... because one day I plan to own this insane jumping spider.
Gust and Storm seems the most popular set up but how about Gust and Corona?
Corona fits the current "Lock 'em up and supress 'em" meta but maybe the stopping power of the Storm is really necessary?
You really need to take those reds out while they're supressed. In a few seconds you'll be facing a bunch of pissed off bots with full powered weapons.
Anyone else thinking about this?

I think that given the range you will be when you jump in and suppress, the power difference between the lead shotguns and energy shotguns is negligible. I think the lead shotguns have a little faster firing rate which gives them a slightly higher DPS. Hopefully someone else can chime in here. But, given how slow the Invader is, I think it's a good idea to give it a root weapon or two or three. And at that range, even a single Halo will root pretty consistently.
The normal cons to mixing weapon types are there though. If you encounter a bot with an Ancile, you won't be doing full damage until you wear down the Ancile with lead weapons, and if you encounter a bot with a physical shield, you won't break the shield as fast.
Personally, after piloting the Invader for a bit in the Skirmish last week, I'd go all energy shotgun and be wary of physical shield bots like the Lancelot, Rhino, Galaha and Gareth.

I wasn't even considering energy and physical shields. Still tempted to do the Corona to prevent reds from scurrying out of my supression range.

Just remember that though the Invader has tons of HP, it's not invulnerable. Try not to jump into a nest of reds with no blue backup like I did!

I have been thinking Corona and Spark or full shot gun Gust,Storm.Mine is at L 9 and would love to up it to L 12 but mighty expensive but what isn't in the new economy.

I've tried Storm/Gust(Halo), Scourge/Spark, and Taran/Magnum. The Scourge/Spark seems to work the best so far. Its good to make stealth jumpers prematurely activate. The shotgun build really only works consistently with lockdown and ambush tactics. The plasma build worked decent, but not great. I'm also thinking about Vortex/Aphid, or Vortex/Halo to bait ambushes. This could better allow your team to partake in the fun. Hydra/Halo might work too.
