Hello fellow members
I just finished upgrading my new Hellburner to Mk1 level 12. I outfitted it with a Mk1 level 12 ancile & ECU. For the most part, I play FFA in Champ league. And so far, I love the capabilities of this robot.
One thing I'm uncertain of is if the "Overload ability" inflicts damage to enemy bots in the air. For example, a Hover that is within the 75 meter diameter circle, but 20 meters above me. Or, a Spectre, Falcon, Mercury, etc. that is no longer on the ground, but within the Hellburner Overload circle.
So far, I'm having difficulty with three situations. 1) Damage from Ember (especially from Inquisitor)
2) Damage from 3x or 4x Orkan bots. 3) Fast bots such as Kumiho or Strider.
Any advice, tips, or suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks,
Marky

Well, it depends on how close in the air they are. A hover can definitely avoid it, if it is prepared. I beat my friend once just because I flew up and avoided it. If you are closer, then yes, it will affect the person. Put a lock-down weapon on your bot. Dash Bots can't run if they are locked down. or you could put an ancile on your hellburner, that will block at least half the orkan damage. Embers, well, the only solution is to kill them before they kill you.

- I have died in the air from a Hellburner exploding below me a Falcon and Spectre.
- This robot has a very specific role, so it isn’t meant to last. Your role is to create half-life enemies or take out half-lifes...both for your team. So you need to consider more carefully when and where to place that in a way that ensures enemies are within the blast radius. My main input is to take more time to assess the situation before charging in, so you are confident you’ll perform your function well.

Best use is in squad play. We run Pursuers and sometimes Menders behind the Hellburners. Remember the shields working together make these rock so dont just run out on your own unless you dont have a good team. The bots following also make use of the shields, lock down enemies for the HB's and heal them as well so its a win win!
Happy Hunting!

I’ve had hellburner for a while, if there is anyone on a roof, don’t bother with your overload ability. You won’t hit them. I’ve tested it out on the jungle map, standing literally right above a hellburner and took no damage at all. Save it for the people on the ground.
