The last champion hangar data was published on July 2018. You can check it here.
A lot has changed since then.
- The new economy has been in full effect.
- WS 2.0 was introduced and quickly updated to WS 2.1.
- 3 new bots and 8 new weapons have been released.
- A large scale rebalance buffed and nerfed numerous setups.
- The latest event encouraged spending of Au and Ag.
Quote from previous post:
The last statement seems all the more relevant now in the new economy.
Why I did this: While collecting data from the legend league is interesting, it lets us look at how much each bot/weapon is used in a highly competitive environment, almost regardless of cost constraints. This is somewhat irrelevant to a lot of the players. I think that, low champion data is more relevant, in the sense that, performance is still a decisive factor on what is used but pilots often have to compete with readily available equipment.
First of all, some info about the data:
- This is Android. It has been said before that iOS is slightly different and more advanced.
- The data was collected from 100 unique IDs, consisting of 115 ACTIVE hangars. This means that extra hangars that were used as storage (i.e. bots with no weapons) were omitted. So were exrta hangars that were very low leveled compared to the main hangar(s). Every hangar that qualified as competitive and/or was properly maintained was counted in - 115 in total.
- I currently reside in low champ - around 5100 and 5160 cups. All the info was gathered in Champions League bracket 71. While pilots here are not firmly in Champions League (a bad loosing streak and they can slip back to qualification), I reckon that their hangars have at least some staying power to be indicative of what setups can achieve Champions League and break through the Master->Champion wall.
- Lastly and most importantly: how to read the graphs. They are NOT absolutely indicative of what people face in Champions League. What they show is, gear and setups that can reach Champions League - among other things. YMMV of course.
My comments at the end. Complete data in 2nd post.
BOTS:
WEAPONS:
TOP BUILDS:
PILOT DEMOGRAPHICS:
The following are average values.
Multiple Hangars: 12%
Bot level: 10,0
Weapon level: 11,0
Mk2 items per hangar: 2,7
Victories: 4367,7
Winged cups: 2071,0 (misleading since a few IDs had over 10000; see next graph)
- Overall, distribution of bots/weapons seems similar to what the Legend League looked like 3 months ago.
- While the top builds/bots/weapons haven't changed much over the months, build diversity and experimentation is higher. Likely because of the rebalance.
- The new economy certainly took its toll and people are slow to change their hangars. My guess is that all these Haechis, Spectres, Orkans etc, are OE.
- In the vast majority of the hangars I checked, people had a few items (2-3 on average) at lower level, which I think indicates new economy gear.
- A clarification on Mk2 numbers. Because I had to consider efficiency while gathering data, only the last 2 levels of Mk2 are counted. Mk2 12 was represented as lvl 14, Mk2 11 as lvl 13, Mk2 10 as lvl 12 etc.
- Multiple hangars are not needed nor favored by most pilots.
- Depending on where you draw the line, many pilots are new to Champions League.
