

If you have a lot of Gekkos, then do use Leo when you have the 1st Flux, then Natty for the 2nd Flux, eventually a Fury when you have 3.

Flux/Gekko Natash would be my go to. Shouldn't be that hard to get, and is annoying as hell on the reds.
