What’s the initial verdict on the Greeks?
Massively OP and game changer OR over rated? Easy to destroy if you know how?
Ares or Hades?
Vote now

Ares has massive firepower while hades has a more forgiving with the larger health pool. And nemesis is like mercury before they buffed it, the worst of the 3 by far.

I think the Hades is better. Why? Well, it has a series of protection. First the extra gun, then shield which is awesomely unbreakable then repair mode.

After spending the better part of the weekend playing Skirmish, I think that the Greek Bots are overrated. It's certainly fun to step out into the open and blast the reds while behind a shield. The extra punch from the extra weapons is a nice touch. But as soon as the shield is gone and they are out in the open they fall like any other bot on the battlefield.

Nemesis is not bad. It's just, compared to Ares everything looks bad.
He's more support bot than brawler. Load up Tulus or Pulsar and combine with the built in rockets for nice MR damage.
Orkan setup (current skirmish) is not that bad either.

Skirmish isn’t realistic way to judge them cuz everyone has them. Invincible ability vs bots that don’t have it is op.

I well, the fact that I was able to take them down with the Mender and the Specter is realistic.

I'm still shook when I see a Bulwark... So these new bots make me piss my pants. ? The good news is I'm only in Expert, so the players using these newer bots aren't very aggressive. I held off an Ares, I think, in a Castle battle from crossing the bridge to get to beacon A. I was in a Rayker. Well, there was a Treb Butch with me, but I credit myself. ? Then a Lancelot came along and captured the beacon as me and my teammate in the Butch moved down the hill.

I have a Ares with dual shredders/pulsars and it's a really fun bot. It's like a Bulwark in the sense that you have to time every encounter around the ability. It's definitely not op IMHO but will get a nerf.

Ares is very impressive in terms of its firepower, but with the 18 sec cooldown, it is sitting ducks for stealth or dash bots. Nemesis has 8 sec cooldown, yet again, enough to be chewed by a stealthed flyby from a inky or spectre. the mid-range support builds for all the Greek family of bots could be very dangerous imo.

I could run that set up and it would be deadly but target lock has been horrible for me lately. I had to change out my scourge spec because it's so bad. Plus I like the pew pew sound! The small things right? Right? hahaha

Alone, they are not OP. Depending on the load out, they can be incredibly tough. But, if you watch them carefully and time your attack, you can take them 1v1 with almost any current meta bot. But, if they start working as a team, then yeah, they are pretty OP.
My last Skirmish game was like that. Basically, in Valley, by the 2 flank beacons at the bottom of the hill, both teams finally realized the importance of game play and we basically popped in and out of cover all battle long, with an occasional bot dying from bad timing or too many cumulative hits. Add in the Menders that were running around and healing, it was a very long, intensely satisfying game. I don't even remember who won. But, take that same scenario and match one side with "legacy" bots and you'll have a pretty one sided massacre.

So, just a quick update. I had a game this morning on Springfield and the reds had multiple god bots. I say multiple but then I'm not 100% it wasn't the same one going back and forth. Anyway, I slaughtered by one and I didn't even have a chance. So, to amend my previous opinion, when you add skill into the mix, and the bot is piloted by someone who knows what they're doing, knows how to use cover, and knows how to time their attacks, then yeah, in comparison with other bots, these bots are OP. Especially the Ares thanks to it's superior ground speed and multiple weapons. It's probably the single most unbalanced bot since the Spectre first came out.

This thing is stupid powerful in the right hands. Look up the most recent Predator video w him running one. At MK2 max it deals 182k damaged with its internal weapons if a person shoots his shield. Now add the two medium and two light weapons, just plain ridiculous.

Ive faced an Ares multiple times now and all I can say is runaway and pick another target. There's really no way to fight it other than corner shoot like a madman. If it gets to fire on you then its instant death. One of the YT'ers like manni or adrian has a video out now with some testing and Pixonic just said ?fluffernutter? it with that bot and went so overboard with the absorber ability. This isn't exact but if it absorbs some fire and then release it back at you then it's like another 100k damage in a short burst on top of your 2 light and 2 med weapons lol!!!! At 500m!!!! And the thing is fast too!!!
I'm seeing one per match in champion league already, so Pix obviously won this round at $99 bot price + crazy upgrade costs.

I really feel that if they were interested in balance, then technically, if fire cannot reach you when the absorber shield is up, then you can't fire out of it too. Part of the problem with these bots is that they can keep shooting you while they're shield is up and you're holding your fire.

I'll be yer huckleberry. ? Go with the shredder pulsar build. I have them all at L9 and they do good damage on their own. Plus you really really want the lockdown if you can get it. Both for taking out in opponent or helping you get away after you've used your ability. Much more valuable to me thanrunning scourge and Sparks. Another really good option is halo and coronas. Amount of damage those will do even from 300 m is underrated. And that should still give you plenty of time to find cover.

Not a serious damage doer but a super fun bot.

Welp I officially hate the Ares because a low-end Champ (5005 points) just wrecked my team in 4 minutes and 15 seconds on the Moon map in Dom mode.
Lvl 7 Ares with lvl 7 Orkan/Orkan/Halo and lvl 8 Halo.
He had 785k damage while the rest of us had under 500k damage including his teammates.
Wth was a Champ doing in a battle among M2-E3 players? ?

I’ve now faced them a number of times. They are a one trick pony. If you engage (close to cover) and get them to activate ability and manage to avoid the salvo then they are glass canon’s.
