Hi guys, I was recently waching Manni's new Spectre-4x Ballista Sniper build and got inspired to try something similar with another bot. You can watch his video of his build at the following link:
Before I dive in and spend tonnes of silver and time, I was hoping to get some feedback on what you guys feel could be the potential feasibility, advantages and drawbacks of a build like this ->
Bot: Raven
Hardpoints (Light): 2x Arbalest
Hardpoints (Medium): 2x Ballista
Playstyle: Double Jump Sniper, Point Capper
Maps: Yamantau, Springfield, Canyon (long maps)
Rationale:
I personally don't see the point of having stealth mode if you're going to be a sniper from distances upward of 600m, not many weapon load outs are going to be able to hit you either, many of which you will be able to jump/dodge. Likewise, with no reduction in damage from your weapon regardless of the distance, it doesn't make much sense to be close in on the firefights. I'm trying to justify Raven over Spectre also because of the mobility of 2 jumps - rendering it more utility eg. capping/de-capping beacons as opposed to being purely a camping sniper (something both teammates and enemies really hate).
The only drawback I feel at the moment is the manual-aim that may be a challenge for mobile-users. If you are using a desktop emulator like most people in higher-leagues are, it should only require minimal effort aiming during jump/air-shots. At least I feel that's what makes the bot challenging for it's awesome trade-off. Thoughts? Please be constructive and nice
