Hey guys [VOX] Bob Dylan here, i've been doing a fair amount of experimenting with non-meta bots & builds and just thought I'd share a few gems i've found for champion league iOS.
1. Vader Raven
With 2 scourges and 2 sparks this has actually been a top performer for me in Champion league iOS to dominate the midgame on every map. The DPS is unreal up close and still a very solid all the way out to 600m. This serves a couple functions for me, it's usually a 2nd to 4th bot dropped depending on what the opposition has on the field, i'm looking to drop this against soft midrange (any Fury, Tulu Specter etc) or against an opposing brawler push. Against the brawler push you have the ability to damage them the entire way in while slowing them down for your team to set to set up defenses. Lastly, if the reds have flipped or are contesting a beacon and you can no longer drop in on it, her double jump covers enough ground to rescue the beacon or make them over-pay with bots for taking it. Bonus: Strong against Ares & greek bots.
2. Lockdown Galahad
Sir Galahad equipped with 2 shredder/halo and scourge/corona. I prefer shredders over halo personally but not because it locks more or does more damage (they're even) but because the spread on shredder is horizontal *and* vertical. This allows me to hit bots in stealth much more easily. I've been running this build a LOT and it's super powerful against everything that isn't rockets. Typically i'm looking to drop this when the enemy is running any plasma, dragoons, or pursuer of any build. I will always drop this if I see a persuer pushing territory, the shredders hit them easily in stealth and they cannot break the shield before the stealth wears off. This build is also useful for pushing enemy dragoon builds back out of useful range and again, BONUS: great against Ares & Hades as they can't break the shield with retribution and you can lock them after and typically maim or kill.
3. Stick-man Inquisitor
Quizzie with Pulsar and Dragoon. Seems like an odd build but it is incredibly powerful and useful for repelling opposing midrange, one clip is often enough to kill any bot without a physical shield and the lockdowns out to 600m are terrifying for defending the middle of the map. Inquisitor has an automatic "panic button" in a stealth jump backwards to reset, reposition and continue pushing. Uses: Defending middle if ahead, mech-out enemies if behind & support push. Bonus: Great against greek bots.
4. Gunship Specter
I'm not sure who out there has tried Molot T's since the most recent rebalance but they are currently in BEAST MODE if leveled up. This build literally kills anything in one clip from 600-700m if they're caught in the open. Not only that this build is great at any range, it's not just a sniper. If you manage your ammo and jumps correctly this bot is frightening to face off against. This is what the punisher griffin used to be and more. Enemy Bulwark Dragoons got you down? Not anymore, this will drop an aegis and their physical shield in a single clip and send them packing back to irrelevance. Bonus: Great against greek bots. (catching the theme?)
5. Crusher Strider
Been having trouble with opposing hellburner pushes? Here's the build for you! Strider equipped with Exodus and Gust *will* always win center beacon against opposing meta Hellburner or Strider builds. This easily drops an ancile ECU hellburner to dust (fire gusts first, then exodus) and out DPS's any other builds rushing to center. Learn how to skate the strider off ledges and how to time multiple dashes for extra speed and you'll be winning the race to middle every time and sucking up all the silver coming to you for the first wave of bots. Remember, if an ancile/ECU hellburner is coming to you, drop its ancile shield with gust then fire exodus second, when they're close to death dash 100m away so you don't take them hit and move back into center. Bonus: Great against greek bots, save up dashes and dash INSIDE the shield and you can kill them while bubbled, it's great fun to do. Trust me.
Just some food for thought and some idea that have worked wonders for me in the current greek meta.
Cheers!

Thanks for the analysis! Very interesting builds.
I am intrigued by #4. I'm assumning you're running Mk2 Molots?
The lockdown Galahad seems to serve exactly the same purpose as the Pulsar Bulgasari I used to run. On the positives: front facing shield and higher base speed. On the negatives: fewer lockdowns, less range and no panic button. I'm glad it works because it is a less costly alternative worth checking out

Also Pursuer can't circle around you and kill you because Galahad turns fast and you can keep that 200k+ shield between you and them until they get locked. Then stop firing and wait for stealth to drop and kill.

Thanks for this post! I'm a lover of non cookie cutters. And not that I'm doubting you Bob, but I really really really would love to see an effective molot spectre. Plus as of 4.0 Total Upgrade Cost: 48,005,000 Ag?31,970,000 Ag! It's like light weapon old economy cheap!!

Map depending it's mostly going to be a flanker and opposing midrange hunter. It really can knife fight in a pinch as well! Keep in mind each gun is doing 100k damage per clip in ~10 seconds, thats pretty quick unload time compared to Punishers... they say optimum range is 300m but I find that i'm doing a LOT of damage from 500-600 and still really effective damage from 600-700m which is the sweet spot for hunting dragoons.

Cheers! the Gala is Great against Ares, its something i've Been typing since ARES has come up. every 1vs1 so far my Gala has come out Shining. only Two ARES build are my Bane(really a problem for anyone) Tulu and Orcs, but thankfully these are Rare right now since most run Energy weapons. Gala: (1)tulu/gust/shredder , (2)ork/gust/gust ,(3)tulu/shredder/shredder ,(4)scourge/gust/shredder these are some of the loadouts i have run, sometimes all at the same time. one build i wanna try is Hover ork(2)/shredder or a scourge(2)/shredder mainly due to the Hover ground speed an ability to Circle fast. my Gala Fight with the Ares is one of the Reason i want a Nemesis, that and i like unusal builds

Never heard of Cusher or Stickman builds before. Nice.
Vader is a cool name too but I prefer to call the Scourge Spark build a Taser.

Great post OP.
I have also taken a liking to kinetic weapons lately. I run a shredder/Punisher T mender and it's a beast. Both weapons can hit pursuers in stealth due to spread and when the enemy tries to get into brawling range they quickly find out how much damage a mk2 maxed Punisher T dishes out below 200m (answer: 200k per clip).
Currently I'm building an avenger 2x tempest falcon. Utility bot that can brawl but also counter dragoons and tridents from afar. The fangs out ability and cooldown matches perfectly with tempest unload and reload time.
I'm curious about the molot build though because if you want to stay out of trident and dragoon range at 650-700 metres you are only doing 50% damage at least on paper. That's 200k per clip from four molot Ts. Does that match up to what you are experiencing in game?

Thanks for the post! The Galahad has me thinking. I never upgraded my Galahad past 8 cause I kept running into RDB and DB builds. Maybe I'll experiment with mine again...been itching for a change. I just wish I had more root guns to go around.

I just wish I had more root guns to go around. Yup, rockets are still great against Galahad but thats a part of battlefield awareness and being able to accept that every build has a weakness. For every time I get hit with orkans or tulus that weren’t freshly spawned into the beacon I can look back and see that I just wasn’t paying attention to my position or route. But then there’s those times where you hunt down multiple bots in plasma and take them out with ease that make it all worthwhile.

Great Post OP. That molot Spectre really bugs me. Would love to use a kinetic weapon like a molot. I may just 「fake pee place」 some under levelled molots and have some fun.

Any trident build is also good for punishing any ares cowering around a corner waiting for their P2W button to regenerate.

Alternative counter:
step 1: don't spend any money on the game step 2: don't spend any resources on Greek bots step 3: go into suicide mode when you meet Greek bots on the battlefield and drop a few leagues so they just end up fighting each other eventually optional step 4: go into suicide mode when you meet Dash bots on the battlefield and drop a few leagues so they just end up fighting each other eventually optional step 5: go into suicide mode when you meet Stealth bots on the battlefield and drop a few leagues so they just end up fighting each other eventually (Stalker being the exception here)

If you don’t want to play, why poo poo it for others?

For giggles, I switched weps to a LEO. (DRAGOON/SHREDDER/2xSPARKS) Lost speed and shield but picked up firepower and almost 100k hp.

But in my experience it’s easier to kill them than it is to lock them since the lockdown nerf. Halo and Shredder while still great, are a bit less reliable. Killing them when they don’t have any defenses is pretty reliable though.

I'm pretty sure he waits for me to drop the Bully so I have to spend my time managing my shield rather than taking down reds. At least that's how I imagine it. Conversely, if I see that Spectre in range, it's one of the first bots I'll try to pop. So yeah, it's an effective counter-meta build. Wouldn't mind trying it myself one of these days.

Honestly it's a problem Pix created themselves. If you're a F2P player and rise in the leagues, there will be a point where you give up after you get beaten up time and time again by whales that buy new meta bots and max level them instantly. If they fix matchmaking so that you don't encounter Mk2 level 12 new bots/ new weapons when you don't have any Mk2 stuff or new stuff, the problem is solved. I have no problem with people that do pay 2 win. But a F2P player should still be able to enjoy himself without getting frustrated...
