I took some time off the game (only getting my daily stuff) right before the new workshop and am coming back to play a little more now.
There has been a lot of nerfs, so whats the best new weapon/bot platform.
It seems like auto cannons do well to me, and energy weapons are making a come back. There is a lot more balance for sure. Lockdown weapons and fire weapons are top of the heap it seems but the damage is not great.

One weapon to lock them down... The others to do them in.

Currently it is gonna be halo blitz, spectre with tulus, and dragoon bulwark. But once the two new Greek bots come out, they'll be the meta.

The new meta is the non-meta. So is that meta?

The old meta is also good. Pre economy meta. Mk2 L12 orkan for instance compared to a L7 something new.

I am not sure there is a dominant meta anymore. We are in an era where you can have many good builds, even using classic silver bots.
One thing for sure is that the Shocktrain Specter/Bulgasari/Haechi meta is dead. At this era, the use of the Shocktrain may even hinder your own team, and can even be a liability.
What has changed --- and the fact that more and more people are picking Beacon Rush --- is that matches are more brawlier and brawlier. There is much more focus on beacon and territorial domination, pushing away the other team by brute force and rush.
Stealth is still important, actually, remains most important, but needs to be matched with high burst damage weapons. The stealth bot that feels to be the most important now, is the Shotgun Pursuer (Gusts or Halos or any mix of the two). Note however that stealth bots are dead ducks on open areas, they can be quickly taken down by lockdown weapons and dragoons.
Next to that is shields. Shields that block energy damage. This can range from physical shields, like Lancelot, Bulgasari or even the Gareth or Galahad, to the Aegis shield in the Blitz and the Bulwark. You have a weapon meta that is predominantly energy based, especially with lockdown weapons and dragoons, but other still matter, ranging from Tarans, Trebs, and Zeus, along with the occasional Shocktrain. Let me rephrase that. I believe anti-energy shields --- in all its forms --- are now as important as stealth, and maybe more so. Do note the return of relevance of the Britbots.
Next is damage resistance. Brought about by the Falcon and the Mender on its special ability. Damage resistance can be seen as a variation of shielding.
For weapons, its clear --- the Lockdown weapons. But unlike the Shocktrain, the Lockdown weapons need other weapons to finish the job. In a way, that makes all weapons important, but it makes burst weapons more important because you need them to kill the target before the lock releases. You don't have to have a lockdown weapon to benefit from it, just someone in your team. But eventually you cannot continue to depend on someone, you will need to have some of your own. IF you do have lockdown weapons, I don't suggest putting everything in one robot, but put one or two, and then mixed them with high burst weapons. Its better to spread these weapons out in order to sustain throughout the match. A high concentration on one bot greatly increases the chance of a lockdown however.
Peek and boo and attrition --- which was helped by Shocktrains and the high frequency of TDM during the then Random mode --- is gone now unless you constantly insist on playing TDM as your only game mode of choice. Good luck to the waiting times. With players gravitating towards Beacon Rush, tactics have changed too, less hiding and more pushing.

Spectre/ST is dead.
You see all sorts of things out there.
Some dominant bots are
Fury or Bulwark / Dragoon or Flux Mender / Many viable setups Spectre / Tulus or Hydras Pursuer / Gust Inquisitor or Mercury / Ember or Avenger with whatever Dash bots still have a strong place
Mk2 certain weapons that were "nerfed", Mk2 will effectively un-nerf them.
Comeback bots
Lance / Poor man's Bulwark Leo / Avenger or Glory with Gust Galahad / Good energy defense

brawling is dead and range is king now. Orkans are trash and Tulumbas are were its at for rockets currently. The only brawling going on is in stealth mode... booooorrrring..
