I thought War Robots was already available on Steam. Am I missing something? It's the (beta) version. Mail.ru probably gonna drop the project like the planned War Robots VR.

The regular War Robots version is also on Steam. This beta version apparently has new graphics controls. I have a current Steam account.

Looks great. Very BoT like deliberate walking movement. They should release it with pre-dash bots and weapons as Walking War Robots. I'd jump ship from Android to play that in heart beat.

Yeah, it looks pretty, that's really cool and all, but what about overall player happiness hmm? Balancing? Bugfixes? Listening to player pleas against modules and supply line key removal? Y'know, US?!
Still, seeing War Robots in HD threw me for a loop, hope it makes it to mobile so i can do the complete opposite and turn everything down to get maximum framerate.
Full HD might be cool for some screenshots though... It's like the graphics and deatil of the failed VR project with the gameplay of the main game, neato.

It seems to be that I'm the only one that recall the game used to look better in the past. Pixonic downgraded the original graphics and lightning effects of the game to something less detailed and more laggy.
Just look the shadows, the lightning in the Rhino back and the blur.

To be fair, when the game as in its infancy, devices weren't as powerful as they are today, i remember they teased a night version of Moon a while back, i don't know what became of it, but i hope they add a randomized time of day for games. Though, hope is very lacking when it comes to Pix.

Does looks good; needs some work to polish it off and fix lightning and scaling, but it is a nice start. PC is the only platform I would genuinely consider restarting on (even then though, would need to see a change of goals and behaviour from the devs/management). Obviously though, I would much prefer to transfer my progress, or for them to at least work on what is actually needed - such as going cross-platform first, and then balancing, bug-fixes, etc.
Hmm, I'll probably give it a go, kick some butt with some old school bots; despite crap MM I will probably have more fun than in regular War Robots, not going to invest anything other than a bit of time into it though.
I have my doubts that those graphics will come to mobile; from the brief look that video provided it looked like they were using a different engine; that may be fine for PC and a new development project, but it may require more work than they are willing to commit to, at least for overhauling the current mobile War Robots and maintaining compatibility with older devices. Then again, depends on the engine and their goals, I've not heard them say much about this beta or their plans for it.
Lastly, it really bothers me that it looks like a decent enough PC Mech shooter yet there is still no reload button, and still no manual use of Y-axis, seriously....

This beta is apparently working in the already existing steam / gameroom server. It is only an interface change. The steam account is ported to the new version.

Also, this shows that the company, if no one else, sees a future in the game on steam. It's a big investment on a platform that is really not healthy at the moment.

Unity Engine used by War Robots will scale up to PC and Macs. In fact, Unity Engine was for Macs first. No need to change the game engine, instead, just release its full potential.
This PC optimized War Robots version looks promising.

Nothing to be impressed about this game. This game has been on steam for awhile just a better polish up version.

It is already out on steam - but this is a new graphic overlay on the existing server. It's in beta but will be playing with people using the existing steam and gameroom server. So this is both old and brand new - but you haven't played it like this last year.

Tried it. Looks better, especially the lighting. Some explosions are cheesy flames though.
But, it doesn't run properly on my i5-6200U integrated graphics. I can be played, but it's not playable even at low details 1024x768 resolution full screen. So if they ditch the old version, and don't add even lower graphics options to the new one, my War Robots days are numbered...

Should note the reskinned Griffin is used in this game. I am hoping to check out the Natasha too but the old one still looks better than the new one.

So you're saying that all the while the version that I have been playing in Steam is Alpha version?

So you're saying that all the while the version that I have been playing in Steam is Alpha version? I assume this is a joke, but if it isn't... no. Current release version is just that, release version. Next version may first be released as beta in Steam beta channel for you know, beta testing (and may never become the release version). In this case Pix decided to do so, since the changes are pretty significant (to the point that beta is unplayable on my non-gaming PC).

I have installed the Steam version and now installed the public beta version. The instruction to switch to the beta are there in the War Robots main page on Steam.
The paragraphs there mention that this Steam public beta may eventually make it to the main version. But I guess there is a reason why its on Steam and not on the Test Server is because of the graphics and the fact they are doing the development on PC.
The paragraphs also mention that 17 robot models have been remodeled.
Canyon has been reworked so they say.
This video has the reworked Canyon and the remodeled Griffin.
Dead City looks even deader and reminds me of the old Walking War Robots version. This also shows the new Shenzhen. Note the surrounding skyline.

Well.. I installed Steam, then installed War Robots then switched to the "Beta" version... Personally.... I love being able to choose your graphics... I have a high-end PC and can run it at its fullest resolution and I have no issues with it.. LOVE the graphics, the realism on the Moon and Springfield are cool.. very cool.. the explosions.. a bit cheesy, but still very cool.. New sounds...
I hope it comes to Android..For the time being. I will play on the PC..and when I am at work or home with my tablet some place, the full version for Android..

They need to fix the lighting (Yama is so dark you can barely see anything) and tone down the rockets smoke. The Canyon map looks beautifull also the thrusters look amazing, hope they polish this version and im switching to it asap on my steam acc.

Because of all the graphic upgrades and the way it plays.. it is more immersive... You "feel" more as if you are on an actual battlefield.. With headphones on and a good graphics card and computer, it is really a big difference..
I am running iton my Photo-editing system which has a 32" screen and running it at full resolution.... This system though has 14TB of drive and 64gb of on board memory.. It is what i do all my graphic design and photo stuff on... So I don't know how it looks on other systems.. but on this.. It is very very cool looking... very gritty, dirty.. I like it..
