I'm the proud owner of a new Zeus fury as a mid-ranger robot. I don't want to change my weapons, I want to master the use of this baby. However, I'm having problems. I'm having problems using it on maps such as Shenzhen or Dead City -- when I get to a point where I can fire at enemies that have no protection from rocks, etc. I get caught in the middle of a crossfire. Or even when there's only one robot to deal with, I can't fire at it successfully without getting to 300 meters, a big no-no.
Here's what I think I should be doing, any other advice? If I were to kill 2 robots before dying I'd be happy, but often times it's only one kill or even no kills before dying
* I'm leveling up my 3 Zeuses * I should do whatever it takes to stay more than 500 meters away * I bought it as a support bot and should use it as such. Find the other players and help them out * On maps such as Dead City, if the other players on my team are too far away for support, I should sneak around, firing at lone enemies or catching a lone enemy by surprise * If I can safely damage enemies with 10 clean shots, that's just as good as suiciding to destroy 2 robots, would you agree? * I can use the Fury to guard a beacon if it's got plenty of cover
Again, any other advise would be appreciated, apart from "change your weapons." The wiki had many good things to say about the Zeus Fury, and although I'm struggling with it, I can see how it can be deadly with proper use

The only good place for it is right side of your spawn at the roof. If your team is good you can advance to the border of center. In shenzen you just can hold the line of homebeacon. And unfortunately the Zeus starts to bring out its potential at level 10 or so.

I've been playing Zeus Fury for 10 months or so. It is still levels 8/9. Someday I'll max it....
On Yam, Canyon, and Springfield it is a reliable damage dealer, suppressor, and a benefit to the team. Shenzen, Rome, Deadnaught are more iffy.
Other maps...not good, in fact, a liability to the 5 others. Fury is not a brawler, Dead City and Fury can mix well sometimes, but most of the time don't.

Love my Zeus furry but nothing works everywhere in this game. I’m almost ready to have 2 real hangars and that will be a great day for this build. Just roll with it on the bad maps. I get aggressive and see what I can do while accepting that he’s gonna die young

Rules to run a Zeus Fury:
1. You have to accept that there are targets you cannot hit. Do not get so attached to a particular target that's in range but behind cover. Accept that he will move out of cover eventually. 2. You are not a brawler. Especially in this day of stealth, you really don't want to get caught less than 500m of anything. 3. Look for low cover where you can stick your guns over. 4. Try not to lose lock. That 3 sec auto lock time is an eternity for Zeus Fury. Shift from target to target, but try to ensure they're all in range. Also, this is how we snap fire at jumping bots. 5. Stay away from TT Fury. You are no match for splash. 6. Do not go toe to toe with Dragoon Fury. You are outgunned. 7. Hit and hide. I would say run, but the Fury can't run.
That's all I can think for now. Anyone got anymore?

Dead city is good map for the fury. Plenty of spots to pop the zues over and not get hit in order to protect the right and center beacons

Good to know. On those iffy and bad maps I'll leave it as my last choice unless, with the experience I hope to gain, I can see the situation and think "Ok, now's a good time to pull out the Fury Also good to know, especially for when I must use the Fury because I have no other robots left

1) If you want a full salvo to hit one target instead of splitting between several targets due to auto-targeting, then make sure to Target-Lock your intended recipient
2) If your target is about to go behind cover a full salvo is good. Otherwise I recommend staggering the shots, because this will allow frequent firing, which has many obvious benefits. One in particular is that you can test if your shots will clear an obstruction. If you fire your entire salvo only to hit obstacles, you may not have a charge to hit an important target.
Another use of stagger fire I’d mention is that you can bait targets into moving away from cover. If they’re aware of you, they may wait for you to fire, then move, but if you only fired one and they move, you have a couple more charges to punch their bum bum.
3) Zeus has the coolest looking shots of this game imo, so my favorite thing to do is NOT Target-lock but stagger fire all over the place just so I can watch lightning, and it makes multiple targets aware you are hunting them, so in this way, with stagger and multiple targets the Zeus becomes a psy-op weapon helping to suppress and control enemy movements
