I’m new to the game. About 5 days now is about all the experience I have. But I’ve noticed the pricing is astronomical. $59.99 for a weapon is a bit much isn’t it? How do we get ahold of the developers of this game to let them know? That’s legit a new Xbox or PlayStation game.
From a new players prospective I’m going to lose interest pretty quick if that’s all I have to look forward to is ridiculous prices.

And now I have to purchase ad free viewing too? Is this run by the developers of War Robots or is it privately run? If it’s the owners. Talk about milking every penny.

You got it ... many F2P players here but it is a grind and you will always be behind the meta curve Find your happy place ... don't try to spend yourself better, unless you want to throw $1000s regularly at it. You will earn new robots & weapons ... but it is slow progress ... Good luck

In relation to what you have to spend to get a hangar leveled 60$ is cheap. Mind you get a useless weapon at lvl 1 for the money. To level a hangar you must spend in the thousands. Or wait for a very long time (year)

Welcome to the wonderful world of War Robots. Excellent game that is slowly being ruined by the people running the game. Find your balance of F2P or P2P, or if you have a ton of dough squirreled away, become a whale. If you want a decent taste of the game, stick with rocket weapons like the Tulumbas and Pin and stay at 500m from the reds

Step away from the keyboard/tablet/device and RUN away from this game. Absurd real money costs and hellish upgrade times await you, paired with the foundation of a great and addictive game.
Short story: Mail.RU bought a stunningly greatgame several years ago and have since implemented a monitization scheme more aggressive then I’ve ever experienced.
That $60 is a single weapon, and it will take you a month to upgrade it to be viable in high levels. And most bots cost the same or more and need 2-4 weapons EACH. And you can get 5 bots per hangar. And many have multiple hangars. You’re looking at 2-3 years or $5,000+ to reach top levels on iOS or Android. And the match maker is designed to pit you against higher level players to encourage spending.
Many who still play have been here a while and the player base is decreasing. What you invest in now may be worth nothing if/when the game finally shutters.
I love and hate this game. If I were a new player just starting, it would be all hate.

And yet sometimes people pay for these things! Unless it is gold, (Which is still too expensive) the purchase is really not worth it.

As a old player I’ll give you one advise : Game is not worth playing for new players unless you can spend thousands of dollars in the game . There many other mech games out there but if you still wanna play War Robots then play 6/6 leaugue only for starters. Later you can upgrade as per your interest but I bet you would hate game once you play 6/6 leaugue

I assume you are talking about the forum in this post? No, it is not run by fail.fu and their evil minions, Suxonit. (The original Pixonic developers left when mail.ru bought the Pixonic name and, what was at the time, Walking War Robots, and started a company called Red Button and made a new mech game... it's just been released in fact... Battle of Titans. I like it so far, you should check it out. No real P2W or P2P component there yet. Mostly a skill + knowledge competition, even when top gear is used against noob gear.)
We are just players. Some folk who post, regular members, not mods, have some affiliation with them... but not at the employee level. Rather, just players who are considered "influencers."
We are, for the most part, too critical and free spoken here for the "devs" to try and get cozy, I guess. They used to talk to us and stuff... but now... reddit and FB are the only places you will see them interact with the players.
The Ad Free option is a function of the forum hosting site, itself: Pro Boards, not us. It's how they keep the forum free.
IMO, YMMV

As mentioned above, there is still a good free option available that only takes a couple of months of grinding in the 6 pack league.
I am currently slowly running a starter account to see just how difficult it is - even for an experienced player. In the beginning open lots of bronze boxes - they give really well for about the first 10 pulls.

Thanks for the answers guys.
Like one of you suggested I’ll find a balance between paying and F2P. Right now I’m just wowed by the amount of money they want for so little of gain. Not even world of Warships is this ridiculous.
I’d certainly like a sit down with their dev team and the people who come up with these prices. I’m small. But a 2x4 helps if I have enough space for a backswing.

I say don’t spend real money. Pixonic turned into a big bad wolf, and we the players are the ‘red riding hood.’
This game is bad for children.

you don't need to buy big weapons so early on, trust me, it's much much more fun early than later. you're better off leveling up the basic ones and using them for a short time. enjoy your time in the lower leagues, once you're out of gold league and into diamond and above, it gets alot less fun.

Definitely come over to BoT as more people are coming in the mm is getting better and better. The devs actually care and listen. A mm change happend and was hated universally and was changed less than half a day later. Like Tricky48 said there isn't a pay to play or pay to win model its all skill. Its not perfect its still just a baby on global release but its awesome. I haven't touched War Robots since the launch and was able to download. It is what WRR shoukd have and could have been. Plus the spiders act like spiders and crawl up under and on everything!

Resist the urge to advance too quickly -- the game is designed to move you up to ridiculously stiffer competition to entice you to spend money on higher-end gear to keep up. It's just chasing a carrot that you will never catch unless you can dump thousands of dollars into it. Best bet, try all the bots you can -- the game does give away lots of gear early on -- and see which ones you enjoy running the most. Don't worry about max damage or winning every game, just play and learn tactics, as well as different loadouts' strengths and weaknesses. And absolutely don't dump any money into the game yet until you've played for a good while and see where your money would be best spent -- if you're planning on spending any money at all. Likewise, don't blow all your gold right away on everything the game throws at you -- it will be more useful to you later on. You can go a long way playing for free (F2P) by just playing a lot and 'grinding' for gear. But most importantly, be patient, and don't be lured by the slick new bots and weapons you'll likely see more advanced players with. Good stuff will come in time. Not all of it, but some of it. Just be warned that there will be waves of success and frustration -- it's all baked into the game to get you to spend real money. The matchmaker is not your friend. Enjoy the successes, and try to just roll with the frustrations and learn what you can from them.

Monetization in this game is just disgusting, we all know that.
But! It's still possible for a new player to have good fun and progress. Just don't expect to move to champion within a month or have all those crazy weapons/bots, if you don't drop money.
Here is how a new (f2p) player could progress: Get 2x Griffin, Leo Only use Tulu, Punisher and Thunder Save gold for 4th slot, fill with Natasha Save gold for 2x Orkan, 1x Avenger, 2x Trident -> Tulu/Pin Griffin, Orkan/Pinata Griffin, Avenger/Punisher Leo, Trident/Pin Natasha Save gold for 5th slot
Also, the situation has become a little better recently for low to medium payers: Upgraded Premium More gold weapons/bots Reduced gold prices Reduced upgrade times on gold items Sure, you can't build them in the workshop now but that doesn't matter much for a completely new player.
