And I think that’s exactly what makes the difference in a Hover. No other bot allows you quite to adapt to and take advantage of the environment and fluid situations like this bot does.
I also noticed that you are focusing at least as much on your own team as you are on the reds. I guess that’s something I need to improve...

The clan I'm in now (KAOS) has a lot of situational players, which I try to be also. I'd like to stick with "this plan" or "that plan"...the only plan that works is to adapt to what the blue teammates are doing, and try to help them with their goal. I try to get Hover in a flank-left or right position, if possible. Also, most maps have one or sometimes more nice sniping positions, the one in Valley (at the center) is great for this.
I try to seize any opportunity to capitalize on red's mistakes along the way, as anyone should in any bot. Scourge-Hover allows a very long reach that is hard to escape from, and I enjoy fighting them too, they can be very tough to deal with.
In this game, the red team got (way) ahead on the beacon bar and probably became a little too aggressive. All they had to do is retreat back, survive the clock, and the match was theirs. There is something to be said about the red's bot choices as well. In my opinion, they are running WAY TOO MANY Spectres. Spectre is still an elite bot, but this match underscores how much they can gimp a team that has pilots running 5-Spectre hangars. They just don't survive long enough after the 4.3 nerf to be playing as aggressive as the red team was and last for 10 minutes.
You see how much I'm measuring distance, I'm also doing that to get a lock that I'll need as soon as I fly....at any given moment I'm going to try to help a teammate do what THEY want to do....Scourge-Hover is just a support flanker. |

BR Valley again, against a 6-squad, PyCb:
1. Skip to 0:38 2. 0:55 took left beacon 3. 2:15 spawned Quiz @ red's left-beacon...I was with a strong blue team. 4. 2:38 spawned Haechi @ red's left-beacon....go strong blue team! 5. 3:16 spawned Bulgi @ red's left-beacon...GO STRONG BLUE TEAM GO! 6. 4:22 spawned Hover @ red's left-beacon...ohhhh...we got em, they're hating this match  5. 5:34 the fat lady sings
Btw, the red's 6th damage position pilot "Tuahoyka" shows Expert League.
I used to be in his clan, most of them could play in Champion if they wanted to, have C-league cups, etc. He's a good player.

I currently run a Mk2 12 and a mk2 11, and have a third in the garage at mk2 11. People refer to them as skeet pigeons. They still take down a lot, and they are only targets if you let them. I would not have leveled them if they were. And they can be very fun. Take care folks. Actually a guide showing us where all the best perches are would be pretty sweet. Especially for Shenzhen |

0:51 and 1:09 - the jumps are intended to be a long glide as there are a lot of available targets. 1:21 spawn Haechi to defend left-beacon 3:45 spawn Quiz to defend center 6:23 spawn Hover, I see that nobody else is spawning (realize we've lost...1 vs 3), so I spawn Hover (which I play better than I do Bulgi) to just grab some Ag 6:52 ceiling bounce to try to minimize the Ork-Spectre ambush, but he had a good jump on me 7:05 spawn Bulgi, too little too late 7:31 fat lady sings
If I would have had a 1 on 1 or even 1 on 2 at the end (with my Mk2 Hover), I'd maybe have had a chance to pull it off.
Also, seeing lots of Lances lately, a good thing. |

Especially for Shenzhen i don’t really go for perches very much unless they are convenient. As cheesy as it sounds my perches are behind walls and in the skies. My philosophy is that if I can see them from on high and shoot them then they can should back at my mostly still hover. I can take some hits, but mostly it isn’t worth if for a few pot shots. Better to stay on the move. Now, as I said, that’s my philosophy. Perching may work for others, it just doesn’t work for me, so by all means explore the possibilities. |

0:00 - Saw a lot of bad choices for 1st drop, telling me I'm mixed with Masters or Experts 0:51 - Capped left-beacon 1:53 - Waiting for the red Hover to eventually come up to ambush me 2:00 - Cleared the ambush, attempted to cap center-left beacon, but met a spawned shotgun Griff 2:33 - Hit the panic mode button, as I saw the game slipping (beacons, our positions and builds seen), so I dropped Hover as #2 2:57 - After scanning the field, ried to ambush from high to not only surprise, but also get over cover while I capped center-beacon 3:03 - Way outgunned, but capped center-beacon and escaped almost unharmed 3:38 - Capped left-beacon again 4:10 - I could have taken out the Ork-Spectre that ambushed me, but getting beacons was priority 4:29 - Tried to cap center-left beacon (again), but had stealth company coming to pay a visit 4:48 - Spawned Quiz to try to win center-beacon back 5:30 - Capped center beacon (again) 5:50 - Spawned Haechi 6:20 - Spawened Bulgi - tried to cap center-beacon (again) 7:12 - Defeat...support bots don't control territory very well 7:23 - I know Dark_J0ker (blue team)...good player, but appears he was tanking

What I always thought was missing was being able to input three buttons (strafe, special ability and attack), and it seems a Scourge Hover build certainly needs that feature. Or is it only my iPad that locks up in controls when using three fingers?

I can also steer and use individual guns while using strafe and forward and back. Does your iPad just completely lock up? Edit: what kind of iPad? I’m not saying it’s easy, and the times you really need it, you already have 11 different things going on. I feel lucky when I can pull it off even after who knows how many matches. |

If firing continuously while in the air, the ability button assumes you want to fire and will do both after a few seconds (fly and fire).

1:41-That was r?tarded how little damage that enemy kumiho took from a full volley of the Aphex Raven teammate to your left when every shot made contact and kumiho was standing almost completely still. Pix totally robbed him. Your teammate probably should have crippled that kumiho in that one attack If the damage registered fairly. And LOL @ the leo in a champion match. |

I gave in (to all this hover awesomeness here) and started to level a second one.
My beloved L11 machine with L12 Scourges is probably the most consistently used bot in my hangar, but I had another L1 OE (!) beauty collecting dust.
Well, the dust is off now, it’s currently at L8 and sporting a L7 aphex setup.
So much fun, but boy oh boy do I suck at hurling rockets. So much so that I consider a halo storm or vortex spiral setup. But before I decide I will try to get some practice under my belt as bot and weapons are leveling.
