I watched Predator's "Best Strider Build" video, and decided to start leveling one up myself.
I'd like to use this build as follows: Sneak up to Red from behind cover. I'd most likely search for a Taran or Orkan build. Maybe use a dash or two to get there. Pop out, and use Shredders from a safe distance (400 meters) in order to freeze the enemy. And then melt them with the Ember. My bot and Ember will be at level 12 Mk2.
I tried using it in a custom match, and I'm having problems with separating the weapons buttons. I've never used an Ember before, and I don't want to run low on fuel. So, Id like to hold off on using the Ember until after the Shredders have locked down a target. I'm using an ipad pro, and the fingers of my right hand are cradling the back side of the tablet. I only have my right thumb to use for targeting, so it's difficult to nearly impossible for me to hold down both Shredder buttons (each side) without triggering the red, all inclusive button, which would in turn, activate the Ember.
Would anyone care to offer some advice or tips on how they manage a situation like this? I then noticed the botton/icon located at 6:00 o'clock. I believe this is for toggling auto lock to "on" or "off". Is this correct. It appears that with my Strider Build (2x Shredder/1x Ember) it's displaying, but not active, since neither of these weapons have this ability. Thanks for any input, Marky

Fire first one Shredder and then quickly lift your thumb and hit the second Shredder button. This will fire both Shredders with the left one slightly ahead of the right one. Once the target is frozen, left your thumb off the right button and quickly press the centre or top button. This will keep the Shredders firing and kick off the Ember. This technique works for any weapon that you want to cycle fire, but is easier to do on an iPad than phone.
On something as fast as the Strider though, you should be ok with just hitting the big red button, even at 400m. You can dash that last 50m pretty fast to bring your Ember into range. Plus, you'll have higher chance of root if you hold fire until around 350m anyway.

Focus more on orkan builds and time your attacks when the red is reloading or low on ammo. What Koalabear is saying does work, just make sure not to accidentally tap the red button, which can be tricky, since you want your shredders firing asap.

I fool around at times with an ember strider. In relation to the ember I prefer to get really close to the target as the ember flame is very slow after discharge. The best thing I like about the strider is that it can target/be a threat from 500m+ while carrying brawling weapons. I get my kicks out of surprising unaware reds and BBQ-ing their 「multiple dookie delivery chute」 with a maxed ember. If the red doesnât pick up what bot you are in than the surprise is on the cards. Also good to join a brawling party unannounced. Against plasma builds it is good to carry a shield and against splash builds its good to arrive with a couple of dashes up the sleeves.
But ultimately he is a low levelled (L7 or something) toy for me because I donât think he is worth levelling (but that may just be me). May change my mind if my inventory is full of lock down weapons.

I tried Redeemer/Magum, while good, the bot dies very quickly at level 7. I have Tempet/Molots on it now, and it does ok for suppression on Canyon/Yam. Exodus/Ember plus whatever should be good, but no way I'm taking my leveled Ember off Quiz. The C leagues that I see using it have Exodus/Gust, Exodus/Pinata, rooting guns, etc. It's a good bot, fun too.

I've had mine a while. I think the Exodus with 2 x Gust works. I'm building up Avenger with 2 x Shredder. I think this will be better.

I use a shotgun load out for BR. After capping the middle beacon everything is a plus. I’ll sneak up on Reds and finish them off up close , or help wear down shields from 400m.

I mainly play beacon rush and run mine as a shotgun. I don't use it first as it's too suicidal.
I like to pick and choose the right timing to use it to dash up the wings(sides) quickly and turn a home or near home beacon. This has work really successfully to turn games and win them.
I've been running mine for ages as I scored one in an SC when it gave off a whole bot. It took a while to get the hang of it and learn some strategy with it. Mine is 12mk2 with L10 weps because I saw the potential.
I love him. It's fun and exciting to play. Helps with the balance of my hanger.
He's the ultimate Disruptor Bot.
