Gday all.
New to these forums, and been playing a few weeks.
I know the MM is issue is oft discussed.
I read the article at
warrobots.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:60155, and this was very helpful in explaining why all of a sudden I started getting regular wipes.
I parked the heavy mechs for now and worked on my hangar and balanced it out.
I currently have 2 Light 3/6 and 2 Med 2/3 (none of the new mechs), and was enjoying the competitive battles (win or lose). According to that scale, I was around 310 for my hangar.
Occasionally you would get the Mag Geps and Aphid Geps "seal clubbers", but most games were epic and going down to the last mech standing.
But something has changed in the last week or so.
I have gone from having a victories % of ~70% to under 50%, bring unable to win very few battles in often one sided affairs. And this is over a lot of battles - so more than just bad luck.
My hangar score should be around 300 after victory adjustment should be around 300.
I've been looking at the opponents hangars to get an idea of what is happening.
I've noticed that I've suddenly been up against a lot of heavies and they're rated 6/4 to 6/6 which puts them around 600 on the MM scale.
Their victory %'s are usually 70% plus, which should bump them up toward 700 on the scale.
Same with the hangars containing five Mag geps that are 2/10 with 80%+ victories. These guys should be around 550+.
So how are 550-700 rated mechs ending up in battles with 250-300? This just seems silly if you want to keep new players around.
Running around a corner in a light mech into a Leo with a high level Thunder is pretty heartbreaking (for about 3 secs). :-(
I've read through a few threads here on the MM subject and there are conflicting views.
Yes the MM system is imperfect and it depends on numbers of players online, but with 20 million downloads, I don't think the servers are quiet (and I rarely see the same person twice).
I understand that Wikia article is a guide, but it made sense and it seemed to work for awhile.
I've tried different times of the day to avoid certain times that the seal clubbers seem to play.
You do occasionally get some stronger hangars in that +/-75 point range, but the challenge and the battles used to be fun.
Unfortunately, so many (>90%) in the last week end in complete wipes after only a few mins. Not particularly fun.
So I thought I'd post here to get some feedback from more experienced players.
The bronze/silver/gold tier system is gone based on TintehFiend's (excellent) submission in Sep 2016?
Is the wikia article still reliable at lower tiers?
Has there been any MM changes in since Halloween?
Appreciate any advice.
